I went with creation swells photography during my visit in Kona for my maternity family pictures, and Shannon was very nice and professional before and during our session. I did not know much about what I wanted in a session and she provided examples about lighting, location, time, etc to help me decide what kind of pictures I wanted. She knew how to take great photos in terms of lighting, the wind, sun, etc. very knowledgeable. She responded promptly when we messaged on yelp, I highly recommend creation swells photography. Excellent person to work with. She was very professional and so personable and friendly. Excellent comm through and through. Even though we didn't quite do a run through before hand she captured so many great shots. It was my first ever time in Hawaii and I appreciate that she was able to capture those firsts for me. First sunset and first time seeing the water, it was truly amazing. I appreciate the time she took on us and the different posing scenarios that she suggesTed. Made us feel so comfortable and all we could tell each other was how amazing this photography session was. It was also my graduation photo session and couples session. I can't wait to book her again. We took family pictures of our 10 year wedding anniversary at Hapuna Beach (near the Westin) and we thought Shannon did an awesome job. She worked with me, my wife, and my 6 old daughter to catch some stunning photos at sunset, both at Turtle point and at the beach. The photos came out really well and Shannon provides a ton of value with her pricing. Definitely would recommend her for any family looking to capture family photos on the Big Island! More...

Creation Swells Photography was better than excellent. They responded timely in every instance that we reached out. They worked quickly to get a needed permit to photo in our location of choice. They took the time to understand the style of photos that I wanted. The weather conditions were not in our favor but somehow the photos knocked our socks off! They worked the weather conditions into the photos and produced amazing results! There were 40 mile per hour wind gusts and I love our photos!! The hardest part now is trying to choose my favorites! 10/10 Would Recommend! Shannon is a professional, experienced, talented photographer and was such a pleasure to work with! !! She went above and beyond to take time to discuss our engagement photo desires and style. Her images have brought so much joy to my fiance and me, but also many times over to our friends and family with whom we shared our photos. (It is featured on our wedding website!) Coming from out of state, Shannon made us feel completely comfortable by providing guidance on recommended shooting locations, knowledge on required permits, and selected perfectly romantic settings for an engagement photoshoot. I found Shannon just two days before my planned proposal date. She was very responsive and detailed and we were able to plan a surprise proposal including signals within that short time! Shannon was very flexible with pricing options as well and was willing to work with me per my requirements.

On the day of the proposal, Shannon was there ahead of time and was already shooting photos of us discretely. Once I proposed - I called Shannon out, we continued with some candid and staged photos.
