We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Angie and Benny (Keen K-9). They’ve been working with our dog since he was a puppy, and their patience, consistency, and deep understanding of canine behavior made such a difference early on.
When we decided to move forward with a board and train program using an e-collar to help with his anxiety and reactivity, we knew he was in the best hands.
The transformation has been incredible. Our dog is not only more confident and responsive, but it’s also genuinely more enjoyable to be with him now—both at home and out in the world. The trainers took the time to educate us thoroughly so we could maintain his progress, and we’ve seen a huge improvement in his behavior and overall happiness.

What do you love most about your job?
What we love most about my job is helping dogs and their owners build a stronger, more trusting relationship through clear communication and structure. Seeing a dog go from anxious or unruly to confident, calm, and happy is the most rewarding feeling. Every transformation reminds me why we do what we do it changes not only the dog’s life but the owner’s peace of mind, too.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We started Keen K9 because we saw how many owners were struggling to enjoy life with their dogs due to confusion, lack of structure, or misinformation about training. We wanted to create a program that truly bridges that gap where owners learn just as much as their dogs. Building a company based on fairness, clarity, and compassion allows us to help families live harmoniously and confidently together.

Yes! While our Board & Train and in-person lessons are hands-on, we also provide virtual consultations and remote coaching sessions for clients outside our service area. These online options are great for troubleshooting behavior issues, refining obedience, or supporting previous clients who’ve completed our programs and want continued guidance.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We take safety seriously. During Covid-19, we adjusted all meet-and-greets and lessons to include sanitized training gear, contact-free hand-offs, and optional outdoor or virtual sessions. We continue to maintain high sanitation standards in all training and boarding spaces to ensure a clean, safe environment for both dogs and their owners.
