We scheduled Harvey into Dog Training In Your Home from a friend's suggestion. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID. Harvey has come a long way with his training. He's learned a lot as we have also. Due to unforeseen circumstances I became the sole owner of my 26 month old 3/4 European Doberman. I am a 5’1” female that weighs just as much as he does. I needed immediate help training him and myself so I could handle him for walks, with guests in our home and overall obedience management. I initially had him do 2 week board and train with an e-collar for $2000. After the first week home I quickly realized that this training was not going to be a long term solution. Brax, being as smart as he is understood that obedience was tied solely to the collar, with it off he would jump back into his old patterns. As well as when he felt really defiant he would resist the increased sensation from the collar. I realized I needed a better trainer that would allow me to mange Brax without relying on the collar. I found Robert and explained my situation. After our initial meeting I already felt relief. In home training, once a week for five weeks was his guarantee. After week one I was able to walk him to my comfort which was big for me. With our continued weekly training, I had tools and commands that proved effective and has brought great change in Brax’s behavior. Friends and family have noticed the difference and are amazed at the results. This is my second time using these dog training classes. I had a German Shepherd that was older when I got her, and I wanted her to be able to travel with me. They helped me get her to listen to me and behave around other dogs and people. I have a new puppy now, and I called them and Robert Varney came. Order has been restored in our home thanks to Robert! We sent our Boykin to an overnight out-of-town boarding facility. Unfortunately, after much time and expense we all still needed training ( us included). We were reluctant to try something again but our dog was disrupting meal times, pulling during walks and eating socks. We knew we had to give training another try. After the first session with Robert, he gave us the tools to sit down to dinner again with our family, puppy included, peacefully- without begging or barking. He was dedicated to working on each problem area. He works hard to teach the owners the tools to work with the dog so they stick after he leaves -which is what was lacking from the other training. 10/10 recommend Dog Training in Your Home and especially Robert Varney! Robert has been working with our 10 month old mini golden doodle (Dallas) for the last month or so with our main concerns being basic obedience and walking on a leash. Dallas has learned many commands and in just one session has learned how to better walk on a leash. Robert is very knowledgeable and knows what your dog will do before they even do it. You can tell he is very experienced. In addition, Robert has worked with me and my husband’s busy schedule, coming out multiple times to be able to show both of us when we can’t attend the session together. I totally wasted money with a prior company using their 'In-home boarding program' for my 2 puppies. Robert's experience and education made me comfortable enough to try again. Alora came into our lives and made training my girls so much easier. She's so knowledgeable and excellent at what she does. I call her the 'dog whisperer'. She knows what and how they think. My girls totally loved and respected her. She taught me how to get the same result from them. I can't recommend them highly enough! The trainer I worked with was very patient and helpful with my partner and I while we navigated training our dogs. The puppy distribution system determined that I was going to find a puppy under my car. Divine scrolling on FB/Google found Robert. Even though he was leaving in a day for vacation, he came and assessed Buddy, and determined the little dumped pup needed a lesson before he left the next morning! So at the crack of dawn, Robert is giving me and Buddy a lesson on not biting since that was his favorite thing to do. Robert’s consistent training of Buddy and me has expanded our bond and trust. Best dog training experience I’ve had! Such a plus having someone come to my home and train my dogs (& me) in our home environment. Alora was excellent…patient with me and my dogs. My dogs fell in love with her, literally had smiles on their faces when she was here. They learned A LOT and I plan to continue reinforcing what they learned. Our dog, Wayha would not even allow us to put a collar or leash on him and he was very aggressive. Robert has changed Wayha into a total different dog. We can now take him on walks, ride in the vehicle, he no longer runs to the door when someone knocks or ring the door bell. If you're looking for this company to housebreak your dog, don't look here. All they give you is a schedule for you to take a dog out(which i already had that in place). You can do that yourself. Just go on youtube and save yourself some money. Robert did my evaluation on January 8. I got 6 weeks of training for 1,000, which I'm not satisfied with. When he came out for my evaluation, I specifically stated that my dog needed house broken, and he said we could help with that, but that was a LIE AND THEY DON'T DO ANY HOUSE BREAKING ON DOGS. We’ve been working with Stephen on training our GSP puppy Decker and I would highly recommend him! Decker loves his trainer & is always excited for his training sessions. The training itself is practical & easy to understand & the “homework” is reasonable & doable even with our busy schedules. Julia shoup was a great teacher and very knowledgeable about puppy training. she was very patient and took the time to explain the procedures and steps to ensure that both Annabelle (my puppy) and my family understands the importance of all of us being on the same training techniques. we were provided with a training log and potty log to show we are following the training techniques that we were showed weekly and that we were sticking to a training schedule. Julia is so great. During our training she's helped my baby yorkie poo learn commands and help learn to potty train. He's so energetic and looses focus quickly but she's been able to help us channel through that and he's doing so much better. Thank you Julia.

Ask for Julia! Our Cedric was so comfortable with Julia from the minute the two of them met. He is a very active mini schnauzer puppy, and he was almost 6 months old when the training began. Cedric can be difficult and quite defiant when he wants to be. Julia took charge immediately, and I was amazed to see how Cedric naturally followed her lead with each of the different practices and sessions. She pointed out things I was doing incorrectly along the way which helped tremendously. Again, ask for Julia! You won’t be disappointed. She loves dogs and is a gem! Julia is great!! She is a newer trainer, but is passionate in what she does. She worked with our VERY HYPER labradoodle puppy, Kai, and he has done amazing! We received a basic 5 week package, and Kai is able to follow all of his commands and some of which we only need to give the hand signal for!! Like with any puppy consistency and practice is key. Julia was flexible with us, answered all of our questions and was easy to get a long with! It truly felt like a friend was coming in the home to work us. Before training Julia Kai was all over the place Now we can set him in place, he can wait for extended periods of time, and slowly learning how to interact and be respectful to other dogs. I recommend having Julia Shoup to come to your home and train your four legged companion. She treated my puppy with a lot of love in which he gladly returned. Julia provided me great tips to help me to continue enforcing what she taught us in each lesson. She is very knowledgeable about training, good homemade dog treats, and collars. We were very impressed with the training session in our home today. The trainer Stephen explained what and why he was doing each component of the training session. He was able to use commands to get our dog to act as required. He also explained that it was our training that will create the proper behaviors in our pet. He left us training activities to be performed prior to our next session. He answered all of our questions with detailed explanations of how to handle behaviors. We are extremely satisfied with the dog trainers from DTIYH Columbia. They are professional, friendly, and very adaptive to our dynamic family. They have assisting us with establishing positive behavior from our puppy and teaching us how to correct our bad habits as well as the puppies! They have covered getting along with our cat, respecting our 2 yr old grandson and modifications to accommodate a disabled family member. This is our second review for Stephen as our trainer. We wanted to give credit where credit is due. Since we’ve wrapped up our basic training for Sydney, we’ve run into a few post-training behavioral related issues. Stephen has always responded to our calls and has always given us ways to solve the issues. He’s even come back out to our home to assist when needed. Over the last few months, Sydney’s fear of baths has drastically increased. The fear had gotten so bad that when the mobile groomer came to our home, we could not get Sydney in the van. My wife reached out to Stephen and he offered to meet her at a self-wash dog grooming station to start working thru the fears. It took 2 times meeting up to get Syd where she needed to be in terms of not freaking out over the bath process. Today was the second session and significant progress was made. We are now confident that Syd can now endure a bath! Not only are we proud of Sydney for putting a big dent in her fear, but SO THANKFUL that Stephen was willing to take time to go above and beyond to get us to this point. Stephen is a SUPER trainer!
