what happened? Went to breakfast yesterday and took my husband's mother who is visiting from New Orleans. Although we had been weekly patrons, we hadn't been in since the closures caused by the pandemic and we were excited to be going back to one of our favorite spots. when we arrived we walked in and noticed the entire upstairs was closed abs dark and only two tables had guests in the main eating area. outside the tables were being utilized and 1 table in the front of the restaurant. The host took our name and told us it should be about 30 minutes. so we walked around for awhile. Due to the extreme heat my husband's mother needed to sit down and she sat in a chair at one of the many dirty tables. the host came up to use and said he needed to clean the table and we needed to move. we watched as he cleaned the table and then came to me to tell me my table is ready and to us to the table he just asked us to leave. we ordered and there were no beniets this morning. I ordered what I always order, the crepito with sausage gravy. I was disappointed to learn the gravy had changed and had no flavor, the sausage also was different. my husband ordered the traditional breakfast which didn't resemble what we remember. my husband added the crispy coat fries, these are his favorite however when the fries arrived is a bowl they were just regular fries. when I asked what happened to the crispy coat we were told they don't make those anymore. why is it still in the menu then and why didn't the server mention this. we had ordered 2 of the fries and sent one back since this was not what we expected however the waitress left the charge on our bill. This too was a disappointment, we are charged for an item you don't have or mention it that we sent back the moment you dropped it at the table. sadly, I won't be back it is not what it used to be.
