Having read great reviews, we drove 15 min from our hotel in the pouring rain and reached 1 min before close. Young associates there had put most condiments inside. But when we entered, they greeted us and asked how they can help rather than saying we are closed. Forget the food for a second - when you get to the spot to order, and you see George Carlin leaving a signed photo on the wall thanking the crew for a sub, you have to think it's a winning spot. George doesn't strike me as having been a particularly complimentary type of guy; but at some point years ago he was chowing down in the same spot.The subs are huge and piled high with meat, cheese and toppings. I got the Jersey Best and my wife went with the Turkey sub - both winning combos, both meant to be eaten in multiple sittings. A half sub is more than enough for lunch. So don't let your friend talk you out of checking this spot out. As Carlin said, "think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
