We had the absolute BEST experience with Instant Request DJ from beginning to end. The process of hiring them was simple and their communication was fast and informative. We had DJ Kalli K for our event and she was absolutely fantastic! She played every one of our must-play songs and kept the dance floor full all night—exactly what we were hoping for. Early on, we had lots of kids dancing, and she mixed in the perfect variety of music to keep all ages engaged. What really set her apart was her energy. DJ Auctavias was amazing for our wedding. He catered to our needs and was intuitive to what the crowd was feeling. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone, any day! Unfortunately I had a less than ideal experience with the DJ we were initially assigned to. I paid extra for a black tie DJ, and I really wanted a phone call prior to our big day to iron out specifics. I had a lot of questions and just wanted some clarifications on some things (which Auctavias ended up doing with us, and I’m so grateful for!). The DJ ended up blowing me off multiple times for this phone call, which made me nervous about his reliability overall. When I brought it up to Matt, he offered no apology, no money back, just that he would assign us a different black tie DJ. I also offered to explain why I wanted a different DJ to Matt, but he didn’t care to know why. I was bummed I had that initial experience. DJ Jimmy was the DJ for our wedding and we are SO happy we hired him. Prior to the wedding, he met with us, answered any questions we had, and was so intentional and responsive to what we wanted for the dance. Our wedding included different ethnic songs, and it was easy to collaborate on what would be best for the flow of the dance. Outside of his great song selections, the one thing we appreciated most was that we could trust him. We did not have to "worry" about the flow, the songs that would be played, etc. (on the day of) because we truly trusted him to use his God-given talent to engage the guests and have a successful dance. We originally chose a DJ for our wedding who ended up being kind of flaky and hard to get ahold of, but after my wife brought the issues up to Shawn he set us up with Auctavius instead. Auctavius was FANTASTIC. He read the room, catered to the few kids we had at our wedding in a way that everyone else enjoyed the songs too, and kept the vibe going the whole party. We had a phone call with him before the wedding where he asked lots of great questions and got us thinking about a few things we hadn't before. There were a few instances where we didn't have a chosen song or timing and told him we would trust his judgement, and I honestly can't remember what those were because they were so seamless and perfect. We used Instant Request for our wedding October 24, 2025 and had the absolute BEST experience with them. Communication was quick and attentive. The event planner they provided to assist with music choices and event flow was super user friendly and made the process so easy. It was very organized and laid everything out for us from ceremony music to open dance floor. Jimmy B was our assigned DJ and he was so FANTASIC!! I seriously cannot say enough good things about him! He is very knowledgeable, professional, and definitely knows how to keep the dance floor full. For our grand entrance, our wedding party came in to Bring 'em Out and then performed the Vikings Skol Chant before we entered to the NFL theme song and Jimmy pulled this transition off flawlessly. Instant Request was so easy to work with during the consultation and booking phase, and kindly and promptly answered all of our questions. They also provided a very thorough template to fill out which was so helpful to make sure no part of planning the day was forgotten! We were lucky enough to be paired with Erin for our wedding day, and she was such a wonderful addition to our wedding day team! She was punctual, well prepared, and helped our day run smoothly! She communicated with our photographer to make sure things stayed on time, and made the requested announcements to guests to make sure everyone know what was going on.
