Very good food and excellent service! Thanks to Yelp reviews, a brief detour off I95 was totally worth it. The chopped pork barbecue was very good, but make sure  you're hungry if you order the large plate. It's easy to see why this place has been here for 88 years. They are home town friendly and have great food. I'll remember this place when traveling through again and might even consider an online order. More...

Holy yee-ha!!!!! If you love bar- b- que or fried chix, get here immediately! Â I usually do not partake in meat but I have to say the fried chicken is the best I've ever encountered. So much soo I want to go back every weekend! My son loved the hush puppies and my husband loved the chix and pork. TOTAL WINNER! Happy we stumbled upon the place. Service is outstanding as well. Our first time here. We arrived very hungry about 4pm after traveling from SC to VA. Even though it seemed a slow time, they weren't slacking on hot fresh food! I had fresh chicken in front of me in minutes, along with mac n cheese and potato salad. Fresh hush puppies were on the table before we could sit down. Hubby got a chicken/bbq (voted best bbq in town) combo with flat string beans that were delicious. Don't come in thinking this is high prices and snooty surroundings, this is cozy comfort food at its best! We couldn't be happier to have stopped here. Thanks ladies, great job! More...

Best bbq between Columbia SC and Washington DC...that is, this section of I-95 is a well-traveled road for me, and I have tried several different places, some far off the highway, from Wilson to Sanford to Smithfield to Fayetteville to Rocky Mount and Florence. White Swan is merely a few seconds off the interstate (exit 90?), price is right, the hot bar is always stocked fresh (lots of customers, so lots of turnover in the hot bins, I suppose, just to keep up with demand), staff are always courteous and chatty (in a good way...), and they are even open on Mondays. What’s your signature dish?
Our signature dish is BBQ pork, whether it be chopped or a whole hog for a pig pickin this is what we are known for.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
When planning events it is just a matter of talking with the clients to make sure everything is perfect for their event.
What do you love most about your job?
I love helping make it easier for people to enjoy their special day. It may be a wedding, family gathering, no matter what the event taking the burden off from cooking and setting up makes it easier for the client to enjoy their event.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My family purchased the business in 1987, and after college I came back to work with the company. I started the catering side of the business and enjoy getting out to help on those events. I have been working with the company for 30 years, and it is part of the family,
