Very condescending... Way overpriced and underperforming. Sending correspondence to incorrect address and blaming client for their mistakes. Went to H&R Block prior to calling him. They told me for what I needed it was going to be $99 per year. This man is wanted to charge me $1000 per year. I'm honestly shocked that there are no other reviews about his prices. I called my friend who's a tax specialist. She also specializes in helping those who owes taxes and she told me my situation isn't expensive since I only have w2s and don't owe anything so she doesn't know why he quoted me this much. Please reconsider people. I wouldn't want you to get ripped off. Response to his comment below: I clearly specified that it was an amended tax return because I missed one w2 form. And also specified I'm an educator and don't make much. After consulting with my friend, I was disgusted that I was quoted so much for something that doesn't cost much. You can call H&R Block and they will tell you the amended form is $99. I continued to call other places and was not quoted this much. This is why I decided to write this review. I had a frustrating and complicated tax issue involving a corrected 1099 that wasn't properly communicated to the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board. This resulted in a large, incorrect tax debt that I struggled to resolve on my own. I tried contacting the IRS and CA Franchise Tax Board directly but only ended up making things worse. Completely overwhelmed, I turned to Eagle Tax Resolution for help, and I'm so glad I did!The team at Eagle Tax Resolution was absolutely fantastic. I reached out through Yelp and Joe responded within a few hours. We set up a phone call and he was very professional and upfront stating what I needed wasn't a good fit for his services. I sincerely appreciate the honesty of what a business can do and can't do. I've dealt with other businesses that will take my business and not perform, which led me to my current situation. The reason why I chose to reach out to Joe, it states that this is a veteran owned business. My partner and I are veterans and we prefer to do business with our brothers and sisters. Joe was quick to respond to my request for information. He was pleasant eager and knowledgeable over the phone. He responded pretty promptly to my first email request about some questions I had about his forms. I paid his deposit for engaging his services on July 26. The necessary paperwork was generated quickly, which I signed immediately. Since then, I've received very little in the way of response to my request for status on my past taxes. I've sent again this morning a detailed request for status to his bucket email account and the emails of two of his associates. I have received emails from these associates in the past giving their email addresses. The response I received this morning was that neither of these email addresses are monitored and to use the bucket "help@" email address. Well, if neither of these emails are monitored, why are they included in the emails they send out? I'm holding onto an optimistic view of this, but beginning to become a little skeptical about this operation. Consider this a tentative review that I am posting to hopefully get the response that I'm requesting. I will update as more information becomes available. 8/12/24 4:23 PM update Joe has responded and answered the questions I had. The review is now 4 stars, with one off simply because I felt I had to post this review in order to get a response. I left a detailed 5 star review on Google but I'll do a review here on Yelp cuz he's that good!! I was dealing with addiction in my thirties and didn't pay taxes for 3 years and it all caught up with me. IRS wanted their money $74k(about 30k was penalties and interest) now and froze my checking account. Levied my paycheck. Joe was able to resolve that in 1 day!!! I'm willing to pay back the taxes but IRS wouldn't work out affordable payment plan. Joe was able to work out a payment I could afford while paying my bills. $1500 per month instead of $3000. Okay, this review is a long time coming. I help run an animal rescue and before the lockdown our treasurer quit. Needless to say with Covid, lockdowns and general craziness we neglected to file our 2019 taxes and when we did hire someone in 2020 to catch us up they didn't do anything. Our taxes just sat on his desk because he was confused about how to properly file taxes for a 501(c)3. It wasn't until we received a letter from the IRS suspending our 501(c)3 status in 2022 that we realized we had a huge problem. We thought it was an impossible situation, but we met with and consulted with Joe. Joe not only filed our 2019-2022 taxes but he also helped us get our 501(c)3 reinstated with the IRS. Joe walked us through everything, helped us correct our situation quickly and at a very reasonable fee. Honestly, you can't do better. If you need help Eagle Tax is where you will find it.
