So relaxing, awesome staff, every last one of them, and we had a wonderful massage and facial. As our spa day was to celebrate my best friend and my special birthday(s) we were treated to two glasses of champaign. So very thoughtful.

Beautiful location and setting! Our room was so cute and cozy. We really enjoyed the spa too. If you can go to Mr Henry’s for dinner. The duck and lamb was particularly delicious. Also, the breakfast offered gluten free bread which was perfect! Really close to Storm King which I also highly recommend for an afternoon putting. Definitely coming back against More...

What a sweet place this is. We stayed in the main house and had a pretty room overlooking the pond. The room was made up very well with nice linens and a comfortable bed. ||They had tea service in the afternoon, complimentary, which we welcomed as we had been driving several hours. ||They were friendly, hospitable and helpful. We ate dinner there in the farm. It was just fine. Not fabulous, but good. ||The farm is lovely to walk around and see that they do grow their own vegetables and take care of this beautiful land. ||Breakfast was great. Home made scones and baked goods. They even had good coffee and that is difficult to find in upstate, NY. ||I wouldn’t recommend it for children unless they have an independent cabin as it is a quiet and peaceful spot. ||Don’t hesitate to drive out of your way for this sweet spot. I was looking for a beautiful fall get-a-way spot to take my elderly parents from PA along with my adult daughter from NYC. Milton was the perfect location so I looked for a place good for my parents with poor mobility that also had a scenic view of the Hudson River and the fall foliage. The North Cottage at Buttermilk Inn was the perfect fit. The cottage had private parking and easy access and was equipped with everything we needed. As soon as we arrived and settled in, we felt at home and at ease as we enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Hudson. ||The staff at Buttermilk were extremely helpful and responsive. The ice machine in the refrigerator was not working so we called to ask for ice and it was promptly delivered to our remote cottage. We went to breakfast each morning which had an assortment of teas, coffees, juices along with pastries and toast. There were 3 hot specials offered each day- 2 egg choices and a 3rd waffle/French toast choice. All were delicious and the service was friendly. We found the staff at Buttermilk to be professional but at the same time laid back and respectful to our needs and wants and our privacy.||We did not take advantage of the spa services, but we enjoyed visiting wineries in the area. But mostly we just relished our stay at the Cottage. I loved being close to the livestock. I visited the peacocks, roosters and chickens but I especially loved visiting the llamas and alpacas. ||Thank you to Buttermilk for making this such a memorable trip and I hope to return often with my parents. Here for a midweek getaway, and my wife and I couldn’t be more pleased. Our room’s tub is a Jacuzzi, which worked great. We had a gas fireplace which kept us cozy during a cold snap. Terrific pastries were plentiful at Tea-time. Dinners at Henry’s are the best, we knew from having eaten here years ago. Grounds are beautiful, and we enjoyed talking to the exotic chickens outside — too bad it was too cold for the llamas to be out. Lastly, my wife thought the pool was fine, and our massages at the Spa were wonderful. A great time for anyone, I would imagine.| More...

We stayed in the Captain's Room. While it was not our first choice -this place books up early!- it was perfect. It is on the 2nd floor -note no elevators in the historic house. The bed was kind of soft as I'm used to a firm mattress but it wasn't uncomfortable -just different. The room is tucked away upstairs and very private and quite. Looking out the widows (that open! I hate when hotel windows don't open.) you see green foliage for as far as the eye can see as there are super big trees right outside the window. Truly, Buttermilk Falls Inn is one of the most serene, peaceful bed and breakfasts that I've stayed at -the natural beauty of the property is astounding and as with the attention to guests, every detail is precisely cared for... the eggs at breakfast in the morning were fresh -straight from the hen house that you can visit for yourself as a guest. Breakfast was superb. They have hand-out's on the property's history so get one a learn about this magical place! I also got a pedicure at the Spa on the property and that was wonderful too with a very skilled and friendly technician. If you like natural beauty and quiet retreats, this place is for you. If you love animals and nature and farms, also for you. I am determined to go back and stay in North Cottage, their most secluded accommodation which is over closer to the farm than the inn. Highly recommend if you are in the market for a Hudson Valley B&B!!! More...

We went back to the room and relaxed. We had dinner plans at the Restaurant on site, Henry's. We literally walked out the door a minute before the reservation. Â It's on the 2nd floor. There were the same familiar faces from breakfast and around the spa, but there were also other people there. I'm assuming they were from the community or one of the other satellite units? The vibe of the restaurant is rustic. Â The food is American food. We ended up getting typical American food. We got wings, Pizza, and a pasta dish. Â We initially ordered the steak, but they said it would take 45 minutes to prepare, so we did change course. The food was about on par for restaurant food. Â I wouldn't necessarily come back for the food. But, I would say the food quality was good for a small restaurant mainly catering to the onsite Inn. We went back and tried the bathtub. Â It has little ports for air that make it a faux jacuzzi. Â It is only big enough for one person. It is also super loud. But, it is something I would like to install in my home. It also blows out air about 30 minutes later to clean out the ports. Don't be alarmed like we were. You can hear everything that goes on in the hallways and vice versa. Â So, if you're a light sleeper, consider ear plugs. The crowd here isn't loud, but even walking and normal speak can be heard loud and clear.Breakfast the following day was about the same. Â We had breakfast. We swam a bit more because it's not everyday you get to swim. Then, we went on our way. Check out was a breeze.Overall, I'd like to go back. I would recommend it for anyone to get away. We live in the city and it's hectic. But, it's nice to go to a place like Buttermilk Falls and feel like you're in a Walden Pond like getaway relatively close to the city.(had to upload in two parts. LOL) More...

Amelia , our waitress, server, local guide, was a great part of the terrific lunch today at Henry’s at Buttermilk. The food was excellent. I had the gluten free flatbread with vegetables. The tomato sauce was one of the best tasting sauces ever. Love meals that taste terrific and settle nicely. The raspberry crisp was exactly the right sweetness and flavor. My mother had the quesadilla with sliced beef and later homemade creme brûlée ice cream. My sister had the hamburger of the day with the same dessert. The dessert with a pot of tea made a great ending for a wonderful lunch. The parking is very limited near the restaurant/ spa, but the walk across the bridge spanning the Swan Pond is a terrific idea after the relaxing visit. Yes, we walked after that fabulous meal to the organic kitchen garden, apiary, alpacas, cute donkey, and poultry houses. Super nice people. Beautiful location. We ate on the balcony overlooking the lawns, trees, and ponds. A true sense of peaceful contentment. Stop by, and take the time to make reservations for they can be full. More...

Her birthday is in the winter, so we needed a barn that had heating. Not surprisingly, there aren’t that many heated barns that are available to rent for a party. My wife found Buttermilk Falls and it met all of our basic criteria. After we booked, started planning and the day got closer, it became pretty obvious that this would be a special event. The barn had exactly the right amount of rustic charm while still providing an updated, very clean facility. There was plenty of room for dinner tables, the buffet and the dance floor. The staff was exceptional, and took care of all of our needs. We would definitely use this facility again, and we give it our highest recommendation! More...

My husband and I were on our way to wine tasting when we stopped for lunch at Henry’s Buttermilk Farm restaurant in Milton, NY. What a hidden treasure!|The restaurant is on the second floor of a modern house with windows to open kitchen on first floor. The room is well-setup for both couples and small groups of 4-6. There’s a cozy bar across the room with an array of wines and spirits on display. The service is warm and welcoming with a professional polish. Our server was very attentive without hovering. Wine pours are generous and well-priced. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. I enjoyed the blackened snapper sandwich and my husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with side salad. |The lunch menu offered a variety of flatbreads, barbecue sandwiches, salads and burgers. We stayed at the Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa for four nights and had such a wonderful and relaxing getaway. Â While there we ate at Henry's, which was utterly delightful. Â The service was impeccable and I can honestly say their lobster ravioli was phenomenal and the best I've ever had. Â Huge fresh chunks of lobster in every bite and the presentation was flawless. Â Later in the week, I treated myself to a one hour signature massage at the spa. Â It was pretty much a Swedish massage, which was just perfect and super relaxing. Â Dana was my masseuse and she was amazing at working out the knots in my back and shoulders. Â I left feeling like a new woman. Â Last but not least, the inn keepers. Â In a word - Wow! Â They really went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Â A huge thank you to the manager, Ann Marie for upgrading our accommodations. Â We truly appreciated this! Are you looking for pure serenity, relaxation, nature surroundings, eucalyptus steam rooms, herbal teas, and spa treatments? Then you've come to the right place. I can't say enough lovely things about Buttermilk. The entire property is built for relaxation, reflection, serenity and time away from everything - out in the middle of nowhere, where people can truly relax and unwind. Most of the rooms offer a fireplace, robes, and private terraces surrounded by nature (what a nice place to have your morning coffee, right?!). The beds are super comfortable, and you still get that luxury inn feel. They have a beautiful indoor pool that overlooks the lush greenery and property, equipment with citrus infused water, an incredible eucalyptus steam room and sauna, and a spa which includes robust and affordable offerings. They also have a sensational restaurant on property called Henry's, and a small cafe near the front entrance that offers complimentary breakfast with all the assortments your heart could desire. In the evenings, the property is quiet and super relaxing - if you need to get up and have a hankering for chess, board games, hot cocoa, coconut macaroons, tea, or water - they've got you covered and will cater to your every need! If you're looking to get away from it all and TRULY relax and unwind in luxury and natures most beautiful offerings, come to Buttermilk. You will leave refreshed and rejuvenated and you won't regret it. More...
