Breath taking views our room although compact; the view to the SAVANNAH RIVER and the Talmadge Bridge made up for it! The restroom was spacious with walk in ! I naturally prefer a bath with they do have in some rooms. The staff was not the same as when I went the first time to view the hotel. We was celebrating a birthday. It’s not a hotel that you go to and everyone knows your name if you know what I mean. The valet parking is $40 extra a night, but well worth it. We were able to see the truck from our room as well. No microwave at all. Due to room service and all the restaurants-bars on location. The refrigerator is filled with wet bar items that cost money so don’t bring anything perishable back to your room. The elevators were high tech classy. You have to use your room key to access each floor. River street and downtown is steps outside the door. For entertainment you have 60’ TV, Free Wi FI, and a huge color changing lap pool. More...

Getting together on Thanksgiving proper wasn’t an option for us this year. So The Alida was our home for my family’s pre-Thanksgiving overnight getaway, and it was a great choice. Beautiful, spacious rooms; thoughtful amenities; an outstanding location, right on the Riverfront and an easy walk to all the best dining and strolling options. Our group of six ranged in age from middle school to 75, and we all had a lovely time. I’ll be back, and can’t wait. ❤️ More...

I originally contemplated booking The Alida, simply because I wasn’t familiar with the area nor the hotel. Needless to say, BEST decision I could have made. The ambiance in the hotel lobby was beautiful. Our room was located on the 2ND Floor. The rooms were spacious and equipped with KING beds. The house keeping staff on the 2nd Floor was nothing short of AMAZING. They were attentive, accommodating and down to earth. They offered recommendations and was willing to stop what they were doing to assist. BEST STAFF EVER!!! And I mean EVER!!! At check in, you will receive water bottles for the Hydration Station that's located on all floors. These stations are equipped with different types of water, daily newspapers and evening snacks. The hotel is located in Downtown Savannah historic district, so it was a 5 min walk everywhere. Alida sits right river and across the street from City Market, Lady & Sons Restaurant, Encryption Room Escape, Clubs and Advance Tours in Motions. Although parking was $40 per night, the valet staff was so friendly and accommodating, we felt they earned every bit. The roof top bar and fire pit was nice and turned into a party on Saturday night. If traveling to Savannah you will LOVE The Alida! MUST VISIT. More...

Pros||Beautiful new hotel||Quiet||Large Rooms||||Cons||No free Breakfast||No Hot Water for Tea||No Parking||||My wife and I were in Savannah for a race and we wanted to stay close to the staring line. The Alida is right downtown and was just over a quarter mile to the start line. It was 4X as much money as the Days Inn outside of town but really worth every penny. ||||We pulled up, out front, they have Valet, but I didn't want to pay the fees so we unload and I went to park the car downtown. The downtown garages are much cheaper per day, and less than a half a mile away. ||||At check-in they give you a hydration bottle for the hydration stations. These are great. On every floor their is a keg like tap that has cold water, sparkling water and tempid water (No HOT). This was great during the stay, and a cool way to remember to stay hydrated. ||||The room as you can see in the pictures was big and bright. The bathroom had a shower only but it was comfortable. ||||The bed and linens were almost as nice as a Westin. ||||My only complaints were they didn't have hot water for tea, and the breakfast options weren't cheap at the restaurant downstairs and they could not guarantee no cross contamination for Celiac Customers. My husband and I stayed at The Alida in October 2019 for our honeymoon. When calling to make the reservations, the management staff was helpful and accommodating. We called a couple days beforehand to confirm the reservation and other details, and the courteous receptionist was able to upgrade our room! Even more, when we arrived back to the room after our first evening out, the concierge sent up sweets and champagne (thanks, Amanda)! The hotel staff was very kind and friendly during every interaction I had with them.||The only reason we gave the rating of 4 instead of 5 is because my husband thought the room could have benefited from a little more decoration to improve the coziness of the room. Also, the room was just below the rooftop bar, so it got a little noisy at night. However, the rooms were clean, and I thought they were beautiful, modern, and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were more comfortable than the Ritz Carlton/ J.W. Marriott. ||I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay in Savannah. And did I mention the *awesome* security feature that only allows guests access to the floor their room in located? Everyone can reach common areas, but guests can only get to their assigned floors. Love that. Way to go, Alida! More...

Hi there from room #324! Firstly, the room was very quiet during all hours. Not too close or far from the elevator. Our view of the pool was nice, but right behind the pool was a view of the guests at the motel next door. The room did not have carpet - bring slippers! (Online photos show a rug, we didn't have one.) The bathroom has several hooks which is RARE to find! We loved that! The shower faucet has an awkward location - tricky to turn on without getting wet. ||||The Rhett Restaurant - food was hot and flavorful! Fried cauliflower, ricotta dip and a chicken breast w/salad. Would def eat there again - but we were the only guests on a Friday night at 830pm (odd!). ||||Lobby is beautifully decorated - can't argue that! No one at check in or valet could locate a luggage cart for us. Free champagne, for Marriott/Bonvoy Elite Members. That was nice! ...still would've appreciated a luggage cart. ||||***** Beware Ridiculous Charge: Destination Amenity Fee **** This is the silliest charge and poor excuse for an amenity ever conceived! The hotel has a "refresh" station that supplied water to a hotel provided plastic bottle and the hotel also provided additional plastic cups (what a waste!!!). Additionally, the hotel provided evening snacks. During my stay the snack was gummy worms & pretzels! Do they think I'm 12?! For the nightly rate ($400), I thought this was extremely juvenile and lack luster. Seriously, gummy worms ||||*** I brought my Nespresso machine - thank God! They don't even provide a coffee/tea maker in the room or at the "refresh" station. Unforgivable. ||||Location. Savannah is all about location. We took a risk deviating from our normal location (The Brice) and unless you're going to haunt the Riverwalk, this may not be your cup of tea. I do understand there is major Riverwalk upgrades coming - but as of now - this location feels disconnected.||||Thankfully Savannah has more than enough hotels to choose from. More...

Rooftop Bar and Jerome behind the bar, is a great place to get a drink. Cocktail service could use improvement. She was slow and the only unfriendly soul in the hotel. Okay, I’m here now and don’t want to leave. Laying in this comfortable, king-size bed, staring out of the window from the spacious, clean room is just what’s needed right now. Upon arrival, Andre (the valet) was our first impression, and he greeted us with a beautiful smile and southern charm. He took care of our bags right away and continuously asked if he could help with anything else. Upon check-in, we were welcomed as if they were specifically waiting just for us. The young lady at the desk was, personable, yet quite professional. Everything was explained, and we couldn’t wait to get to the room at this point. ||||Not to be overlooked, the ambiance of this quaint getaway is the absolute best. Someone took the time to make this place one of the most welcoming hotels I’ve ever visited, and being a traveler, there has been many. My best friend and I immediately started to rate this place among the top 2 or 3 places we’ve stayed in all of our travel (over 34 years of friendship). We hadn’t even made it to the room, but when we did......... TWO KING-SIZE BEDS, a vanity, amazing bathroom, a window seat (comfortable), enough desk to work if needed, clean, humongous television, and hidden closets. We LOVE the room!!!!!||||Lastly, how often do you visibly see a cleaning person keeping things done throughout the night. Our arrival was at 9:45pm and the cleaning lady was cleaning up and asking if we needed anything. When I left the room to get ice, she was right there letting me know to just go to the bar and request ice. What a treat the Alida was for our last minute one night stop over in Savannah to see the St. Patty's Day parade. I booked it last minute when we were driving there and got a heck of a deal (over $150 off for the night) on our room. We arrived pretty early in the day but they were able to get us into our room right away and we had a view of the pool. They gave us cute cups which we could use at any of the bars and could get drinks in those cups for $5. Awesome deal!!In the room there were also two plastic refillable water bottles and each floor has a hydration station with spring water, sparkling water and ambient water as well as newspapers and fruit. Great touch. The room has two "closets" hidden behind curtains, a steamer (nice touch!!) and robes. Also plenty of drawer space and a safe in one of the drawers. The bathroom was nice and had a spacious shower. Only a barn door though so not much noise privacy. Otherwise a wonderful set up all around. The toiletries were top notch I wish I had more of that conditioner and to say that about hotel supplies is saying alot.We enjoyed the pool for a couple of hours. There is a bar inside the door from the pool to get drinks and they were cooking out food in the courtyard that was cash only but I did enjoy a burger. The pool its self is not very deep (I think 3 ft was the deepest) but nice to have. Three cabana beds on one side of the pool and chairs around the rest. Nice area semi secluded from the road but hotel across the street has balconies so not very private for that reason. There is a wonderful roof top bar with plenty of couches and chairs to relax as well as a huge fireplace. The location can't be beat if you want to be by the river but a little bit of a walk to the parks (still not bad though just a few blocks). They had a nice set up of coffee and tea options in the morning at the bar off the lobby and plenty of seating throughout the first floor to find a perfect spot to enjoy. Everyone we encountered was helpful and courteous and seemed genuinely happy to be there that day. They had plenty of security all day and night and we wore wrist bands to show we were guests to come and go without issue. You also have to have a room card to get anywhere on the elevator as you have to scan it to get to any of the floors where guests stay. That was something I wish all hotels had being a solo traveler from time to time.Overall I would absolutely return to stay here again. I felt like we were in the middle of it all and if I could get that price again...heck yeah!! More...

This weekend I had the pleasure of staying at the Alida Marriott property and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The Alida is perfectly located in the middle of Savannah but not in the middle of late night craziness. The staff who checked us into the property are professional and courteous. We were upgraded to a room on the fifth (top floor) with a nice view b/c of my Platinum status. The rooftop bar is nice with beautiful views, however some of the bartenders aren’t very friendly and their drinks are below par.||The one and only downfall are hidden fees! Between a Savannah City tax, Georgia State tax, Georgia Hotel fee, and a Savannah historic tax we racked up nearly $100 in fees if you include overnight parking ($40). ||Personally, between the money spent per night and overpriced drinks at the property, I believe these fees are a bit much.
