I had the pleasure of having Emery’s cater our wedding at The Providence G pub on 10/11/24. From first booking Emery’s until the very end, Liz was professional and communicative. She was very quick to answer any questions I had via email, and was a joy to talk to when we had our tasting. On the day of our wedding Liz and her team put out all my decor (I would like to think I had a moderate amount, probably about 5-6 bins of stuff). The ballroom looked beyond stunning when I first saw it. I am still waiting on the ballroom details picture from my photographer but everything I had purchased looked amazing. When it came to the food, we ordered the Filet, the salmon, chicken cordon blue and stuffed shells for our guests. The food was warm, and so good. I had multiple guests say it was some of the best wedding food they ever had. Also I was SO happy we did the late night snack of the french fries. I do not know how they kept them so fresh, but the fries were crispy, and all of the sauces and spices to put on them was my favorite. At the end of the night Liz offered me and my husband packed up meals just in case we did not eat enough. The staff at Emery’s was great accommodating my guests with allergies, and gluten sensitivity. When it came time for the dessert to be served her staff brought the gluten free cupcakes I ordered directly to my gluten free guests so they weren’t mistakenly taken as regular dessert. Not only was Emery’s food amazing, but also they have a really great price point. The only way we were about to have our wedding at The G was because of their affordable prices.With some of the other caterers on the G’s list, we would have been out of budget. Rebecca and her team at Emery's catering went above and beyond to make our wedding fantastic. From my first emails with Rebecca to the end of our night, Rebecca was response, accommodating, flexible and relaxed, making for a smooth and memorable night. The food was excellent with guests raving about their dishes. We went with beef short ribs, chicken picatta and a stuffed portabella mushroom for our options. The beef short ribs were a show stopper, featuring a large portion with bones in for eye appeal! The meat was tender and delicious. The potatoes and asparagus were excellent as well. Rebecca was happy to accommodate each of us as my wife wanted mashed potatoes while I preferred the fingerling potatoes. Rebecca agreed to do this without hesitation! The appetizers at cocktail hour (bacon wrapped scallops, chicken and waffles and bruschetta) were all excellent. The bartenders were expedient and courteous. If I was to be super picky, I would ask for slightly larger cups as the drinks were made in small cups which meant more frequent trips to the bar. In addition to food, drink and drink service, Rebecca acted as an on site, day of coordinator. Rebecca worked seamlessly with our florist, DJ, photographers, day of assistant, cake baker, cocktail hour musician and venue representatives to pull everything together. Emerys was great to work with for our June 2024 Newport RI wedding! They are way more cost efficient than some of the other catering companies in Newport, and the food is REALLY good! They gave us a tasting, did family style service for us as a special request, and accommodated a late-in-planning venue change for us very seamlessly. They were flexible on the headcount of our wedding, did not overcharge for silly things/hide costs until the last minute, and they made working with some of our other vendors like florals/decor etc smooth and easy, handling all the communciations. This is the first bad review I have ever written… In May I got married and had Emery's Catering cater my wedding. If I could go back I would have never put the deposit down…. Elizabeth did nothing but add stress to my big day! At first she comes across as nice but once the deposit is down it’s her way or the highway. My husband and I got married in a smaller venue. Therefore our wedding and reception had to be in the same room. We had multiple issues with Elizabeth. First we had issues with the flip. Elizabeth didn’t want to flip anything during cocktail hour. She wanted everything to be set up and push to the side before the ceremony. Mind you the bar is right where we are getting married. She told me she would push it to the side and I wouldn’t even notice it. Elizabeth would not budge and was very rude. Eventually after multiple phone calls and emails she allowed me to pay an extra $500 to set up the inside bar during cocktail hour. The rest of the stuff was pushed to the side like she envisioned. Mind you this venue “The Dye House” told me multiple other caters were able to do the flip during cocktail hour. The second issue we had was on my wedding day. My theme was emerald green and black. We picked out the colors in person prior to the wedding. On the day of my wedding a few hours before I am about to get married I come out to mardi gras green table cloths. My sister in law went up to her in her emerald green dress and told her she made a mistake. She denied her mistake and said that is what I would have to deal with because it’s all they had with them. They offered no solution. THANKFULLY a friend ran and rented black table cloths down the street. The third issue I had was where our cocktail hour location was. I wanted the bar outside and the food inside this cute little backroom. The venue is unique and we wanted to utilize all it’s features. Everything was confirmed and agreed on. Then on the day of the wedding Elizabeth tried to switch things up and have the food outside as well. I stood up for myself and told her no. Come to find out after getting married while walking to get my pictures done. I had to move a few of her things out from the walkway that went from the drinks to the food. She obviously wasn’t happy I stood my ground. The fourth problem was the food allergies/preferences. I have a pescatarian friend who wanted the baked crab stuffed scrod without the lobster newburg sauce. Elizabeth told me it could be done prior to the wedding. Then I find out after my wedding that my friend was told it couldn’t be done and she had to have the eggplant parm. She told me she got a stomach ache because it definitely had cheese in it even though they told her it wouldn’t. This on top of other people saying they got served the wrong item when I made a nice organized list of everyone’s orders and tables. Overall this company was a disappointment and I would not recommend to anyone. The food was good but the stress was not worth it. More...

We had a great experience working with Emery's! Elizabeth was super helpful and well prepared for all our meetings. We really appreciated that the service included catering and rentals. Our wedding was outdoors in the summer, and Emery's took care of the tent, tables, chairs, etc. The set up timeline was a little tight, but the Emery's staff did an amazing job getting everything ready, and the presentation was beautiful! The food was great, and many of our guests told us how tasty it was! We liked that there were many meal, serving and pricing options. They were very accommodating with dietary restrictions and allergies, and they provided booster seats for the kids. We also found Emery's to be a lot more affordable than the other options. Emery's catered our June 2024 wedding and we couldn't be happier with the experience! -To start, the food portions were GIANT. The guests were raving about the food which was super impressive since our venue didn't have a kitchen or anything but Emery's was able to pull it off flawlessly. -The value was also wonderful. The prices are very reasonable for the different bar packages, appetizers, etc. -The catering staff was really friendly the day of the wedding and they were able to set up all our decor perfectly. We rented tables, chairs, dancefloor, and a wedding arch and again, everything worked out flawlessly so we were able to relax the day of. -Elizabeth was our wedding coordinator and we worked with a few other Emery's staff along the way - mostly via email which was efficient and easy. -Oh and we asked for a carrot cake for our wedding cake and weren't sure if we would get one or just a normal cake, but they made us an AMAZING carrot cake - we definitely won't be freezing it so we can enjoy it all now. 10/10 recommend them for your wedding! There are no words to describe how happy my wife and I am right now. The group that Emery's Catering sent to work our daughters wedding are the best! . Attentive to everyone's needs, extremely professional and yet somehow we didn't even know they were there. We had 150 guests in attendance and the food was beyond good, everything from the green beans to the filets and chicken were cooked to perfection. Still trying to figure out how the chef cooked 130+ Filets perfectly, the bartenders were engaging, funny and made sure we all had a great night without overserving anyone and the group of servers that worked the tables were all fantastic I cant say enough about them and the whole Emery's Team. Emery's was a recommended vendor for Five Bridge Inn where we had our wedding. The last couple of weeks before the wedding were quite stressful and Emery's was a big part of this stress. Liz worked with us and was very quick to respond to our emails; however there were a lot of miscommunications. We came up with a floor plan/ table layout with our venue coordinator and sent it to Emery's weeks before the event. Emery's decided to make their own layout, ignoring the sizing and placement of the tables. After several phone calls and emails with Emery's and the venue, we were able to ensure the placement was correct. But, three days before the wedding, we learned that Emery's had only ordered linens for small tables. They claimed that was what we wanted despite our written documentation of plans to use a mix of small and large tables. At this point, they also let us know it was too late for them to order the correct linens despite this being their mistake.
