AKC Cannie Good Citizen certification
Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. All dogs, including both purebred and mixed-breed dogs, are welcome to participate. The Canine Good Citizen program promotes responsible pet ownership and good dog manners by recognizing dogs that can pass the following 10-step test:
Accepting a friendly stranger
Sitting politely while being pet
Appearance and grooming
Walking on a leash
Walking through a crowd
“Sit” and “Down” on command and staying in place
Coming when called
Reacting to another dog
Reacting to distraction
Supervised separation
Working Protection/ Sport Dogs
When we talk about working protection sport dogs, not only are we training the dog, but we coach the family, including children, to understand the inner workings and commands. Through strict obedience and control work along side proper socialization to achieve a perfectly well-balanced companion. More time is concentrated on awareness and teaching a dog a treat from a non-threat the we do creating aggression. This is a very interactive and intense program covering Obedience, Home Manners, Socialization and intro to protection.
