Hiring Kate as a day-of coordinator was absolutely one of the best decisions we made. From our first phone call, I knew Kate was the right planner to go with. She was so easygoing, very knowledgeable and always had great recommendations and ideas to make the wedding planning process simpler. Wedding planning was a huge stressor for my husband and I and we wouldn’t have known what to do without her support along the way. Kate is extremely organized and her attention to detail was priceless. After meeting her for the first time, I trusted Kate 100% to help set up our ceremony and reception because of how detail-oriented and on top of it she was. She even helped us with some last-minute fixes, the florist forgot to decorate our cake and she did so on her own! It is hard to put into words how truly phenomenal Kate is at her job, and how essential she was in coordinating my recent wedding. I knew from the moment I talked to her on the phone that I wanted to hire her - in addition to being organized and a great communicator, she is warm, funny, and totally got my quirky sense of humor. Throughout the year I have worked with her, she has constantly impressed me with her responsiveness, thoroughness, and organizational skills. She was critical in attending venue meetings leading up to our wedding, catching small mistakes and making sure our vision was effectively executed. As someone who is quite type A, I was truly able to relax and enjoy my wedding weekend knowing that Kate was there handling everything. I had no doubt about her skills leading up to the wedding, but on my actual wedding day, she yet again demonstrated how essential she was. Our ceremony was held on a public pier, and unbeknownst to my husband and I, the pier had double booked the space. Kate handled everything, to the point that my husband and I barely knew anything was wrong, as she went to bat for us and dealt with the major curve ball thrown her way and worked to shield us from the stress of what was happening. Because of her calm and collected presence in the face of chaos, we were able to have the ceremony we had planned. My now husband was initially skeptical in my strong desire to hire a wedding coordinator, and the day following the wedding, he commented how essential Kate was and how we could not have pulled things off without her. Without a doubt, Kate was the best decision we made for our January wedding. Kate is a serious rock star with major organization skills. She helped me keep all stress in check before the wedding by talking about what the problems were, and she would provide solutions. Her feedback was extremely valuable and helped pull off the perfect wedding.
The wedding day, Kate texted me early to check on how I was doing and brought me coffee when she got there. (It was desperately needed). Kate was the point person for everything, she made sure the florist got to the right room, that the boys were dressed in time, the groomsmen knew when to be dress. I can’t say I had zero stress, but I truly can’t imagine what I would have been like without Kate there.
At the first call, Kate asked me what I needed out of a day of coordinator, and it was really to have a point person for all the vendors/family and wedding part. Kate excelled at this. There was no lapse in communication, and she made sure all vendors knew the things that were important.

If you are on-the-fence about the value of a wedding coordinator, take this Type-A bride's advice and DO it! Kate was incredible throughout the whole process, but her skills & warm personality shone through on our wedding day. I can honestly say that we could not have done it without her! Kate was amazing! She was a calming force in the months leading up to our big day, and made sure everything ran smoothly the day of. She was always available for when I needed her, and no matter how panicked I was going into a conversation or a meeting with her, I always walked away more calm and relaxed. Having Kate as our DOC last month was by far one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding. A few months before, we realized it was probably in our best interest to get professional help with coordinating. We initially thought it could all be done with the help of friends and family, but as the day started to come together, we realized how much security we would feel having an expert handling the day from start to finish. Kate provided that security even before the big day! We contacted her a little last minute, and even though she had a wedding the day prior, she so kindly squeezed us in and was incredibly supportive starting with our first phone call. In the two months before the wedding, she was responsive via email, scheduled phone check-in’s, and met us at the venue for a walk-through. Even if there were any vendor or other disasters the day of, we had no idea ;) Kate did a fabulous job decorating and seemed to get the overall vibe we were going for, kept everything on schedule, and helped to make sure my husband and I were completely worry-free and enjoying ourselves. Kate Carroll, of KC EVents, is the perfect choice for a wedding planner! I was introduced to Kate by a friend who used her services. Although I was dubious about using a wedding planner, Kate was awesome and just what we needed. I hired Kate after many of the vendors had been chosen and I have to say that we had a good sense of our direction and of the look and feel of the wedding. That being said, Kate was/is a total pro and helped with all of the "last month/last week/day of" details. Kate listened closely to what we wanted and was helpful at every turn. She is a great communicator, super detail oriented and has excellent suggestions and solutions. Kate is calm, kind, warm and exceedingly wonderful to have by your side. Kate was "on it" for everything, carrying out what we wanted, making sure everyone was aware of and on board with timelines, the plan etc. Best of all, Kate is one of the warmest and kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with--her calm and smiling nature keeps everyone else positive and calm, even if things get stressful. We had a fabulous wedding that exceeded the bride and groom's (and our) expectations and there were no snafu's....Kate was the lynchpin, communicating all of the way! She made sure that all went smoothly. Kate offered up several suggestions (and ultimately hired and handled) "transportation" for the welcome party evening and also, for the wedding. It was perfect! She also handled all tipping, vendor timelines and any last minute changes. We relaxed and enjoyed the moment, knowing Kate was handling the details, understood what we wanted and also knew how to deal with anything that came her way. Kate was unbelievably helpful when it came to organizing the tail end of our wedding. We asked Kate to step in and help us after most of the choices had been made regarding vendors- my only regret would've been to connect with her sooner so she could've helped with our vendor choosing. I am currently in medical school and had a board exam just before the wedding, so Kate really took over the last month while I was studying. She got to all the details and flawlessly organized everyone! The day of the wedding she was constantly checking on the vendors and making sure everything was on time. Kate, Last Friday you participated in our daughter’s wedding as the Day of Coordinator (DOC). We couldn’t have been more pleased with your services. This was the family that did not think we needed someone to help us! Kate started officially working on our event two weeks before the wedding. Beginning with our first meeting you were thoughtful, respectful of the brides wishes and had some wonderful recommendations. It’s quite difficult to put into words just how grateful we are to you and just how valuable you were during the entire wedding & planning process. I will do my best!

From the moment we connected I had zero doubt that you would be the most important addition to our vendor squad but even then it seemed like somewhat of a luxury vs. necessity. I was wrong. The venue seemed to provide everything one would need as far as timeline and coordinating for our big day. I wasn’t about to let you go that easy! I knew I would still need someone there as Rob and I’s advocate for the day. Wasn’t that the truth?!

During the process, you were always available. Whether to answer questions or ease my mind. In the short weeks prior it was CRYSTAL CLEAR that you were irreplaceable. When I saw you had reached out to all our vendors to establish yourself as their point person, that alone was such a big deal to me. The day I got that email, I was running a fever and feeling like it was the worst time to fall ill. With so much to do and so many people to be following up with, I was feeling so flustered. What a relief it was to know you had it handled.

This brings me to the day of our rehearsal. The wedding venue, essentially a wedding factory, that we thought had a handle on EVERYTHING, didn’t even have their coordinator there to be present for the rehearsal?!!! The owner had no idea who anyone was and anything that was discussed as far as our vision for the evening. Thank God for you. You took charge as planned and did not let the owner boss you around. You stood up for us and made sure our wedding was exactly as we’d planned. YOU made sure we had a rain plan, thankfully not needed but it definitely came close!! More...

We feel so lucky to have had Kate on our team for my sister’s wedding. Her lists and time lines made my organized heart happy. Kate contacted vendors and really focused on making sure my sister and brother-in-law had the best day. She got us a microphone less than 24 before the ceremony and created table numbers out of thin air when a few went missing.
