Through this whole experience she took her time and communicated with me effectively on every little detail to make this day special for my mother, she treated her as if she was her mother and I appreciated that. Working with Jamilah was a joy and a breeze!
I had about a week left to get the finishing touches together on my birthday party, and I wanted to find a caterer that offered quality food that looked good and was full of flavor.
I love Caribbean food and wanted something elevated and special for my party. Judging by the pictures and reviews, I thought Best of Both Worlds might be just the right company to go with, and I was so right!
Not only was the food incredibly delicious, but Jamilah was such a warm, professional, creative, and accommodating caterer that truly cared about the outcome of my party from start to finish!
While setting up the initial consultation, I was able to request items from the extensive menu, and noticed that there were food choices that suited a range of palates. I was even able to offer food options for my vegan friends!
This caterer is also full-service and has connections with other pros to help create a great even, which I love!
Jamilah paid great attention to the details about the theme and vision that I had in mind, and went straight to work putting together the special touches on the menu and the presentation. She was just as excited for the party as I was!
She was incredibly efficient, communicative, transparent, and effective at getting everything done well and in a timely manner. It was really easy to get in touch with her whenever I had a question or had a detail to go over, and she made it all come together.
My guests loved the food! The favorites of the night were the codfish empanadas and the garlic beef! People loved everything, but those went the quickest and were the most commented on.
Everything from the drinks to the serving plates and warmers fit right in with the decor, and I was absolutely thrilled with the custom menu signage. It was creative and matched the theme perfectly!
I could tell from the very beginning of the event that Jamilah cared about the success of my event. Her incredibly warm and friendly personality was front and center throughout, and was helpful in making sure I could relax and enjoy my event without having to double-check anything.

One word, AMAZING! They catered my mothers birthday party (my mother is usually the one who handles food for events we have and so people have become fond of her cooking and the expectation is very high) and did not disappoint. I don't even know where to begin!!! Our event was this past Saturday and our guest are still reaching out raving about how good the food and service was.
We had well over 150 guest and we never even ran low on food, infact, half the guest left with multiple to go plates and we were still left with plenty of food to go home with. We thought the food was bomb.com during the party, but the way it hit that 2nd day was insane!!! I absolutely would recommend EVERYONE to use Best of Both Worlds Cuisin for catering services they may need.. I'll def use them again.

This company is amazing! The patience and dedication that the chef Jamilah exhibited to my family and I during the planning process made us feel comfortable and less stressed in that area.
We used her for my husbands repass and the food was absolutely amazing!!! When losing a loved one it’s already stressful enough to plan their funeral. We selected what we wanted off the catering inquiry form, got a confirmation email from her that she received it, then within 72 hours we received our quote. Jamilah patiently went over the options and accommodated the side requests that we had. Her flavors are just amazing!! Everyone is still talking about how good the food was!!!

What I love most about my work is witnessing the moment of pure joy and satisfaction when someone takes their first bite and experiences the burst of flavors. Seeing their expressions light up with delight is truly rewarding and reminds me why I’m so passionate about creating unforgettable culinary experiences.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset, driven by a passion for creating something meaningful and impactful. Cooking and feeding others has always been one of my greatest joys—it’s how I connect with people and share a piece of my culture and creativity.
As I honed my skills and deepened my love for cooking, I noticed a gap in the culinary world—there weren’t many businesses that celebrated a true fusion of Jamaican and Haitian cuisines. Growing up as the child of a Haitian father and a Jamaican mother, I was often asked about my heritage, and my response was always, “I’m the best of both worlds.” That phrase stayed with me, not just as a way to describe my background, but as the perfect representation of the unique flavors and experiences I wanted to bring to the table.
This business was born out of a desire to celebrate my heritage, share my unique culinary perspective, and fill a space that I felt was missing in the food industry. It’s not just a business to me—it’s a way to honor my roots, bring people together, and create unforgettable dining experiences.
