SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT! CHEF CASSEY'S KITCHEN in nearby Eustace is A M A Z I N G !!! Though 'AMAZING' doesn't do justice to the plethora of gastronomic delights I enjoyed at her Kitchen today. (the food was good too ;-)...) In deference to all eateries in the area, Chef Cassy's food is far and above THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD IN HENDERSON COUNTY. (I’ve lived here 36+ yrs.) Located in an unobtrusive white building, at 304 W HWY 175, (between the post office & Dollar Store) Pplleeaassee don't let the outside fool you - For inside. OOoohhh, INSIDE awaits the very best fried catfish, hushpuppies, onion rings, Bar-B-Que, and (wait for it....) fried collard greens (yep! that's right!) this side of the pearly gates of heaven. Don't get me wrong, I hate collard greens, yet I L O V E Chef Cassey's fried collard greens. The fried catfish is what all catfish aspire to be - yes, it's THAT good! The onion rings are the reason we've cried over onions for centuries - they ARE as God intended. The hushpuppies will make the entire table shut their mouths and HUSshhhh while enjoying every single second of other-worldly-wonder they present to the palate. Cafe Du Monde dreams of the day their beignets will match those of Chef Cassy. Ya'll HAVE to try Chef Cassy's Kitchen in Eustace! It is absolutely AMAZING! They have a large variety of items on their menu and everything we have tried is truly beyond yummy! The Gumbo, Brisket, Smoked Bologna, Catfish, Fried Pickles & Banana Pudding are just a few things we personally love! Hunted down some local black eye peas. Started off with hush puppies 😋 then had black eye peas with sausage and we also tried the loaded baked potato. There are so many things that I recommend at Chef Cassy's.....from the stuffed baked potato with pulled pork to the shrimp salad to the fried collard greens. There was a wait for our group of 6 on Friday night, but it was so worth it! We had catfish, brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, okra, brisket mac and cheese and pecan pie. Everything was perfection! Roger Bridger sang and played guitar. He was fantastic and kept everyone engaged. Customers were visiting with each other like old friends. The environment was welcoming and family friendly. Chef Cassy came out and visited with us when she had a minute to breathe. Big thanks to her friend, Cookie, who was filling in and waited on our group. She was super sweet and hustled all night to make sure everyone was taken care of. We all loved it and will definitely be back! The best fried fish I’ve ever had! Fish and hush puppies cooked and seasoned perfectly! Very fresh! If it wasn’t on the menu I wouldn’t have even thought it was catfish! Mac and cheese was delicious and cheesy, tarter sauce on point, not like some places that put weird Ingredients in it. But I have to make a special mention for the fried Brussel sprouts, absolutely delicious! Sautéed and drizzled in a balsamic reduction. Yumm! Highly recommended 10/10 More...

I had the Catfish Special which included hush puppies and crinkle French fries. It was the best I had ever had. My husband had wings and he said his wings were delicious. We had her famous fried collard greens which were yummy. I could have had those for a meal. We were able to bring our own wine which is nice. Chef Casey came out and talked to us. Fried catfish was so good! We started with the fried collards as an appetizer and so so good. My Yankee husband even loved them and he’s not used to greens 🤣. The stuffed baked potato put us in a food coma. Wish we lived closer! We had to bring our desert home because no room left. It it’s chocolate cake and banana pudding. Even the iced tea was so good. my first time experience visiting chef Cassy's kitchen wasn't all that great. I ordered a 2pc catfish entree $10 and an order of (3pc) deep fried collard greens $12 totalling with tax $24 and some change. first off.it took about 25/30 minutes(maybe longer)to get my food. after getting it I go out to my vehicle and before leaving I decided to check my plate. and that's when I noticed they forgot to put my hush puppies on there. so I go back in to let them know and it took them over a minute or so to get them to me. but no biggie. after further inspection of the plate I noticed that I had only gotten one filet cut in half to actually give the illusion of TWO FILETS. I was a bit disappointed because when advertising 2pc catfish you're expecting to get TWO WHOLE FILETS not one cut in half(false advertising). so that definitely made that entree a bit overpriced. and the deep fried collard greens was much smaller than the size they are sold at the fair. definitely not worth $4 a piece. more like $1.25/piece which they should be sold at half the price. overall, I feel she is a bit overpriced based on the amount of food you actually get. and I'm not trying to keep anyone from patronizing her restaurant because the taste of the food was on point as always. it's just the quantity of the food is the disappointment. so I definitely encourage you to go and try her out if you've already haven't. your experience may be greater than mine🤷🏾‍♂️ More...

We DoorDash’d a few things I had to try, first thing we opened was the brisket Mac n cheese. I swear I heard angels singing when I tried that! Is that Gouda I taste? Oh, what a fantastic cheese to compliment a brisket! Perfection! The next we opened was the loaded potato with the shrimp alfredo ontop, first off these shrimp are huge, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The potato is massive. There’s absolutely no shortage of food. It was so delicious! Nice bit of Cajun seasoning. Just delicious! We had to also try the grilled cheese, yes add brisket! OMG! So much brisket on there. Fantastic grilled cheese! And I saved my favorite for last: the jerk ribs! I’m a messy eater when the food is great, after my first bite of those ribs- those ribs became my focus!!
