Atmosphere on a Sunday, clean, soft lighting, colorful, music not to loud to visit, excellent! Service, very knowledgable to make solid recomendations on everything from drinks, starters to entree. Also on it! Drinks never empty. $$$, reasonable for the area, good quality for quantity compared to other restraunts in the area. Menu had a little something for everyone especially if you are out to try new flavors and combos (very fresh). The specialty drinks were mixed perfectly. Had: Pain Killer (drink) and Rum flight. Very interesting menu with some genuine Caribbean dishes, different. A nice change. I should deduct a star for the hard no-cushion chairs and the dirty upholstery on the patio sofa, but I really appreciate authentic, different food, so...five stars.

Ok, so we have never been here because we're big Cabby Shack fans, so when we are in the area, we're usually there (travel for a living, so only here for 6 weeks per year). However, one day I wanted something different, so I tried this place. Went back right away with my BF. I really like this place. Sat at the bar both times. The bartender is cool. Really like that guy. We got the Crab Bisque. It has great flavor. Very lobster bisque, sub the shellfish. The BF doesn't like lobster (I know, what a freak), but he wanted to try the bisque since it was crab, not lobster. The taste was good, but I wish there was more crab. No crab flavor, no lump crab, but good bisque flavor. We also ordered the Grilled Oyster special. Those things were AWESOME! Little lemon and their house made hot sauce (I like the tall skinny bottle best), and we're golden!The banana wings were cooked well, but just something in the spicing I didn't like. I'm not a fan of Allspice, so it may have been that. Not bad, just not my jam. We also got the crab cakes. These arrive and they look small, compared to other crab cakes around, but I have to say they are fat and FULL of crab. ZERO filler here. The crunch on the outside is perfect and their sauces are awesome! Again, homemade hot sauces on these!Finally, we had the Mofongo. This. This is why we came, and we didn't even know it. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and huge and the sauce was great, but this dish is allll about the plantain hash! Holy hanna! That was EPIC! I would have eaten a whole other plate of just that. Get this dish. Period.I've seen other reviews that they've had issues with the service and some with the food. I've been here twice and everyone has been friendly, and the food has been on point. I was at a nearby convention and ran over to get some lunch. Decided to order something I've never heard of. Actually, pretty much everything there I'd never heard of. Now that I think about it, it was my first time in a Caribbean/ Cuban type restaurant. It was some delicious pork dish. After the first bite I was like well I'm definitely coming to this place again. Only complaint would be a pet peeve of mine is when the server sets down water with a lemon in it. Excuse me but please don't push a beverage trend on me without asking me if I want it first. Also, sliced fruit at restaurants are totally disgusting and unsanitary. That's actually according to the Center for Disease Control as well as my own opinion so... I don't believe in sending back food either because people can be really immature. As it was, the waitress got a little snippy with my friend when she asked her to clarify something on the menu.
