I had the pleasure of working with Ellen McNamara to prepare my parents' home for sale, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Ellen has an incredible talent for utilizing what was already in the home and supplementing it with just the right pieces to elevate each space. Every room was transformed into a clean, sleek, and inviting environment that showcased the home’s best features. Her attention to detail and creative approach made such a difference—it was like seeing the home through fresh eyes. I highly recommend Ellen to anyone looking to make their home stand out on the market. More...

It was a Joy!! She guided me thru a lot of decisions that I couldn't possibly have made on my own. My house was hit by a tree that destroyed the whole left side so we were, esentially, putting Humpty-Dumpty back together again. She was INVALUABLE!!!!!!

Thank you so much, Rosie! I loved working with you on your stunning home! It deserved every bit of care we gave it. So glad you're happy!
What do you love most about your job?
Creating a layered interior design for my clients that tells their story and makes their home their own.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always loved creating beautiful spaces, but I didn't realize it was something I could do as a career. A former art teacher, I stayed home to raise my children and found I was able to apply my creativity and design skills to interiors in my own home, as a volunteer for house tours, and for friends and family. I also came to realize that what came so naturally to me that I took it for granted, was not something that most people could do. After hearing multiple people insist I could do this for a living, I gave it a go!
Why should our clients choose you?
I love what I do, I am empathetic to my clients' needs and wants for their homes, and I have honed my artist's eye to compose interiors that are balanced, unified and proportionally correct. I reuse furnishings when I can, reupholstering, painting, and repairing as needed, I respect budgetary constraints, and I strive to provide a transparent and collaborative process from start to finish.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
To an extent, I can. Given measurements, photos, videos and design inspirations, I can help remote clients complete their projects on their own. Ideally, I prefer to work with clients within 20 miles of Ridgewood and/or Long Beach Island, so I can easily do site visits as needed.
