I stumbled upon the cutest cafe It was the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and delight. My enjoyment surpassed with their menu selections I really didn't want to leave. Ok so the eats! I'm allergic to avocado and well their menu has plenty of it so asked their amazing staff to order for me. I had the Caprese Toast on quinoa bread and it was FANTASTIC! So simply yet so good. Their avocado toast! Wow delicious! We met up with some friends here for a meeting and we're pleasantly surprised with this coffee place. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty packed inside, most seats were taken. We ordered an avocado toast with prosciutto and feta cheese and it was delicious! Great portion and amazing flavor. Went there for the first time today. The coffee was good and the vibe was great. However, I had been there for about an hour working on schoolwork with my laptop and clearly taking notes when the employee came up and asked me to leave my table because a customer just came in wanting a table. She gave me no reason and said I could find somewhere else to sit. I have never had this happen to me at any coffee shop and was offended when this happen. When I sat on a couch, now with no table to take notes, the man who wanted my table was there just chatting with a friend with no use for a table. Love the feel of this coffee shop, regardless of which one of their stores you go to! I have been to both the pompano (Great customer service! ) and the parkland location. Both store are very consistent with their food and drinks. I love getting their arugula Parmesan toast and their iced lattes or iced caramel macchiato. The only downfall I would say is they are not consistent with honoring their retail coupons. Carmela (all of their stores) are on the coffee shop deals but this store does not honor it. This is a cute local coffee spot, I came here years ago and didn't like the coffee back then. The coffee is good now. However I wish the customer service was more professional. I paid almost $7 for a medium iced latte but they're not consistent with coffee quality. When they had to remake my coffee because a new girl was training and she didn't know how to make it, the staff wasn't professional at all. I never write reviews but this place 110 percent deserves praise. I come to this coffee shop usually 5 days a week...it's that good. Their coffee is 12/10, their food is incredible. Came here after the beach (excuse them ashy sandy hand) and got an iced French vanilla latte with almond milk to wake me up as it was still pretty early in the day. This is my second time coming here for a cup of coffee and its the second time I've left and threw the coffee in the trash. The coffee was cold, tasted as if it was at the bottom of the pot for hours, and when I got a new cup it was Luke warm at best and the coffee tasted like if it was mixed with tea. Very disappointing that there's no control in the quality. The place itself is very welcoming and they did a great job specially with the outside patio. I like Carmela in Parkland. The staff are all always friendly and the food is good. Ordering using the app, though, is almost always problematic in that the order either doesn't go through or doesn't get noticed by staff, and; therefore doesn't get made. I end up waiting in the shop for them to make my order, which defeats the purpose of using the app. It's a chronic problem. I often order and wait in my car for 15-20 minutes for a coffee that the app says will be "ready in 5 minutes." Then if I do wait, because the order either doesn't get noticed or is not being made, somehow, that's the time it was made on time and my coffee is cold. In the scheme of everything that's going on in the world, this is not a worthy problem, but it's worth mentioning so ownership knows to please help. Is it the app? This used to be a great place to socialize, meet a friend, enjoy great food... However, it's become an office location for the myriad of keyboard warriors who just want to squat here and take up space. I came recently at 11 AM to meet a friend. There was not one area in the entire place that could accommodate two people. A full table for four was taken up by one guy on his computer. Another four spot was also taken by a woman and her computer. We had to leave and go somewhere else where two of us could sit and enjoy each other's company. Sorry Carmela... two of us won't be back! This place is great and has a very relaxing ambiance however they have a major fly issue, more so outside but they make their way inside too. Tried to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and noticed a trash can right where all the seating is and that's what was attracting all of the flys. Avacado Toast is the lure of this pleasant coffee house. Add comfort seating and outside are protected from sun and rain along with coffees and pastries makes this a destination for enjoying some time. I am updating my review of Carmela basically because of the response from the owner and his expressed concerns to fix the problem. I also understand how hard it must be to control kids that truly want to study versus those that want to disrupt business. I definitely think "no outside food allowed" may help curb this. Such a cute coffee spot with comfortable sitting areas throughout. We ordered lattes and the burrata and breakfast avocado toasts and both were great. The bread was delicious and the toppings were fresh. The lattes were good. Service was good. There was a bit of a wait for the food but we were in no rush on Sunday. First off the food here is great and the ambiance is very relaxing....when its not packed with loud teenage kids taking up all the tables, eating food from Publix, and destroying the bathrooms. I think its a horrible business plan to push good paying customers away and allowing the teens to take over the restaurant. Maybe they make so much money they don't need it but now we only go when its empty. It really is a shame but these kids just lay across chairs, take up multiple tables and are obnoxious.
