I would highly recommend Guiding Canines to anyone that needs help with dog training from general obedience to dog or people reactivity. My dog Romeo did the 4 week board and train program and it helped a lot with his confidence and ability to stay calm in public environments. Romeo is reactive to people that he doesn’t know and it made it difficult to even walk him around our neighborhood or take him out to pee. We can’t say enough good things about Val and Caleb with Guiding Canines! We’ve done several one-on-one and group training sessions with her, and we’ve made great strides in our dog’s leash reactivity, even after working with other trainers and years of our own training with our dog. Valentina was already helping me train my dog jazzy to be a service dog in the middle of that a trip came up and I was going to go out of town for a week and I’ve never boarded jazzy and asked Valentina if she had room for jazzy and thankfully she did. She sent me photos of jazzy which helped my vacation go by so much better And on top of that she continued to train her to be a service dog. Jazzy has been a great help to me since being trained and she was so well trained and such a good dog anyway that we boarded our first flight together to South America and jazzy did great because of Valentina‘s training! We were fortunate enough to have our two Pom-Fies (Pomeranian & Feist) in the one-month program at Guiding Canines. Val & Caleb spent a great deal of time with our furbabies and treated them with the utmost love, care and respect. And it was evident that they go beyond what they say they will do: they are AMAZING. Do you know that feeling when you find a business and you get this feeling that they can be trusted and they absolutely know what they're doing? This was the case for me with Guiding Canines. I needed help with my foster Bear, it was very last minute. I called Guiding Canines and they were able to get me in. They picked up AND dropped off Bear, which was also a huge help because it saved me so much time. They sent updates during Bear's stay. They are both trainers, so besides having a safe place for Bear to stay, I also had peace of mind knowing that they know what they're doing with the dogs in their care. Val took our willow in last minute for a family emergency and took such amazing care of her for the 13 days that she was there! We have never left her before for that length of time and Val gave me so much peace while we were on the other side of the world! She was so great with communicating with me and keeping me updated with pictures and everything. I knew our Willow was in great hands during such a hard time for us. She worked with her and her behavior/anxiety. If you need to board your doggo, i 100% recommend her and will be using her again in the future. We used Guiding Caines to board out boxer dog. He typically loses weight and is stressed out when we take a vacation and board him. However, this experience was like his own little vacation. He didn't lose any weight and seemed happy and relaxed when we picked up after his stay. We sent our Max boy to Guiding Canines for a 4 week program and enjoyed every minute of it. He obeys and follows commands and most important is very good with kids now with no jumping and being patient! ! We could not have asked for a more perfect experience with Val!! I sent 2 German Shepards to Guiding Canines Nov 9 to Dec 7 and the results were amazing within the 4 weeks timeframe. My dogs did not get alone prior to this training and now they are always looking for one another. Whatever techniques Val and her husband are doing, it works. Val took care of Dash for 10 days when we were out of town. During that time she managed to teach her some new things and relearn somethings we hadn’t been reinforcing. Val is a wealth of knowledge and proved to us our senior dog can still have good manners. She was so patient and kind with all of Dash’s little quirks and behaviors. She sent us pictures and videos of how well Dash was fitting into her situation and gave us updates regularly. It was good to know Dash was getting the attention she normally gets at home. We sent our 4 month old cockapoo puppy Skye to Guiding Canines for Puppy Boot camp. He was a very undisciplined puppy. He has come back being a very disciplined well behaved loving puppy. Rocky just completed his 4 week board and train with Val @ Guiding Canines. We cannot recommend Val’s expertise in training dogs enough!!! She is professional, she is knowledgeable, and she communicates well! We did a board and train with her with both of our mini golden doodles. They needed to learn how to tolerate each other, as well as basic house manner and commands. Before we couldn’t even take them outside without a leash! Now, we can control them inside the house and outside as well. Val is the most gentle with them and has such a calming presence. She not only trains them, but does an excellent job teaching the owners as well. She is always quick to answer any questions we have (still!) and always has wonderful tips! We 100% recommend her!! I cannot recommend Val @ Guiding Canines enough! I have never had a dog trained before. We decided to enroll our bullmastiff puppy (LuLu) in her board & train bootcamp while we were out of town for an extended period. Val was VERY communicative and sent texts & videos almost daily & has answered all my questions in a timely manner. Lulu came home with a leash, e-collar, cot & goody basket. Val really loves my dog and treats her like she’s her own. We have also met up with Val after LuLu completed her board & train to make sure that I am staying on top of everything that she has taught us. LuLu is so much more enjoyable now that she has completed bootcamp & I have been given the proper training tools & guidance.
