Avoid Julie Savitz. She is untrustworthy and unethical. She is fake and will sell her soul to make a dollar.

You’re paying for location (being near the beach), not experience… service sucks, valet only system sucks, and in room amenities suck. Nothing special, especially considering the price. I stayed for 4 nights, at about $600 a night for a ‘more premium’ room with the bathtub and view. The room aesthetically is on par with most hotels and was clean as is to be expected, but there is no microwave, silverware, cups, plates, kitchen sink, dishwasher, paper towels - any of those basic items. There was a mini fridge but it was filled to the brim with beer and wine (that you pay for if you drink)… so that was literally useless.VALET ONLY & you must pay per night… I believe $60. There’s no self parking. You have to hand the keys over, and whenever you want your car, they tell you to text a number 10 minutes before leaving your room. There were two or three occasions where I did so and I was waiting outside for another 10-15 minutes for them to pull the car up… checking in and out during popular days or times is even worse. It’s almost impossible to plan ahead with the annoying system becoming backed up, people loading and unloading cars takes much longer. And once you get downstairs and out to where you pickup the car, it’s a hunt to find which of the at least 3 valet drivers walking around have your keys hanging off their key belt.On checkout (a Tuesday) we called for a cart to be brought to our room. An hour later we called again asking where the car was. “Right away, they’re coming up now” they said. We waited another 30 minutes before deciding to haul all of our stuff down in two trips. Once we were downstairs, we had to hand over our keys despite the fact we would be back in 2-3 mins. When we got back down from the second trip… ooops… there’s too many cars for them to pull ours up, (this is a Tuesday morning, not Friday or Sunday!) so we had to wait like 10 mins again. In short, I go to dozens of hotels each year, I’ve had much better experiences from places that are even a quarter of a price. I’d say do a bit more research, and find something else… even if you’re willing to spend a good amount of money, there’s better option at this price point. More...

We stayed at the W Residences which is part of the W Fort Lauderdale. These are individually owned units but you get to use all the facilities of the W Hotel. We came with our adult daughter and got a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit for less than the cost of a hotel room. The units could use a refurbish but it was nice to have so much space, including a kitchen and living room. The daily resort fee entitles you to daily bicycle rental, 2 beach chairs and an umbrella daily and a $35 credit at the bar. It was definitely worth it. You can find them on VRBO. More...

We booked a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. The room was supposed to have 2 outdoor spaces over looking to ocean and each room was supposed to be equipped with a king bed. When we arrived we were given an accessibility room where the bathrooms had no doors, then told the hotel was sold out, eventually we were given a room with the bathroom doors. However, the room was not overlooking the water and had no furniture on the balcony nor was it the full 2 bed rooms that was advertised when i booked the room. On top of the room issues there was an elevator down the entire time of our stay and we had wait 20+ min to get to and from our room, the hotel was very understaffed so food and drinks took over 1+ hour after ordering to arrive each time. The hotel has too packed for the number of staff they had and they tried to nickle and dime you, staying in a 2. bedroom room we were only allowed to have 2 beach chairs or had to pay for the extra third. The hotel floors were dirty and overall not kept up well. We had stayed at the hotel before and loved it, not sure what happened in the several years between visits. The hotel manager was nice and tried to make things right, however I did not get what i had booked and overall it was not a good experience. More...

We stayed at the W Fort Lauderdale over from 12/27/24-12/30/24. The location was amazing as were all of the employees. Every employee we interacted with was upbeat, respectful and so so helpful. My only complaint which has nothing to do with the hotel was the exorbitant amount of children/families at this hotel. We picked this hotel specifically since it is listed as more of an adult only hotel and it was the complete opposite. The pool and even the bar area in "living room" were full of kids. We wound up leaving the hotel each afternoon/evening to get away from screaming kids. More...

Horrible. HORRIBLE. This hotel needs investigation on how they use their resources. Housekeeping is very rough. We had opened champagne bottles in the fridge, a random lightbulb in the sink, flickering eerie lights in the shower. Floors and tables didn’t feel clean had glass/makeup stains. The vibe was very spooky, and I did not feel safe at all. Housekeeping needs to be investigated. The breakfast at “el vez” was very slow. We were waiting 40+ min for our food and at the end, our food order was wrong…. We were so mad at this point, we just got up and left. Can’t take it anymore. The whole facility has peeling paint, elevators jerking and randomly pausing on the way, unkempt public facilities like trash and plates left out for a long time. This is NOT acceptable for a 5 star hotel with Marriott. Ruined our vacation in Florida for the new years. They definitely don’t put customer service first and the staff probably party in the rooms. The only good thing was E, the receptionist was very kind. Management is bad, higher ups please come investigate!! More...

As Titanium Elite and Platinum Elite status guests. After leaving Costa Ricas JW in Guanacaste. I have to say. Welcome back to my home USA. Service must just mean more to people in outher countries. I will not be staying at a W ever again in the US. The service = garbage. In Costa Rica. They made my family and I feel special. Here at the W we are just another paycheck. The woman who greeted my sister at the front counter was filled with nothing less then disappointment. "Oh we ran out of welcome drinks at front counter, sorry. If you come tomorrow we should have more" (aka i dont care about you or my job enough to go get some for you). We keave at 4am tomorrow. Im sure we will want those drinks then... The Mexican restaurant... well menu is small. Oh your mom's allergic to onions. Let's just stuff her meal full of them. Now she's not feeling well. Cant make you any fresh food without a,b,or c in them, because i guess thats just not a thing. Server. Just here for a paycheck. Im not here to take care of you. While we lay in a room that must have been seriously water damaged at one point with mold and mildew smells strong. As a water damage specialist. I know something happened in hear. The company that took care of it... cut corners. A mold remediation must bever have been a thought. Or hotel is so cheap they did it them selves with no professionals. As someone who has struggled with sinus infections for 5 years. This is exactly the kind of poor mitigation that triggers my sinuses.I mean I'm really supposed to believe this is a nice, fancy, upscale hotel that cares about thier customers. Well the jokes on you. My family and I won't be returning. To your moldy roten hotel. We might be one family, but I wonder how many other families feel the same way...Ps. There's more. All HVAC systems are filled with black mold blowing into your rooms. When people start to associate their new health problems with thier stay here at the W. Do not be afraid to sue this W. They have so many complaints and reports of mold and mildew. They truly DO NOT care about their customers well being. If they did. They would have at the very least paid a professional company to remediate the mold growth and that each and ever room and corner of the building. It's always about the money isn't it...I can see the water damage now that it's morning as my flight has been canceled. I am so excited to leave this hotel and it's terrible health hazards. Here's some pictures of a half assed water damage repair. You can see massive amounts of water settled into the ceiling of my room. You can see no tear out was done. Just patched up the ceiling and painted. Sealing all that mold into the ceiling to paint every customer that stays here. Im on the 16th floor. So this water damage happened higher up then me. I have woken up feeling congested. I pray it doesn't turn I to a major health problem. I guess this hotel doesn't understand how dangerous mold growth is and how it affects people's health. No wonder why all the employees are the way they are. They are affected by the mold. They should sue the W as well in a class action lawsuit. If i had to guess. Based on the reviews I've read. This was 1 or multiple major water damages that affected a large number of units. So much more but it's all just disappointment so I wil end here. More...

I booked thru Expedia for this resort which was to include all fees! That will be who I contact next! However, the rooms are outdated! No door on the restroom/shower area therefore do not allow family or friends into your room as they will see you naked! Rooms need upgrading! Our ocean view balcony included 1 chair. We were a party of 2! Also no little table to set your water on! Phone didn't work to ask for more towels wash cloths etc! We chased down a cleaning lady that actually went into a non rented room for wash cloths! Also 60 PER NIGHT to park and 62 Per day for resort fees to use their pool and a beach that doesn't cost a dime to go to! Also, charged me 40 some dollars for their junk bar in the room we never touched! I do not recommend the W Fort Lauderdale to anyone. It's a dump! Do not stay here! Rooms need updating! Ocean view balcony barely enough room for two chairs. Maybe that is why there was only one chair on our balcony! Tried to call maintenance and our phone in the room did not work! No ice machine to get ice and had to call room service which we waited for ice up to an hour, second call, they never came! No door on the bathroom. Also, when you want to take a shower the whole bedroom lights up as it is has opaque windows that shines in the bedroom! And if you are expecting company, and just getting out of the shower you will be seen naked! The hotel calls it an open concept . Well when you are staying with company and or family this open concept is not acceptable. Carpet flooring was definitely in need of replacing. Try some tile or laminate! Carpet stunk! When I booked ALL Resort fees were included until I received my credit card bill. I was charged $450 for $60 per night to park! $62 for Resort fees per night to use their pool and the BEACH. The beach is Free people! And we had plans all day and night so we never used their $62 per day for their pool and FREE beach access! And also $40-50 for the wet bar in our room that we never took anything from! Way out of my price range! We brought our own snacks and water! The beach is free for everyone! Like WTH! Had to hunt down the cleaning people as they only provided towels and washcloths for one night and our reservations were for 3 nights! With that being said you got a disgusting room for a total of about $450 per night! Got me once, won't get me twice! More...

I honestly cannot believe this room is part of the Marriott portfolio of properties. It was a. Ice surprise to be upgraded to a two bedroom suite. It was handicapped, not that that should matter. There isn’t a lamp or piece of art hanging on the white cements walls. The furniture looks like worn out particle board assembly furniture. Some looks like office file cabinet furniture. Shocking doesn’t even begin to describe the furniture. The sofa is so hard and sounds like it’s coated in plastic. There are no lamps or lights in the living room area, we are using the kitchen lights to see but it’s still very dark. The bedrooms do not have lamp light and are very dark. The view is great. Having a full kitchen and balconies are nice but the rest of this room is very shocking. More...

When my husband and I got into our first room it smelt terribly musty/moldy, and so did our friends’ room. We talked to the hotel about switching rooms and they were very accommodating. My husband and I got into our second room and it smelt bad as well, but better than the first so we chose to sleep in that room. The next day we had a photoshoot to go to so we needed to use the iron, but there was no ironing board. We called about 1.5 hours before we needed to leave. The employee we talked to said they’d bring one up. We waited for roughly 45 minutes and it didn’t come. We called again and talked to someone else. This person said they’d look into for us and give us a call right back, which they didn’t after another 20-30 minutes. We called them back and then they said if they find an ironing board they’ll let us know. We left for our pictures and had dinner. Came back and still no board but the room smelt worse than before, so we chose to switch rooms again. Our third room was so much better, and actually had an ironing board this time, however we noticed that the caulking around the shower/tub was pretty much non existent and water would leak on the side wall of the shower which that wall was in our room. They didn’t clean our room one day, which we didn’t have a sign on our door not to. (But they wanted to clean our room before check out). They also took the robes that were in the room but never gave them back. The overall upkeep of the hotel is not what I expected at all and I was very disappointed. The hotel needs updating asap!I will say the room service is very fast so that’s a positive! I got room service 3 times and each time my food came within 20 minutes. I did like that we got beach chairs and an umbrella included in our resort fee.Overall, I do not recommend this place, especially for the price. Go somewhere else. More...
