In town for a work trip and happened upon this studio. It was lovely, the students in the class were all very friendly, it's clear there's a sense of community among people and that they like coming back. I'm only here for a bit but I come back to Alexandria often and will definitely seek out more classes in the future. More...

Katie is AMAZING! I went through around 10 studios just striking out on private instructors. Either they were terrible with schedules or our personalities just didn't align. Then I decided to give Georgies a try and email them. I received responses from 3 instructors immediately. Katies times worked the best so I went in to give her a change. I am SOOOOOO glad I did! She is fabulous! She really cares about her clients. She is flexible with scheduling (mine is nuts) and makes you laugh even on the days that you are tired and grumpy. I love working with her and cant say enough nice things. The studio has really nice pilates equipment which is a bonus. Nice wood machines and a classical style. More...

I hadn't taken classes on a weekly basis since I moved from DC to VA late last year where I was going to Potomac Pilates several times a week. Started taking classes at Georgie's the last week of April when I signed up for a 6 week Beginner/Intermediate level reformer class with Denise. The first class she was pretty easy on us but it got progressively harder, which I really appreciated it. I liked the fact that she also incorporated jump board and even tower during some classes. The style is different from what I'm used to and so are the reformers. I'm also used to taking classes where we'd begin with a warm up of leg circles and stretching before jumping right in. I will say I'm used to doing a lot more repetition so you really feel like you've actually completed a workout when you're done and you're sore in the morning. The studio itself is an open space that has an area for mat classes, reformer, chair/a small area for a private apparatus class. If you have a short attention span it can be somewhat distracting when another class is going on. I wish the machines were facing a mirror so that I can see what I'm doing and if my position is correct. Overall it's a nice studio. I miss being able to go several times a week with unlimited classes for around $200/month versus 6 classes for $180, it's typically $37 per class if you drop in. More...

I have been searching for new Pilates studio, and stumbled across Georgies.  From my initial email, I have felt warmly welcomed.  Georgie cc'd her teachers, who all got in contact with me.  I've been doing mat Pilates off and on for about a year, and just started the 6 week beginner reformer series.  I am impressed with the great customer service, and loved Jen's class!  She's fantastic, very informative, and hands on.  The small class sizes are ideal, to ensure proper form and alignment!  I was worried about parking, but as Jen informed me, there is free 2 hour parking a couple blocks up on St. Asaph.  I had zero issues!  The facility is beautiful and spotless, and there is a water cooler to fill your own bottle.  I also noticed their were some basic toiletries provided in the restroom--  hairspray, facial cleansing wipes, etc.  A nice touch  :) Thanks Georgie and Jen! I love this place. I have been taking plates reformer classes on and off for 3 years. I recently moved here and decided to try, Georgies, and I'm really glad I did. So far, I've taken classes with Jean and Kyoko- both awesome and I look forward to entering that beautiful space and getting a great work out. What I didn't expect was the friendly members. Every single person who goes there is happy, friendly and inclusive. I've been invited to coffee after every class and people seem genuinely pleased to see each other and have fun working out together. Yes, Pilates is not cheap, but their drop in rates are more than reasonable and I will work hard to make sure I can continue to attend. Another Old Town gem! More...

SUCH a great space, and the teachers are all really supportive and encouraging, even if you've never done core barre, pilates or mat before! I started with a LivingSocial 2 class pass just over a year ago, and I've been going three times a week ever since. I'm totally addicted! All the instructors are great and really nice, and will help you find the class that is the best fit for your workout needs! More...

I couldn't agree more - this is a great space!! I tried this place out througha  living social deal I received and am very seriously considering a membership. The class was great - not too crowded and a great instructor & pace of class. The overall layout of the studio is nice as well - it is almost sectioned off so that each class doesn't even realize there is other stuff going on outside of their class. It is a bit pricey though, which is its only drawback in my opinion. I'm excited for my next class here! More...

This is a wonderful studio, both for the setting and the instructors and level of teaching. Â I agree with all of the other reviewers. Â There is a wide range of options for classes, times, and levels of fitness. Â The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, bright and very friendly. Â I have taken classes for Pilates and Core Barre with various instructors, including Georgie and found all of them to be knowledgeable and great instructors. Â This is by far the best pilates studio in the Washington Metropolitan area More...

Came here for the two class "pass" with living social for their core barre classes. The location is easy to find but parking is a little bit of an issue if you come at a busy time in Old Town. We opted for Saturday morning workouts and we had no problems with street parking. The loft space is beautiful, lots of natural sunlight, space and equipment. No funky smells and everyone was really helpful there. There are often two classes going on at once (Pilates and Core Barre when I was there). A worry of mine was that it would be distracting, but luckily it wasn't! We were told to come dressed for working out, and we'd be barefoot. No mats or weights were required, they provided everything. The class size was a bit big for the space but its easy to space out and have enough room. There were plenty of mats and 2lb weights for the class, and both instructors were excellent. I especially liked Kyoko yesterday. She was a little difficult to hear over a fan and the music but she was easy to learn from. She counted loud so it helped me keep the pace. I think she figured out that I couldn't hear her well and apologized after class when we were cleaning the mats. The classes seem to be reasonably priced after a quick study of their website and its easy to sign up using the Mind Body login. More...

I agree with the other reviewer- this is an absolutely lovely space. Â Located on the second floor above the Bank of America there, it looks down on King Street. Â The studio is spacious and wonderfully kept. Â The instructors are knowledgable and very friendly. Â This was my first plunge into the Pilates World, and I have loved it. Â I've worked with Pamela, who is a wonderful teacher. Â The best part about this studio is that the classes are limited to about 6 people, which means it is more expensive, but you do get a lot of one-on-one time with the instructors. Â That attention to detail has been fantastic in getting the most out of my workout. Â I have only had experience on the Reformer, but the Core Barre classes are full, and look to be challenging, as are the mat classes. Â Thanks to Georgie's Pilates Loft for a wonderful introduction and some great workouts! More...
