Mike from FM did my wife and I's wedding and we couldn't have been happier about it. He did our officiant services and our DJ services, and was excellent at both. Leading Up ------------ Mike was very on top of responding to us and was basically available 24/7 if we had concerns or questions. He was thorough in getting the required paperwork to us to fill out, as well as going through it and having a conversation with us the week before the wedding about finalizing certain song choices and the do not play list. Officiant --------- Mike was there before our rehearsal time and was very thorough in getting us all together, explaining what was happening and when, and walking is through it in steps as well as real time. We attribute the ceremony going so smoothly to this. He also added to our ceremony script we sent him with his own flair that added much needed time to what would have been a very short wedding otherwise. DJ --- Mike got, and KEPT, the party going for us. I'm not much of a dancer usually, but even I was on the floor having the time of my life. If you're worried about every song being a "dance together song" (i.e. electric slide, cotton-eye Joe, etc), fear not, as Mike only played two of those songs for us, and one was the very first song just to get people up and moving. I reached out to Mike for a request that is normally not on his menu...my father died and my father was not a fan of having his photograph taken and we did not have any home movies of him (he would not participate in those either). Distraught at his passing and trying to make arrangements I was at a loss of what to do, I reached out to Mike and FM Sound Productions for help. Mike was so compassionate and told me not to worry he would figure something out. He requested a few photos and asked me a few questions. My father did a documentary for the History channel, Mike found it!!! He added clips of the documentary, photos of him, and the perfect music! What inspired you to start your own business?
I started FM Sound Productions because music wasn’t just something I did — it was the thread running through my entire life, and eventually it became impossible not to build something of my own around it.
? The core inspiration: a lifelong relationship with music
From the beginning, I wasn’t just a “DJ.” I was a musician, a creator, and a storyteller. I played saxophone, guitar, bass, piano, and drums — not casually, but with the kind of fluency that comes from living inside music. That multi instrument background shaped how I hear a room, how I read energy, and how I understand the emotional arc of an event.
My recording studio added another layer: producing, arranging, and shaping sound taught me how to craft experiences, not just playlists.
And then there was radio — morning show DJ, jingle writer, advertising creator. That world sharpened my timing, my humor, my ability to connect with people, and my instinct for what grabs attention. It also taught me how to communicate clearly, warmly, and with personality — something that later became a signature of my brand.
