Felicia was an absolute gem of a care provider. Her genuine nature and punctuality stood out right from the start. She was always ready to assist in any way needed and extremely accommodating. I'm so grateful to Tanya for being able to schedule an introduction to wonderful Theresa. My mom needed an extra helping hand after spending weeks in the hospital and acute rehab and Theresa was the perfect companion aide. She was patient, kind and kept herself busy while my mom rested. Where do I begin..... looking for good aftercare is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Im really surprised that there are only a handful of companies that provide aftercare for elective surgeries without asking for almost as much as the price of the procedure. I was scheduled for a medical procedure and many of the companies I called wanted me to give them an arm, a leg and then my first born child. Also, I wanted to stay home instead of staying away from my family. After some research and prayer I found this company on Yelp and decided to contact them. I'm so glad I did. I spoke to Tanya and she was friendly and encouraging. I immediately felt how genuine she was and knew this was the company. She assured me that she'd find the right person for my specific needs and we would speak again closer to the date of my procedure to finalize everything. I spoke to her again a week before my procedure and was pleased to hear she didn't let me down. I met with Therese a couple days before my procedure at my home and we discussed my needs along with making sure I had everything I needed for my aftercare. Therese met my husband at my home after the procedure and all I can say is I didn't want for anything from that point on. Therese made sure I was comfortable, that I was hydrated and made me broth to sip on the first day. She ensured I stayed in schedule with my medications and assisted me with all of my needs. I didn't want for anything. Therese stayed with me for a few days and I was sad to see her go. It truly was a pleasure having her care for me. In closing, I would highly recommend A Better Way. For three years, exceptional Aides from A Better Way took care of my mother who could be funny, intelligent, belligerent, anxious, and angry for no apparent reason. For three years, they gave my mother love, affection, care, and set boundaries when necessary to ensure that my mother could receive the care she needed. This is an exceptional caregiving entity. Although we did not end up needing their services, they provided us with professional and supportive assistance from the moment of contact. A few days before my 98-year-old father was scheduled to have surgery I fell and broke my arm and could not travel to be with him. I panicked, not knowing where to turn. I was referred to A Better Way and after talking to Steffi, the owner, knew it was a match! I broke my leg, had surgery and was excited to come home, but needed help. They referred the nicest caregivers, Irma and Marie, who were very caring, professional and dedicated. I had the most amazing service by this organization. They sent me they're top Caregiver "Ms Ruth" And how do I know this as a fact? Because she proved it time and time again from our very first encounter. She is professional, time conscientious, reliable, trustworthy & dependable. She has been the most amazing Angel of a caregiver to my mom and our saving grace. Patient & kind. She's an expert in dealing with dementia/Alhezimers patients. She is tenured and has a wealth of expertise & knowledge in this field. I cannot say enough good things about her. She's a bright light shining beautifully inside and out as a person. My cousin who lived with me was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. Initially she was able to take care of herself and I helped her as much as I could. About a month before she passed though, as she began losing control of her bodily functions, the situation went over my head and I realized I would need help. My cousin's social worker recommended A Better Way in Home Care.Two days after I called them, they sent Gwen to take care of my cousin. Gwen knew what she was doing. She took great care of my cousin in all respects: She dry-bathed her and washed her hair daily. She also dressed my cousin every day and from time to time, sat her up in a comfortable chair (as opposed to letting her lie in the hospital bed 24/7.) Gwen would ask my cousin what she wanted to eat and cook it for her, even though my cousin could hardly eat or get down more than a bite or two. Gwen was also able to empty my cousin's stoma bag. All in all, Gwen loved her work and put her heart and soul into it. The care she gave my cousin and the rapport she established with her in the last three weeks of her life was critical to my cousin's peaceful departure. A Better Way in Home Care provided excellent services to both myself and my father. Tanya was so wonderful. She helped me so much with transitioning my father home from the hospital with a feeding tube. She even prevented my father from going back to the hospital when I had a problem with the feeding tube. The caregivers provided very good care for my father. Two of the female caregivers - Chantal and Paquelle provided especially exceptional care- their knowledge and expertise was invaluable and they helped my father and I so much during many of the medical crisis' that sadly my father had to endure. The care they provided to my father was given with kindness and love, and their loving care gave him so much courage and strength. I am so grateful that A Better Way in Home Care was there for my father, their excellent care and kindness towards my father was such a blessing and a gift. I contacted A Better Way a few years ago to find a caregiver to help my mother, who suffers from severe osteoarthritis. We had a wonderful caregiver for about a year who was a great help, my mom loved her. My mother's health improved and didn't need extended care. More recently my aunt required an in-home caregiver due to an illness she's been battling. She was apprehensive at first, but I told her I would call A Better Way, the same agency that helped us find a caregiver for mom, and she felt more comfortable about the situation. Once again A Better Way sent us a great caregiver and my aunt is being well taken care of. She feels comfortable with her caregiver and likes her very much.Steffi is terrific at personally matching caregivers for each individual client. Our founder, Steffi Gaines, has a deep and abiding love for her work. Steffi is an industry expert in the field of in-home care with a passion for helping others. Steffi is determined to provide an alternative to the world of board and care, assisted living, and convalescent facilities. Our approach allows people to stay in the loving intimacy of home, with a caregiver you choose surrounded by comfort and familiarity.
