Before making the decision to pursue a personal trainer, I had been struggling deeply with maintaining a daily routine, incorporating physical activity and exercise into life - which led me to become quite unhappy with my weight gain and which then of course inevitably impacted my mental health. Like so many other folks out there, COVID had changed my life from being moderately active and walking to almost anywhere I needed to go to an almost ✨entirely✨ sedentary lifestyle.
Although nervous and not very confident in myself - I decided to reach out to Amanda through our local gym.
Immediately, I felt Amanda’s true passion and determination to help me reach my goals. During our introduction, I very quickly realized Amanda’s love for what she does goes beyond just physical aesthetics (which, yes, we have goals in that area too🤣🍑) She strives to help her clients overcome their obstacles and show them what they are capable of. Her training has brought out a side of me I don’t think I would’ve ever seen if we hadn’t started working together. She also is an absolute professional with all things nutrition - which is a huge plus since that is a critical part of your weight loss/strength training journey. If you’re out to eat and want some insight on how to stay on track with your goals, Amanda is happy to take a look at the menu and send some suggestions your way.
Apart from being excellent at what she does - she goes above and beyond for her clients. She loves to hike and is happy to tag you along and even thinks of ways outside of the gym setting to get your movement in. I think I learn something new every single time we meet for our sessions. 🤓
Amanda’s training also just makes you feel like a true badass! You’re in there doing a great mix of machines, free weights, and more. She also incorporates mobility exercises which are extremely helpful especially for beginners.

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?
A lot of diseases in America can be prevented through lifestyle habits/changes. Diabetes and heart disease can be helped tremendously through movement and making healthier eating choices.
-Diets high in saturated fats are directly linked to cardiovascular disease.
-Diets high in sodium are directly linked to high blood pressure.
-Diets with high amounts of sugar, and bodies who do not get enough movement in throughout their days lead the body to build up sugar. This results in a resistance to the hormone that helps bring someones sugar down. This causes diabetes. Generally speaking, people with diabetes lack muscle. Adding muscle is the best thing we can for our metabolism. More muscle increases your metabolism.
-Autoimmune diseases can be lessened, or become more tolerable with managing stress, and getting adequate nutrition.
How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
As someone who struggled with anorexia and binge eating, I do not make you restrict certain foods. I try to help you make small changes each day that add up to something bigger. I teach you WHY something is important by explaining the latest research.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Making it a lifestyle. Creating your identity around fitness and nutrition. You realize this isn't something you turn on and off, it's lifelong. This isn't a fad diet that you dedicate a certain amount of time to. This is something that you will always be doing.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping someone go from insecure, timid, shy, struggling with no results, listening to wrong information from the internet and peers
to
feeling stronger and more energetic, confident, feeling worthy, and loving their lives.
Nothing makes me happier than helping someone get out of the dark hole that I was in with labeling foods as "bad" or "good", thinking I needed to earn my food, and eating barely anything.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I realized that gyms have rigid rules, and if I worked for myself I can help the client as easiest as it can be for them. There is more freedom to shape your programming for the client.
Why should our clients choose you?
I CARE more than anything. I have a lot of empathy, and I get deep into why you haven't found results yet. I love the psychology. I don't blame you, or shame you for anything. We are products of how we were raised, unfortunately bad eating habits get passed down from generation to generation.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes. I can provide 'live' and 'non-live' training. Meaning, I can be there with you on Zoom or I can write you a fitness program.
In person training is at Strong and Shapley Gym, East Rutherford. I can come to your apartment gym, or meet you at an outdoor park if its Bergen County, NJ or in the Clifton/Montclair/Hackensack area. I am only able to come to Manhattan in the AMs.
Nutrition services are only online.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Online (non-live written out) programming so you can workout on your own time, and Zoom sessions for 'live' trianing and on the spot' changes.

I offer 30 minute nutrition sessions.
$75 for 2 30 minute sessions. We address everything that may be effecting your inability to gain muscle, shred fat, or feel better throughout the day.
During our time together, we can be as detailed or as broad as you'd like. You discuss your goals with me, and what has prevented you from obtaining them. I offer nutrition education and approaches to help you find balance in your food journey. Whether you have serious fitness goals, or just want to live a balanced life, I can give you the approach and confidence to do so though our virtual sessions. Together, we come up with systems to live this balanced life.
After 2 weeks, we check back in and review any needed information during the 2nd 30 minute session. We discuss any new obstacles and come up with a plan together to address them.
