Susan & her team were awesome! I hired Susan to do my wedding photography and videography and i am so happy with her services. Susan has such a fun personality and she made me feel really comfortable with the entire process. The pictures turned out amazing!!! They were such high quality and you can tell she really knew her angles. She also instructed me on how to pose and helped coordinate all of the different pictures/ family photos i wanted. What an artist! Susan photographed me when I was 7 months pregnant for a pregnancy shoot. I really wanted to have pictures but was nervous because I literally felt like a fat whale. She made me feel so comfortable! I am not so artistically gifted nor am I photogenic but she coached me the entire way from options of what to wear/how to be styled and how to actually position myself for the photos. It was windy that day (we were outside) and she worked with that as well which could not have been easy. She took numerous photos to choose from and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to capturing a great pics is to get the subjects in their most comfortable place. Make them laugh, smile, be goofy, and serious all in the same session. Life is spontaneous and so should pictures. Capturing lifes memories as the clients happiness unfolds is truly the goal and success of a great picture.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What type of look are you going for: serious, fun, playful, traditional, classic or journalistic. I will then show you examples of all and give you many options to obtain your perfect image.
What do you love most about your job?
OHHHH my goodness,..I absolutely love capturing life's memories. I love seeing smiles, and laughs and giggles and being able to make in the moment memories last a lifetime. Sharing those moments for generations to come is a true pleasure of mine. Life is short and capturing the best moments in a persons life are truly a feel good moment for me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My children! I know life is fleeting and they grow up so fast...I wanted to be able to spend every moment I could with them making memories, learning with them and working a 9-5 job would not have afforded me the time with my children and my dogs. Rescuing animals has always been a passion and having their cozy bodies around the house and their sweet puppies kisses made everyday enjoyable. Also, I didn't have children to pay someone else to raise them. They are now wonderfully functioning adults and I have a beautiful grand daughter as well. I was able to go to every field-trip, every football game, tennis match, ballet recital, and dance competition they ever had...working for myself enabled me to spend quality time with the most important things in my life. The choice wasn't difficult at all to start my own business.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have many many years of experience taking pictures. Even though my business didn't start until 2008 officially, I have been taking pictures for 44 years....since I was 10. I am diverse in all areas of taking photographs as I have done every single aspect of photography you can think of. I am honest, I am a perfectionist when it comes to my images, I am full of life and happiness, I love to make people happy, I engage with ALL people involved in a session and when it comes to weddings, I can do every aspect needed for a productive and perfect wedding day. I am also an officiant, a wedding planner and day of coordinator and a makeup artist. I truly can do it all. Someone doesn't show up, I can handle it. Throwing myself into my job is what I do best. I also have many many connections with venues, vendors, and have been just about every location you an think of for any kind of session.
