What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Over 13 years party DJ experience. I have saved all previous events music played, and playlists with detailed notes relating to age groups and genres of music played conducive for dancing. If that's not working, (not very often) I'll ask the younger women guests (18 to 30ish) to come up and suggest what songs they enjoy dancing to. Many are more than happy to give me a long list of dance songs, that are always well accepted by the crowd. When the adult beverages start to kick in, and the requested music is playing, that dance floor is almost always packed full of dancers, eventually asking me to give them all a break to catch their breath. I never allow the music to stop at any point during the evening.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
My main objective is to play the music you and your guests want to hear. I want your guests to come up to me after the night has ended, and while packing my equipment, tell me they had the best time ever at a party because of the music. That's why I do this! That's my style. I'll make announcements when needed, however I rarely speak. I'll throw in some jokes, or music trivia occasionally, however my guess is your guests would rather listen or dance to good music, instead of listening to me talk all night telling everyone how great of a DJ I am. :-) This has worked well for me over the past 13 years.
What do you love most about your job?
Listening to good music and observing guests having a great time. That's my main goal. If you and your guests are having fun, so am I! That's a win - win!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired by being laid-off from the best job I've ever held in 2009, due to the "great recession." I couldn't find a job to save my life. I interviewed for minimum wage secretarial positions with no success. The owner of a local restaurant/bar hired me to be the Karaoke host on Fri. and Sat. nights there, for $50 a night. $100 for 2 nights. I was stoked! I couldn't believe they were paying me $$ for something I enjoyed so much! I was suddenly in the "Entertainment Business!" I saved my money, and after a year or so, purchased my own equipment, and the rest is history. I haven't looked back since!

Based on what I wrote above, my enthusiasm and excitement show throughout the night. People notice I enjoy what I do, provide "Great Vibes!"

I never have provided my services online or remotely; however, I see no reason why I can't if requested.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I had no requests to DJ during the lock down. After lock-down was lifted, I've had 2 Pfizer vaccine shots, and 2 booster shots. I also purchased disposable microphone socks and spray with Lysol disinfectant between Karaoke singers. I have not been infected with Covid-19. I carry CDC card with my vaccine and booster shots history.
Party DJ and/or Karaoke Host Services
Request DJ service only playing the music you and your guests enjoy dancing to or mix it up by requesting Karaoke and DJ throughout the evening. Perhaps request Karaoke only, the decision is yours.
