Our experience with Lay Lo was wonderful. We rescued a fearful puppy with a difficult background and quickly realized we didn’t know how to help her overcome her fears on our own. We were unsure how effective online training would be, but since our pup feels safest at home, we decided to give it a try.

Our trainer, Stephanie, was absolutely amazing. She provided countless resources to help build Poppy’s confidence both at home and out in the world. Her demonstrations were clear and easy to follow, and she always explained the reasoning behind each exercise, which helped us feel confident and supported throughout the process.

As college students, the flexibility Lay Lo offers was especially helpful for us. Our schedules can be unpredictable, and while we weren’t able to attend every practice session, the team consistently checked in to make sure training was going well and that all of our questions were answered. We always felt supported, even when life got busy.

Working with Homeschool by LAYLO was an awesome experience! The trainers definitely know what they are doing and are so patient and friendly! I was skeptical about training through zoom meetings, but I very quickly learned that this is definitely one of the best ways to train your dog. My primary trainer was Shannen and she was always very attentive to my concerns and questions!

I went from my 3 y.o Yorkie having accidents almost every single day to maybe once or twice a week in a span of a couple weeks of the training! I love how they break down how your dog understands and learns since training can be a frustrating task to do at times since humans learn completely differently than dogs. They teach you a lot of useful tips and cues as well that assist you with training.

If you don't see results from the training, I would have to argue that the biggest thing with it is making sure YOU are doing the trainings on your own time outside of the classes and meetings. The trainers are very knowledgeable. It was also so helpful to just be able to send a quick text to my trainers and get feedback on my questions and training videos. The training was fantastic. Karen and Nicole both offered great advice and help with my reactive rottie pup. His behavior has improved significantly- no more dog reactivity at the park and so much better around new people. Both trainers are very knowledgable and both myself and my dog learned a lot. We had a great experience working with Homeschool by LAY LO, especially our trainer, Katie. We were working with TJ, a rescue dog from Tijuana who had significant resource guarding issues and was struggling to coexist with our other high-energy dog, Jackson.

Katie took the time to teach us how to better understand our dogs and their behavior, not just how to correct problems. She helped TJ learn how to relax and integrate into our family in a way that felt realistic and manageable. Along the way, I learned things about dogs and training that I honestly didn’t know before and realized some of my old assumptions weren’t as effective as I thought.

Lay Lo is amazing! Loved that everything was virtual. It made it so easy to schedule our weekly sessions around our busy schedules. It also made it so much easier to jump right into training since our dogs weren’t working directly with a stranger, which was one of the concerns we had. With the main training sessions, check in sessions, worksheets, reference videos and documents, and text support we were provided with more than enough material and support to help our dogs have a happier life. Tracy was absolutely amazing throughout the weeks. She helped us with our different concerns with both our dogs, answered our questions, and made the entire process easy to understand and follow through on. this was such a great way to get the necessary training for our puppy. we came in with direct requests for training, and they tailored a plan for us! they also helped us address other issues as they popped up. there’s a whole team working with our puppy and family, and we were basically able to get around the clock help! the virtual option is the only way to go in my opinion, especially since my pup was timid around other dogs so group training would’ve been counterproductive. i will recommend this company to ANYONE that gets a pup, and any future pups we get will work with this company too! thanks so much shannen and nicole!! I loved working with Erin and her training of my Staffy Pit Wendi. Wendi came to me with a lot of baggage, and Erin helped me turn Wendi around. Wendi now sits by the door before going out (she used just to run out as fast as she could, which got her into a great deal of trouble with the neighbors). Homeschool by LayLo has training experts with extraordinary skills for coaching owners to train dogs. In addition to logged recaps of recorded sessions, we had access to training videos, printouts and a library to enhance a lifelong journey with our dogs after graduation. Extra perks are generous and there for the taking.

We were paired with Tracy, a calm, gentle and patient sensitive anxiety expert whose pleasant disposition brought out the best of Petey and me. “Team Petey” offered comments as I posted notes and videos of our homework prior to sessions with Tracy.

His excessive reactivity and anxiety after the loss of our 13 year old dog had become concern for our personal safety in the car and at home.

Tracy’s weekly sessions have greatly dimmed Petey’s separation anxiety, car rides, vet visits and being around new people. We are enjoying his new course of becoming quiet and laid back, and will continue training him using the skills Tracy gifted us.

Through Tracy’s inspiration of not deliberately putting him in triggering situations, he’s calmer and enjoy’s himself with less chaos, also giving us peace and calm. More...

My biggest fear with Bandit was that he wouldn’t pick up the training but Tracy started us small and worked up to bigger things. Bandit is easier to control and much less reactive. We were at our limit with our 12 year old mini poodle. He had become so grouchy and difficult. He frightened our other two dogs and we were unable to take care of him. After working with Tracy JC is happy and plays nicely with the other two dogs. Tracy is patient and was great at helping us read JC’s body language. We learned he needed pain management. Working with Nicole and LAYLO was an excellent experience. I don't know what we would've done without having Nicole in our corner, during our first weeks with our rescue pup. Great experience. I have a very large, young husky/malamute mix. A main issue was jumping. I was looking for a obedience training class and found Homeschool. It was the perfect setting for him.
