Hidden gem in a strip mall in Evans. Excellent service too. We've eaten Indian food the world over and generally know what to order by figuring out the chef's story. Let me say this is probably the best masala dosa anywhere. Fresh, classic dishes updated with creative healthy ingredients (where are they getting the watermelon radishes?). Not exactly street food quantities of snacks - quite generous amounts of bhel puri and kale-chickpea salad. I hope this gorgeous presentation and loving preparation is sustainable. Feels like the owner is single handedly introducing South Indian food to Georgia. Finish up the meal with a Madras coffee. More...

If you are looking to try Indian food in the Augusta/Evans area this is the place to go! I haven't tried everything but what I have tried is fantastic. The Goan chicken is just the right amount of spicy. You must get the samosas! They are crunchy perfection and the filling is amazing. Sometimes the regular naan will come out a little thin and burnt on the bottom but I've never had an issue with the garlic naan. They also do online ordering for takeout. More...

Food is very good and the service is excellent. I say go for the lunch thali. The prices are easier on the wallet then. :)

So I think the initial kinks have been worked out and I'm so happy about it! Tonight's samosa chaat was delicious and had everything I needed and more. A few weeks ago I tried the lunch thali (veggie of course) and it was really good. The chutneys have been redone and are really, really good now. Overall, I enjoy this food more than the local competition. More...

You ever been so hungry just thinking about eating a specific food makes your mouth water? What's even better is when that food is cooked incredibly well and lives up to your tastebuds hype. My husband, the creature of habit he is, orders his favorite, a variation of a cone chicken. This go around he got the sesame Asian flavor, and it was fairly good. I loved the crunch on the few pieces he shared, although I found it a bit sweeter for my liking. No complaints from my old man though. We also shared a cheese kulcha, and if you haven't tried it, what are you waiting for? Two thumbs up from my kids.I wanted to try something different and got the chicken tikka, with curry - instead of it being dry. I usually order butter chicken, but holy mother of pearl, it was everything I dreamed of and then some. The  portion was easily shareable for two, but leftovers are always a plus. The chicken inside, the pieces were huge and plentiful. Anywhere I looked I could find chicken, and it was moist, and seasoned well. The veggies that were included in the curry were soft and very pleasant as well, no chewy or burnt pieces. This is going higher up on our "what do you want to eat, I don't know, what do you want to eat" list. This is, hands down, one of the best restaurants in Augusta /Evans. The food is amazing, freshly made, flavorful, well seasoned. The menu has a great variety, offers way more authentic choices than any of the Indian places in the area. The food quality and presentation is something you are more likely to find in an upscale restaurant in a big city; we are just lucky to have this kind of experience right here, in Evans. I have tried more than half of their menu at this point, and have loved most everything. If this is your first visite and you arent sure where to start, their lunch thali selection is a great place to start. Their naans are absolutely delicious; all the appetizers I have tried have been great as well. And you can't go here and not have their Dosa (I prefer their dosa masala with the amazing spicy potato stuffing!). So thankful to have Namaste as an amazing addition to the restaurant scene here! I love the flowers in the front and the fresh flowers on the tables. I finally had the chance to try this place out, and overall, I'd say the items I chose were good. Everyone was nice and the food came out not too long after I ordered. The menu has a lot to offer but I'm not a huge fan of having to order in the front. I enjoy reading over menus and putting thought into what I really want. I'm glad there wasn't a line behind me because it would've made me feel rushed. I do have to mention that I was not expecting the portions to be as large as they were but no complaints here. My kid had the butter chicken and paratha. She enjoyed it. I also ordered the samosa chaat and chicken korma. I hope this place does well. More...

There's plenty of parking and pretty simple to order or even pick food up.  Upon entering, the set up was a little different than I expected - counter ordering and self-bussing. Don't let this fool you because I really enjoyed the food here.I had the lamb biriyani-it had a kick of heat. I could've used more of the yogurt based sauce but never asked for more. Meat was flavorful and tender.I shared the kale pakora which I loved! I was recommended by someone else picking up their food. It reminds me of a lightly deep fried kale chip.I would definitely come back here for a quick fix and to try the naan. More...

We have now been back twice since my original review and really enjoyed it both times; more so than the first visit. We tried some of the street foods and really found them unique and delicious--you won't get these types of dishes at the other Indian restaurants in town. We had the samosa chaat--imagine chopped up samosas with fresh vegetables over it. Then we had the uttapam with chicken--fluffy pancake dish with vegetables and chicken cooked into it. Last we had the burrata butter chicken--we had it on our first visit and it's so creamy, flavorful and delicious. On our next visit we went for lunch and each had a thali--chicken for me and lamb for my husband. The thali had a meat curry, vegetable curry (green beans on the day we went), saag paneer, a Dahl like dish, dessert dish, and yogurt sauce. Served with naan and rice. It's an excellent deal and really delicious. After an average initial experience, we ventured out of our normal orders for our subsequent visits and sure are glad we did. We will definitely be. back. Went there while visiting my sister who lives in Augusta. We are Indian so finding quality Indian food is important to us, and we can be a bit snobby about finding the best places. This place was definitely a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the helpful staff. We ordered the garlicky cauliflower to start, and then the samosa chaat and paneer tikka masala with garlic naan. The food was tasty and authentic, and the portion sizes were generous. We both had leftovers for later - so we got to enjoy it twice! We will definitely be coming back here in the future. More...

I LOVE Namaste Indian Street Food!!!! Everything on the menu is made with care and precision with the freshest ingredients by Manoj (the owner) and Chef, who are extremely talanted and classically trained. They both worked as head chefs at The Augusta National and were boyhood friends in Kerla, in the South of India. They had a dream to open their own restaurant to pay homage to their roots in Indian cuisine and make DELICIOUS Indian Street Food accessible here in Augusta, Ga. In April 2018 their dream came true. Everyone is raving about how great the Butter Chicken and Garlicky Cauliflower are. The restaurant smells like Heaven as aoon as you go inside and the vibe is really positive. I love the music which is isually like a remix of Ravi Shankar and Bollywood-goodness. You feel transported. I had the honor of designing their first restaurant here in Evans, Ga. We wanted a modern take on Authentic Indian Cuisine. Namaste is great for lunch, dinner or a quick coffee or juice. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the restaurant it is very tidy/clean. Take-out is available and Door Dash/Ubereats/Augusta-To- Go. Try it today! You'll be happy you did! More...

There seems to be some new employees who are a little more friendly.I ordered the sriracha mayo chicken cone (chicken in a waffle cone), the mushroom truffle oil naan, and the iced namaste tea. We have been dying to try this place after seeing social media hype and reading other reviews.  I will admit the inside was a little more casual than I was expecting, but still clean and bright. We ordered the Murg Makkai Soup (thick corn and chicken soup), burrata butter chicken, and Goan street vindaloo with lamb, and garlic naan. The soup seemed to be somewhat of a misnomer. It was not thick at all; actually, it was quite thin. While it had the color of corn, there were no corn kernels to be found. The flavor was good, but overall was just very different that what we were expecting based on the description. The burrata butter chicken was delicious and a very decent portion. I often find myself wanting more meat at Indian restaurants when I order curry, but this place gave plenty of meat in their curry dishes. The Goan street vindaloo with lamb was different than I was expecting. The sauce was a very deep red/brown and almost a barbecue sauce taste, but had a nice spice level. The couple we went with had the tikka chicken, samosa chaat, cheese kulcha and shish kabob. They seemed to enjoy their food as well. However, we all agreed while the food was very good we weren't sure it's necessarily better than the other Indian options in town. More...

Tried this for the first time tonight. My family and I ordered Beef Ularthiyathu, Kottayam Sloppy Joes, Lamb Biryani, Chicken Tikka, Shish Kebab, and Coconut Fried Chicken. Order was takeout and they did not include the basmati rice attached to one of the orders. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Only warning...some of the dishes are slightly more spicy than the menu may lead you to believe. I ordered the Kottayam Sloppy Joes thinking my son would like them but after one bite he thought they were too spicy so we had to switch dishes - I loved them. We will be eating here again. More...

One of the best places I have eaten at in Augusta. It's a small restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring you your food. They served some alcohol here. I was being lazy but finally I had to write them a five star review. After moving from a city where Indian food meant curry only, visiting Namaste was a wonderful surprise. Ordered delivery since we just moved and were busy unpacking. The kids butter chicken meal was perfect size and flavor for all 3 of my kids. They loved the bread that went with and the mango lasse was awesome. I got the adult butter chicken and it was yummy, the vindaloo was a little more sour than I like but not inedible, just not my preference. Check your order.   I came in for a to go order and asked for one of the drinks while sitting and waiting but didn't get it until the to go order was ready around 30 mins later.  I had to ask about the mango lassi after they handed me my order and did a quick check when I got in the car and saw I didn't have rice. I went back in and they were nice about getting me rice quickly.  Unfortunately I drove 25 mins home only to realize they had not given me butter chicken but paneer.  I called to let them know and they asked if we wanted to bring it back and get the correct item but honestly I didn't want to spend another hour dealing with it. The food.  Overall the food was great.  Not spicy like I expect from Taj so now I know to order it with spice.  If you like spice make sure to ask. But overall the flavors were very good. I have been thinking about this place since I first tried it (12 days ago) and was hoping I could convince my husband to come with me. I made the mistake of ordering chicken tikka instead of chicken tikka masala but the chicken was done well, just wouldn't order it again because it's not what I usually like. My husband got the butter chicken and I ended up stealing several bites from his and it was fantastic and full of flavor. The garlic naan was near perfect. I'm not sure why but their menu and the way it's organized is a tad confusing to me. It doesn't seem to be organized all that well and makes things harder to find than I would like. Either way, bad menu or not, the food is delicious and I hope to keep coming back and trying new things off the menu! More...

I have been wanting to try this place since it opened and got the opportunity to try it today with a friend. I'm hoping they work some kinks out with the ordering system but they are relatively new so won't hold that against them. I got the chicken vindaloo ($14 which I thought was a bit steep for lunch prices but they don't seem to change from lunch to dinner) and they asked on a scale from 1-10 how hot I wanted it and since I love all things spicy but am also terrified to not enjoy it, I went with a 6. It was the perfect amount of spice and think I could go 7 or 8 next time. Full of flavor, good size dishes, the bowls they were served in were beautiful. My friend really liked her chicken tikka masala. We had naan on the side and that was fantastic. I also tried a mango lassi for the first time and really loved it and am not even a huge fan of mango. Can see this being a really nice treat on a hot day. I also got the mushroom & truffle oil stuffed naan to bring home for my husband and unfortunately didn't love that but will be trying another one the next time I'm in. Finally, Augusta has another option when it comes to Indian food. This place is fantastic. It's essentially Indian fast food. Has all the traditional favorites and and several American/Indian fusion options. I ordered chicken vindeloo and it was delicious. Perfect spice level. Also got a fried chicken cone as an appetizer. Delicious!!!  Kids ordered dosa which was as good as we've ever had and bhel pori which was also excellent. Employees were extremely nice.  Only negative is that the menu is limited when you order in person.  If you order online, it's extensive.  I love asking questions about stuff and you can't do that online. 24 April 2019

It's always nice when a new, not chain, place opens up in Augusta. Obviously as a newer restaurant there are some kinks that need to be worked out like some issues with the menu screen and some confusion about where food was supposed to go, but I think those issues are minor and will be fixed. Something that didnt have a problem was the food. It was awesome. Me and my father both got the Thali special, and both loved it. As people that were raised with food with strong indian influences, it brought us right back to our childhood, and with street food, i think thats exactly what its supposed to do. And they did it well. My meal had a great balance of flavors and different things to try. It felt like no conpromise indian comfort food, and that's exactly what I want when I eat food from a different culture than mine. I will definitely be returning. As for service, it was great. Everybody in the building was happy to help and tell us about some items on the menu, which is a nice change from miserable people in miserable places. You can tell they care about the food and satisfying the customer. Twice they came out out and ensured they food was good, you could see that it  was really important to them. Everybody should go here, especially if you're feeling more adventurous. More...

It is enough for a hungry person to finish and be satisfied but also enough to share between two people who aren't too too hungry. I don't think it's fancy Indian but definitely Indian street food. Our daughter wanted to try Namaste for her birth week lunch. I've never had Indian food before so I had a lot of questions. I am gluten free so I had to ask the associates which items were safe for me to eat. They were unsure so they pulled whom I  assume was the owner over and she was able to help me choose gluten friendly options. She was very friendly and patient with my questions. . She suggested the butter chicken. It was amazing. It comes with rice and was fresh and flavorful. Beautiful dish. Very large portion (loving leftovers). My husband got the coconut chicken. The sauce was very good. The chicken was "OK". I feel like there are too many entrees that come without a side of rice - for the price, rice should probably be included. I believe the restaurant just opened so they are still working on their flow. My daughter and I got our dishes several minutes before my husband received his which was disappointing, but the staff was very considerate and apologized. I feel like they will get their timing down. We will eat here again. It was a fresh and nice change from the usual choices in augusta. More...

I cannot believe how amazing this place is!! Not only is it easily the best Indian food in Augusta (so long Taj!) but it is the best Indian food I've had anywhere, including lots of major cities. And probably the best meal overall I've ever eaten in Augusta. I was not expecting that from an order-at-the-counter establishment. The dishes were so full of flavor and beautifully garnished. The naan has the chewy center you love and expect from naan but these wonderful crispy edges you can't get without a tandoori oven. The garlic naan in particular was incredible. I've never had it so well made. Lots of fresh chopped garlic that gets nice a crispy on the surface. We've tried several dishes and they've all been A+, but the lamb biryani in particular is just plain amazing. It lacked the gaminess you often get with lamb and was so tender and flavorful. And the rice it came with was full of bright herbs and seasonings. I wish I'd taken a picture!Try the burrata butter chicken too. Yum! But really my guess is there isn't a bad dish on the menu. This place is a true gem. I so hope it gets the local support it deserves. More...

Just had a yummy dinner of butter chicken, garlic naan, kale fritters and coconut fried chicken.  This is real Indian food with all the flavor you expect.  The dining experience is fast casual, you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table.  They did a great job with the branding and design - clean, simple and modern.  Our only complaint was that the coconut chicken entree didn't come with any sides.  I would suggest changing the menu so that all protein entrees are served with either naan or rice.  We'll be back! The portions and prices are really great and I was shocked by how beautiful and delicious the kids butter chicken was. The staff was professional and very attentive. I had the butter chicken and it was absolutely phenomenal. It was more complex than other butter chicken I've had and the chicken seemed to be tandoori or at least have it's own dedicated spices as well. You need to try the vegetable samosas because the sauces they provide you to dip with are out of this world,The rice pudding was very interesting and good. It wasn't like Mexican or other Indian rice pudding I've had before. It was heavily flavored with saffron and reminded me of Persian food. More...
