Over the past 30 days, I’ve had the opportunity to try out their service, and unfortunately, it has not met my expectations. The process has been very slow, communication has been delayed, and the overall experience has not been as advertised. I was not made aware upfront that I would only be able to speak with a call center advisor once a week for 30 minutes, which significantly limited progress. Additionally, the onboarding and support have felt disorganized and lacking the thoroughness I expected. I do not recommend their services. I signed up with 1-800Accountant in January after being promised personalized service and a local accountant who understood my state-specific needs.
That never happened. Instead, I was passed from one person to another, none of whom seemed to have real knowledge of U.S. small business tax strategies — let alone my state’s requirements.
I raised concerns multiple times over the first few months, even asking whether I should just request a refund because the service didn’t match what was sold to me. Each time, I was reassured things would improve — but nothing changed. Now that I’ve finally asked for a refund, they’ve told me it’s not possible after 30 days, despite the ongoing misrepresentation and lack of delivery on their promises.
If you're considering this service, I highly recommend reviewing everything carefully right away and requesting a refund immediately if something feels off. In my experience, they overpromise, underdeliver, and avoid accountability. It’s clear that many of the employees are not U.S.-based, and they lack the experience to truly support small business owners here.

I decided not to go with this company after having to deal with a very aggressive salesperson. I was initially a bit put off by the name and corporate feel as I run a sole prop. small business. My apprehension was warranted, as it turned out, as the salesperson was pushing a package on me that was almost twice as expensive as the one I was looking at. When I said it was too much, he advised I do payments or just put it on a credit card. Really? So I tell you, the accountant, that I can't afford that much, and your advice is to just use a credit card? That's pretty shady in my opinion. He didn't stop there, I had to cut the conversation off because instead of answering my questions, he glossed over them, fast-talked me, and pushed again "now that comes to ___ would you like to put that on a card today?" 2 stars because he did have some good info. I was genuinely considering this company and was already thinking the lowest package was more than I could do, but was willing to consider it. Worst experience ever, I had not so good accountant in the past, but it wasn’t a never ending nightmare like this.
They speak very vaguely, as if I’m and accountant too.
App is just a place holder, doesn’t work.
Website is ok, but no technical help on the same day.
In general every tiny thing you want is taking 4 to 10 days.
I wish I could get my money back. But they’re good on that. No money back, and when you know it’s a scam, it’s too late.
Most expensive and worst accounting I ever experienced. Avoid at all cost.
