My fiancée and I booked Instant Request for our wedding, and unfortunately the experience has been very disappointing.We changed our wedding date and had to make that same change with all of our vendors. Every other vendor communicated upfront if the date change affected anything, especially pricing. With Instant Request, we were previously told in writing that the reception DJ would be $820 and the ceremony would be $250. After changing our date, the reception price became $1,030, but we were never told that changing the date would increase the price by $210.We didn’t find out that they considered the date change the reason for the higher price until we questioned our remaining balance months later. Had that simply been communicated upfront, there wouldn’t have been an issue.What is also concerning is that when we went back to the original contract link that was sent before our date change, that same link now opens the updated contract showing the new date and $1,030 price. So we can’t even use the original link to view the version of the contract we initially received and compare what changed.The communication while trying to get answers has also been frustrating, and we ultimately decided to hire someone else for our ceremony DJ services.This isn’t about $210. It’s about transparency and communication. If changing a wedding date changes the price, that should be clearly communicated before accepting payment. And couples should be able to access the documentation showing what they originally agreed to. More...

We hired Instant Request for our August wedding at The Whim in Minneapolis and Tom Ritt was excellent from start to finish. Our setup was more complicated than most: Tom handled ceremony audio, then split the reception with a live band, alternating three DJ sets against their three sets across the entire night. That kind of handoff can get clumsy fast, and it never did once. Every transition was clean, the energy never dropped between sets, and he closed the night out exactly on time. What really set him apart was the prep. We are a Bolivian family, and music mattered to us in a specific way. We sent Tom a detailed set list months out, including a block of Bolivian music most DJs would have never heard of and would have quietly skipped. He learned it, he placed it exactly where we asked, and he announced it properly. Watching both sides of our family fill that dance floor together was one of our favorite moments of the whole night, and it happened because Tom took our list seriously instead of overriding it with his own. He also respected our no guest requests rule without us having to police it. Ceremony audio was flawless, the grand march and all the parent dances hit their cues, and every fade landed where it was supposed to. We had a great experience from start to finish. Getting booked with them was simple as well as the timeline for payments. We entered all of our details into the portal with ease as well . We were assigned DJ Hannah a few weeks before our wedding and it couldn’t have been a better fit. Having Eric from Instant Request as our DJ for our wedding at the Lowlands was incredible. He was not only so friendly, professional, and seamless to work with during the planning process, but on the day, he also absolutely crushed it. He was there from the ceremony to the end of the reception, which involved setting up on two different floors. We had a few unique requests (such as individualized walk up songs for our toast givers during dinner and a number of requested songs that weren’t already in their catalog) that he executed perfectly. The dance floor he curated (which was a combination of our custom playlist selections and adjacent music) was consistently lively for the ~3.5 hours. Additionally, he MC’ed in a very clear and upbeat manner, making sure our guests knew where to be and when. We also opted for an upgraded light display which was 100% worth it (thank you for operating these amazingly, Sean!) as it made the energy in the dance floor even more lively. We got married two months ago and seriously can’t recommend working with instant requests enough! We picked Dj Tevin from the black tie list and couldn’t have picked someone better for us. Any and every request we had, he made sure it happened. He has great communication and personality. If you’re looking for someone fun that knows how to keep the party going all night long, he’s your guy! We had a minor malfunction at our venue to start out the dance, and you would’ve never known anything was wrong. DJ RANDY is all I have to say!!What an incredible experience we were able to have with him at our wedding in July. We were paired with him 2 weeks before our wedding, and although the initial thought of that had us apprehensive, it worked out perfectly. He was a great match for my husband and I.On our wedding day, we had our DJ balancing a few things, from working hand in hand with our harpist, transitions, new ideas/games he hadn’t seen before, to last minute song changes, he accommodated with ease and ensured our day flowed smoothly.He kept our dance floor lively and had nearly EVERY guest engaged. Our FAVORITE part of the night was watching Randy having fun and enjoy himself too. There was a sweet moment where he played Cupid Shuffle and came out to the front of the dance floor and showed off his moves!! We could not have asked for a more fun wedding DJ than Erin! She curated exactly the kind of vibe we were hoping for, and I (the bride) did not leave the dance floor for a single second the entire night! We asked for early 2000s R&B, pop punk, disco, and more and she delivered. In addition to creating our dream dance floor, she was incredibly professional throughout the reception in terms of queuing speakers, teaching people to use the microphone, and providing instructions to guests for events such as the group photo. We had Eric through the black tie service and he blew us out of the park! He was incredibly professional and knew exactly what to do to make the entire wedding run smoothly! We attended a wedding where they hired a DJ through a company similar to Instant Request but they only played songs through SoundCloud and didn’t have so many classic songs available! The whole dance floor was empty. It really scared us and made us upgrade to the black tie service to ensure we could select our DJ. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION! Eric was PHENOMENAL! Jimmy was our DJ, and he absolutely killed it! When we had our call with him a few weeks prior, he really took the time to go through everything and make sure we were on the same page. Our DJ Sergio was AMAZING! We received so many compliments on the music at our wedding. We met with Sergio over the phone a week or so before our wedding to chat about our music selection and he was incredibly kind, professional, and easy to talk to. Instant Request is an easy 5 stars!! My husband and I got married a couple of weeks ago, and were SO lucky to have Jimmy as our DJ. From initial consult, to filling out the surveys, to our final call with Jimmy, the planning portion was so simple and made one step of wedding planning easy.Every part of the ceremony and reception was flawless, and we had no worries at all that this part of our wedding was taken care of by a total professional. We cannot recommend instant request DJ enough. Our original DJ had an accident right before the wedding and we ended up having DJ Tom. I’m not going to lie, I am an huge planner and was a little nervous, but Tom did AMAZING and it was everything we hoped it would be. Before the wedding, the online event planner was super easy to use and provided so much comfort knowing everything was uploaded. The day of the wedding was absolutely seamless, Tom was phenomenal, and he did everything we asked and more. He was amazing at reading the dance floor and keeping everybody engaged, as well as perfecting the timing of everything we did. We used Instant Request DJ for our wedding and they assigned us DJ Seth B. Seth was friendly, professional, quick, flexible, helpful, & fun even joining us on the dance floor one time. He had enough equipment to quickly transition from the outside ceremony to the indoor reception in quick succession. He helped out by making several announcements to the room and had good clear sound.He was excellent at his job as well, blending songs seamlessly from one to the next.
