Having JC Movers move my wife and I out of our apartment was one of the worst moving experiences I have ever had. They were scheduled for the move through Pack and Load Services, a company which farms out their moving jobs to smaller companies. The movers showed up two hours late (9:30 instead of 7:30) and one of the workers, Curtis, smelled like marijuana. The workers were careless and inefficient during the move. They damaged the walls of our apartment, dropped 10+ boxes and broke multiple items during the move. Curtis took smoke breaks during the move and made the other two workers do most of the moving. It took them over three hours to move our things out of a two bedroom apartment, which resulted in extra charges as we went past our scheduled moving time since they showed up two hours late. They asked me and my wife (who was 31 weeks pregnant) to help wrap furniture and move items, though the agreement was for them to move the entirety of the apartment. Curtis and Darryl came today with my Packrat/Zippy Shell pod, and they were great! They called to let me know what time they would arrive, they were fast and did a great job loading - paid attention to my instructions of how I had things organized, and were in/and/out in 90min. Very personable and made for a pleasant experience. More...
