I loved my experience here. It's larger inside than expected so there are plenty of seats available. The staff are very attentive, checking in and refilling water glasses every 10 minutes or so. The food is so delicious and not too expensive. I recommend eating in if you get the chance. More...

So I want to give this place 5 stars but a few things are stopping me. The first time I went here for the lunch buffet the spread was amazing. Great selection. Delicious. Two salads, all of the dipping sauces, pakora, good selections of vegetable dishes, two kinds or rice, several delicious chicken dishes. Fast forward to the second time.... bad vegetable selection, goat and chicken gizzard dishes. I could get into it at all. Also, when I was there the first time they had this delicious Himalayan ice tea and they didn't have it the second time. Pretty disappointing. Also, not sure what goes on in the one side of the restaurant but there are constantly people coming and going and they are not there to eat which seems weird to me. The restaurant is very dark inside and could stand to use some updates. I will return since I had such a good experience the first time. More...

I'm not sure how they stay in business as it is always very quiet and sparsely occupied when I go. But that's half the charm. It's tough to find a nice, quiet restaurant, especially on Friday and Saturdays, where you can sit down and talk. Food is always consistent and tasty. More...

We have now been to Mount Everest 3 times and every single time we walk out raving about the food and the service. This place is awesome. Each time we come, we try something new, but one thing remains consistent - we start our meal with the Aloo Tikki Chat bc it is AMAZZZINNG! Our favorite meals so far have been - Chicken Vindalloo, Chicken Kadai, Chicken Taash (sort of like fajitas, but better) and if you're feeling like you want some of the ol faithful Chicken Tikka Masala, have no fear because they make some of the best! The naan is perfection and if you don't order it then I don't care to know you. End your meal with the some of the fried dumplings in syrup, just do it. I cannot recommend this place enough! It is truly one of our favorites. We plan to come back and try the lunch buffet soon! Much love to everyone at Mount Everest! More...

Our first time trying here. Very flavorful food, and spicy too. Some local Indian restaurants give you mild when you ask for spicy, but not Mount Everest. My only minor complaint is that the lamb biryani needed more meat compared to the rice, and at one point I bit into a whole cardamom pod. Still, they're head and shoulders above any other Indian place in the vicinity. More...

If you want delicious Indian food than you can't go wrong eating here.  Entering this non-imposing establishment at a strip mall off of Bel Air Road you will notice the roomy interior.  There is plenty of tables.  When we went there was hardly more than two other tables occupied.  The servers were nice and the food came out quickly.  We had the chicken korma, vegetable platter and garlic naan.  Everything was delicious, especially the garlic naan loaded with garlic.  The cons were the disappearing servers at the end of the service and the really loud and out of station music.  If they can fix the music and be more attentive towards the end of service this would be a five star review. The food here absolutely blew my mind. Mount Everest was my first experience with Indian or Nepali cuisine, and let's put it this way: I've been here three times this week. Not only is the food so reasonably priced, but the portion sizes are MASSIVE. The wait staff asks you how spicy you would like the food on a scale of 1-10, and the flavors of the food are still so vibrant with the heat. The staff is so helpful and friendly, they helped my boyfriend and I navigate our way trough the menu. The food is top notch. The skill and artistry that goes into these intricate dishes is truly second to none. They have vegan and vegetarian options for those who prefer. Everything is so fresh, perfectly seasoned and they spare absolutely nothing for tradition, 10/10 recommend. More...

They offer a level for how spicy you would like the food to be. The portion sizes are MASSIVE. They brought out freshly made bread quickly. This is my go-to Indian restaurant in Baltimore. The food is consistently tasty; and the servers are fast and polite. They always make sure that our glasses are filled with water. My grandmother is a huge fan of their gulab jamon (an Indian dessert). However, for lunch buffet, they alternate between that and rice pudding every other day. My grandmother was disappointed, but the server heated up some gulab jamon just for her. I have nothing but glowing recommendations for this place. They go above and beyond in service, and the food is always top notch. Their carry out is always very quick, and delivery takes about 45 minutes. Either way, you always receive a smile. Accidentally wound up at this unexpected gem last night.  Often at Indian restaurants, the food tastes pasty, blah, and stale.  Like it came from pre-packaged sources, and/or has been sitting around forever.  Everything at Mount Everest was fresh and delicious.  We even got to try an extra appetizer (for free) because of a mixup that was promptly resolved.  Extensive menu incorporating traditional Northern and Southern Indian, along with Nepalese dishes.  Can vouch for: Samosa Chat, Grilled Shrimp (free appetizer), Baingan Ka Bhartha, Masala Dosa, and Garlic Naan.  So Delicious!  Only downside experienced: the staff was a little hard to communicate with; but not sure if that was on them, or because we were slightly inebriated.  If you enjoy Indian cuisine, go here. I really enjoyed this restaurant! I went there for the lunch buffet on a Saturday with my mother and children. We were the first ones there (right when they opened) but it started to fill up rather quickly. The selection was good. They have mostly Indian food, and a few American dishes  (my son loved the fish sticks). They also had two desserts, fresh fruit, their delicious spiced tea, and a sweet juice. We all left full and very satisfied. I like the buffet lunch option because I can sample a bit of everything from a cuisine that I am unfamiliar with. I'll be back! More...

My wife and I loved this place so much that we decided to have it served for our wedding dinner banquet! Lalit (one of the really friendly and knowledgeable servers) helped us out a lot. I have lived in the Baltimore area for about 6 years and tried about 5 different Indian restaurants and this one is my favorite. Had a random craving for indian cuisine. I heard of Mount Everest before but had never been. So this made my first experience at this restaurant. On the outside it may not look like much, but the interior is rather decent. Greeted and seated right away. Great selection and variety on the menu. I had the samosa chaat and coconut shrimp as a appetizer. The chaat portion was bigger then expected. Good flavors, not heavy or spicy. I ordered the curry goat and shrimp masala. Came with basmati rice. I also ordered naan bread. You can pick your spice level, i wish i would have gotten more kick for the masala but the goat was perfect! Servers were tidy and attentive. This was my first time eating Indian food, and it was quite good! We got the chicken Tikka Masala, lamb jalfrezi, and regular Naans. Before your meal comes out they give you "poppers" that are like tortillas but really thin and crispy. They're quite salty. Two sauces came out to pair with it, one tasted sweet and the other was a green cilantro sauce and they both were really good! Service was nice, there was one young lady and a man who seemed like the owner. They were both very nice and the food didn't come out long to take. The food was good! BUT I did want to give THREE stars because  for the price the bowls seems so small! We were a party of three and we finished our dishes, and it was enough, but I just felt like it looked a LOT smaller than I expected for about $12-14 per dish. Also, one order of Naans gives you 4, and I didn't realize it was like one Naan cut into quarters. It was very good with the tikka Masala cream tomato sauce and the green cilantro sauce as well. It was overall good experience. But next time I want Indian food, I'm probly going to look for a joint where they serve more for that price. More...

Our waiter was helpful showing me what my vegan options were. Even when I took a century getting every last drop of food onto the doggie bad to savor every last little morsel. "So it doesn't go to waste" as my exciting g high pitch voice said. Food: I had a cup of lentil coconut soup. I am a big fan of the other Mount Everest indian food restaurant, so I decided to try this one thinking it was part of a chain. My friend and I went around 8 or 9pm for take-out (it's all they have), and we were a bit terrified by the area. Regardless of the location's appearance, the food was fantastic. I ordered the chicken curry, 2 vegetable samosas, and Naan bread, and they gave me enough to feed 3 people! It was great example of when not to judge a book by its cover.P.S. - to the regulars who order from here, try some of the indian food. We eat here about once a week. For a hot second, the food was really inconsistent. Two weeks in a row, I thought they legit gave me the wrong dish. Maybe the regular chef was off? Who knows, we stuck with them and they have been on point for a while now- so I figure I should write something.Corn Chowder is blaze! The flavor is good. It just needs salt (not a complaint). Sometimes when we get it, its like crazy thick and amazing, sometimes less thick but flavor is good. If mount everest reads this: Keep it on the thick side!Huge fans of: lamb biryanilamb and chicken kormachicken tikka platterpaneer tikka plattermalai kofta.lamb saagthe aloo tikka chaat appetizer is also amazing.Huge portions for the price- always enough for breakfast/lunch the next day. Sometimes we pick up, sometimes they deliver, depends how much pants are on. Disadvantage to delivery is that the naan gets all steamy. But what can you do.The only other thing I wonder about is their Naan Special coupon. Its a great deal. 25$ for either a chicken or veggie dish and 2 naans. The few times we've order this, I think they take from the buffet and add chicken to it (nothing wrong with that concept- JS)It just doesn't have that "whole" flavor like if chicken and juices were cooked into it. So if you are a vegetarian- go for it. They are quick and give out hot food consistently and the portion are great and the staff are very friendly.. Buffet was good the times we went, but again, not a huge fan of just veg dishes. Plus they don't make the buffet spicy. All in all, glad this place is our Indian place. Always something to look forward too. More...

This restaurant is a bit pricey but the food was generally delicious. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Jhalfrezi, Lamb Chops and Naan with Hummus. The bread was freshly baked to buttery perfection that we finished it off right away. The hummus was spot on! The Chicken Tikka was awesome. The Lamb Jhalfrezi was okay. Sometimes, all I want is a nice crispy samosa or some hot and satisfying shorba.  The versions supplied by Mount Everest definitely hit the spot.  There are lots of varying choices on their lunch buffet, and their dinner entrees are large and delicious with deep flavor.  It seems like you get more when you order carryout than when you dine it, but the containers could be deceiving.  Service is friendly and prompt, and their dining area is huge so there is never a wait. My only gripe, and this is with all Indian restaurants, is why you can't sub naan bread for your rice.  I could see an upcharge for the specialty naan, but I would much rather skip the rice all together and just have some bread.  This place is a solid choice if you are craving quality Indian food. These guys deliver, so that's a big plus. We typically get the Chicken Korma, Vegetable Samosas, Tandoori Chicken, and Naan (plain).  They'll amp up the spice if you ask them nicely, and you can order through Yelp. There's also a lunch buffet if you get here early enough.  The food is generally good but not outstanding. We had an excellent experience and will definitely be returning soon. Don't let the location fool you. We have lived close by for over a year and were underwhelmed by the location, thinking "can there really be great Indian cuisine in such a lackluster strip mall? " We decided to try it out recently and loved it. The inside is decorated just like traditional Indian restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly. But the food? Definitely above our expectations. I've never been to an Indian restaurant that asks you how spicy you want your dish to be. As someone who loves spicy food, I really appreciated this - and I'm sure someone who does not would appreciate it as well. I had channa masala, a dish that while flavorful lacks the spice I love. So they made it extra spicy for me and I've been craving it ever since. My boyfriend had the chicken vindaloo (also on the spicy side) and loved every bite. We also shared some naan that was stuffed with cheese and fruit - it was decadent and super tasty. We will definitely return for dine in, as well as add it to our list of favorite carry out places. It's now our go to Indian restaurant!*update - this continues to be our favorite Indian restaurant in the area, whether we do dine in or carry out it's always awesome! More...

Took my parents here when they were wanting Indian food. Specifically a buffet. They were skeptical, but I felt hopeful because of the Yelp reviews. We all thoroughly enjoyed the lunch buffet. It was very affordable and included some beverages other than water. Who does that? It was amazing!  The food was different than what we have had at other places, but in a good way. The naan is soft and pillowy. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Both of my picky parents (who are from India) really loved it.Great place for a Nepali/Indian buffet. Don't pass it up. There isn't a lot of special bells and whistles to this place.  Clean dining room.  Attentive wait staff.  I've only been here for lunch buffets.  There aren't dozens of choices.  But the 6 or 8 dishes they do serve are excellent.  The most popular and always present are chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken.  The orange sauce from the tikka masala is just full of flavor, and the chicken is moist.  Lots of other places have big chunks of dry chicken -- not here.  Their tandoori chicken is also very moist and tender.  This dish is can also be very dry in a buffet setting.  Other offerings include many vegetarian dishes, usually a saag or lentil dish.  The last couple times I've seen chicken curry which also has a flavorful light sauce.  There are vegetable samosas and a chick pea/cucumber salad.  The generous portion of naan is very welcome in mopping up all the great sauces.Price can't be beat.  All this for $10-12 (cheaper on weekdays) after tax and tip. Really great food and very nice staff. The menu is great and the food is super flavorful. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the protein portions can be a little small and some dishes contain more bones than actual meat. Great job again on flavors!

We checked out their buffet for the first time ever on Monday and it was pretty nice . It had some of the classic dishes and for 8. 99 its a great price! The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the lack of spice to the butter chicken , I make mine with a lot of garam masala but theirs was more salty than spiced . The waiters were really nice and attentive and the place was clean . I look forward to going back to try their meals . More...

Mount Everest has gotten better and better over the past few years. Their restaurant has been remodeled and their buffet is consistently hot and delicious. Pretty decent Indian buffet at lunch time. Inexpensive, about $10ish per person. As much chai as I can handle?!?!?!? I say yes to this over and over again! Most of the options are vegetarian with one or two chicken. It probably helps them keep the cost down. If you've ever wanted to try Indian but balk at the idea of $14 entrees, a lunch buffet is the perfect way to go and check out new things at very little risk to your wallet. I was skeptical of an Indian-Nepali-American restaurant. The outside of the restaurant was not very flashy. In fact it looked dark like it was closed except for the "open" sign. However, inside it was warm and welcoming. The hosts are very friendly. I ordered the Samosa chat - it was a little more sour than I would prefer it. I then ordered the chicken chow mein. This was excellent! The chicken was cooked just right and had good flavor. The crunch of the peppers complimented the softness of the noodles. I brought the chow mein home as leftovers, but ate it up as soon as I got home! Will definitely return! More...

Excellent food in an unexpected location!! Don't let the terrible low-rent KMart anchored strip mall put you off. Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated, service is friendly and quick, food top notch. They do a good job isolating you from the dreary exterior! You can BYOB - and the have wine glasses there. Nice touch.Menu is good mix of standard Indian fair, Nepalese dishes, and some more unusual offerings. We started with veggie pakoras- nice crispy spicy patties with the standard sweet tamarind and spicy cilantro chutneys. Naan and roti were hot and fresh-- really good.  I had goat chillipuri- tender stewed goat in a thick, tomato-chili sauce- Mmm good!  My son had shrimp junelly- large tasty shrimp in a creamy spicy sauce with bits of pepper and onion- very good! My wife had tandoori shrimp- also excellent!! Steamed  basmati rice on side. We had room for dessert- gulab thingees like little donut holes in syrup-- mmmmm damn good!! Worth the trip out!! More...

Loved this place! I was jonesing for southern Indian food, and there aren't many options in Baltimore. The masala dosa was awesome. I asked for it extra spicy, and they complied. The kitchen mixed up our order, so it took a while, but the server brought out an extra dosa while we waited--nice touch. I can't wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu. Everything we had was great, but we were eating light that night. They have the usual northern Indian dishes we know and love, and if they are as good as the dosai, this could be a five-star review. I'll start off by saying Im only giving it a 4 out of 5, because I dont feel Ive experienced enough Indian cuisine to have enough of an informed opinion, as to what separates a 3 from a 5. However, I do cook a lot. I watch a lot of cooking shows (lol). Im pretty savvy when it comes to many different ethnic foods, and my gf DOES have a lot of experience with Indian cuisine--good and bad, all over the county, so Ill convey a lot of her opinion. We havent found quality Indian food in the Baltimore area, and we've hit quite a few. One was inconsistently good.We loved Mount Everest. We havent dined at the restaurant--only had it delivered. The sauces were authentically seasoned, which was a complaint of mine at other places. I dont know if they(other places) feel the need to "americanize" dishes, but, when I go to Indian, Mexican, Asian restaurants, please serve it authentic. Secondly the quality of freshness came out. Thirdly, I cant complain about the portions. The Lamb Curry and Roganjoshwas awesome, the veggie samosas were just ok, as the turnovers werent cooked quite properly, but, not bad. They gave you more naan and rice than you really needed. We've ordered there 3 times now, and its been consistently excellent. More...

Getting delivery from this place is great. Better than going to the buffet there. I work near there but don't have the time to actually go there and eat so I get delivery. The delivery is FAST. I'm talking about 20-30 minutes. Most of the time around 20 minutes compared to the usual delivery services around the area being at least twice as long. I usually get their lamb/goat dishes but sometimes get the chicken tikka masala or the chicken vindalloo. Goat curry or the lamb roganjosh are my favorites from this place. The saag paneer is good too if you're a fan of creamed spinach and cheese cubes.Warning: On a rare occasion you might bite on a piece of bone in their meat dishes so tread careful!y!Their buffet is OK. I went to this restaurant with my friends after a while, and was surprised with an improvement the management made, the ambiance was far better than before, the divider wall  frame built the place more cozy and warm. We had some lamb and chicken dishes, the food was so delicious, only thing we suggested to server is entrée should have choice of naan or rice, I guess many people love naan with curry/saucy items rather than rice.I also want to mention that the service delivered to us was fabulous,  very friendly and attentive servers, had a great dining experience.I wish I could visit the restaurant often to have that "wow" food and service, but sadly, I live in Fairfax and come over Baltimore to visit friends at least once a month, won't miss any time to be there. I got delivery from them last night. It was just me, and I ordered what I usually order from Indian restaurants: bangan bartha and tomato soup. They were both very good. They let you specify how spicy you want your eggplant online when you order (I chose spicy, I was not disappointed). The tomato soup was like a veggie broth with cumin seeds and cilantro. Awesome, delicious food. I've only ever gotten carry out. This unassuming shopping center restaurant is a hidden gem, we have been eating here for years, but never bother to write a review.  Each and every time we eat here or get carry out, the staff is attentive and polite. I often order an item not on the menu and they always accommodate. This is the perfect place to take someone new to e cuisine. Last night, my Mother in law experienced Indian for the first time, we ordered an assortment of appetizers and Chaat, not on the menu and each was fresh and delicious. We followed that with tandoori chicken which was moist and well seasoned. Veggie Korma which featured a beautiful curry- my only compliant was the lack of cauliflower. I travel a lot and always look for good Indian restaurants since the ones where I live are quite terrible. While passing through Baltimore, I hit upon this gem. Ate there for lunch. The buffet has lots of different things on it, including standards like Chicken Tikka Masala and Tandori Chicken, the latter of which was the first time I've eaten it and it not been incredibly dry. Overall, this is the BEST Indian restaurant I've found - and I've eaten in great ones in LA, Seattle, NYC, San Diego, Jersey and lots of other places. I can't wait to stop here on my next trip through Baltimore.Service here was more attentive than most Indian restaurants. The weekend buffet was a great value at $10.99. For the amount of food and the quality of food, they could really charge a LOT more. It truly is a steal. The naan that they bring out is also great (some places do it poorly). Food on the buffet was always fresh too. I saw them bringing out small batches to refill it, which is probably why it was so fresh and good. Many places I've been to put out a ton of each thing so if you get there late it is kinda gross. Not this place. I can't recommend it enough.Lots of free parking since it is in a shopping area. Please do not attend their lunch buffet. Though better than most buffets, it lacks the flavor and care that would draw one to seek out the best indian food in Baltimore. Fret not, this title is held by this restaurant, but if and only if you order out (after the buffet ends). The chicken tikka masala is fantastic order it medium with a side of naan. The entree can feed two comfortably. Creamy, tomatoey, spicy, and just the right thickness...don't be afraid to let it thicken a bit if you can stave off the drive to strip away the suran wrap from the attractive and sturdy plastic bowls. If you are looking for something a bit hotter go for the chicken chile. Ask for extra jalepenos to heat it up. The flavor is  not overwhelming but exceeds that of the dry tandoori chicken on the buffet. Tomatoes, onions...delicious.I apologies for my addiction to chicken dishes but they are superb. The chicken saag is another one I love. This one gets pretty spicy and rivals the flavor of the tikka masala. Creamy. The spinach is not worked down to a liquified mess and  doesn't leave you picking stems out of your teeth...perfect.Vegetarian? Vegetable korma. Appetizer? Momos. Do not go hunting in Baltimore city for Indian restaurants if you do not have to. The carryout experience from this restaurant  involves solid prices and genuine service with food as good as anything else I've had to date.Tip: Do not ever order from any Indian buffet in this state ever again. We had Samosas for appetizer, chicken and lamb kabobs for the main entree, nut and raisin naan and rice pudding for desert.. The portions were larger than normal. The chicken was tender, the lamb was not over-spiced. the onions and peppers were charred on the edges as opposed to getting served raw on a hot skillet (perfect) . Yum!!I recently ventured here to satisfy an Indian food craving and thoroughly enjoyed the food. After perusing the menu, I called to place an order to pick up to bring back to my friend's place to share. We decided on the momo (dumplings), chicken tikka masala (spicy please), and naan to dip in the sauce. The dumplings were really good. Tons of spice and flavor and I liked that they used wonton skin because it was thin and mild and really let the filling shine. The chicken tikka masala was one of the best I've ever had. It had the flavor I'm used to but it wasn't overly oily and greasy like many Indian restaurants I've been to. It was creamy and delicate and the portion size was really generous with plenty of chicken. The two of us weren't able to finish it. The naan was nice and fluffy and I could tell it was really fresh because it didn't turn crunchy or dry out immediately after it was removed from its little foil pouch. That's something that happens to naan that's slightly older and has been reheated poorly. The guy that got my order and helped me check out was really nice and friendly and gave me a little discount, just because, which I thought was generous of him. The decor is a little kitschy but I'll give then an A for effort. More...

I went to visit a friend in Baltimore County this weekend, and my friend suggested this place. It's a mix of Indian, Nepalese and American cuisine. We wanted to try the all you can eat, $9.99 buffet, which was open until 3 p.m. that day. The buffet was delicious, and there was a choice of at least a dozen or more prepared food items. The choices leaned more toward Indian, and I only saw 1 Nepalese dish, Alu Tama, a potato dish that was very good. The rest was standard Indian cuisine if you've ever been to an Indian buffet: Chicken Tiki Masala, Chicken and Goat Curry, Vegetable Korma, Chicken Kebab and Tandori Chicken. Then there's the desserts: Golub, Rice Pudding and even fresh fruit. The service was good, friendly and attentive and a nice atmosphere to sit with friends. I've been going to their buffet for a while now and it has become a weekly if not bi-weekly family outing. I've consistently been impressed with their food especially there chicken tiki masala which is the bomb. Their are reasonable priced at around 7-8$ buffet during the week and 10$ on the weekend with buffet running from 11:00am till 3:00pm. For all you can eat it's the best! Personally my favorite is the chicken tiki masala. For desert, a weakness of mine is their kheer (pronounced like dear but with a k). So I've been ordering take-out from their Frankford Ave location (5 minutes drive) for 5+ years now and only just now realized they had a restaurant.  I can't believe I've overlooked this for so long!  When we were new to the area, we tried some of their take-out to break up the usual pizza/wings monotony.  It was fantastic and we've been fans since then.  When we found their restaurant, we just had to eat there and we were not disappointed.  I visited on a Friday evening with my wife and 4 1/2 yr old daughter and we were warmly greeted and promptly seated.  Alcohol is BYOB and were brought a nice bottle of Cotes du Rhone red (Grenache blend).  We love their food and over-ordered because we really wanted those leftovers.  We ordered the assorted appetizer plate, Naan (regular and garlic), Himalay Chana Masala  (chana masala with home-made cheese), Bhindi Masala (okra masala), and Lamb Biryani.  We received complimentary Gulab Jamun for dessert.  We love okra and really enjoyed the Bhindi and are always glad to have lamb biryani.Business was light (only three or four tables seated while we were there) but the service could not have been better.  The staff were attentive, gave us plenty of time to order (can be difficult with a 4 yr old sometimes) and really just treated us like stars.  It was truly a heartwarming experience how welcoming and friendly they were.  We can't wait to go back.Really folks, you need to try this place.  And us fans should form a support group or something because there seems to be a cult following, but not yet a critical mass. Okay, Yelp peeps.  I'm counting on you...every time I go here I'm the only person in the place.  If you read my reviews, and live in Baltimore, please go give this place a try!  I don't want to lose a gem like this and neither do you!(Okay, and I know they're Nepalese, but their South Indian food--dosas and sambars--cannot be beat!) So, I've been here twice, and loved it both times. After digging out from the crazy blizzard(s) of 2010, my fiance and I decided to give their lunch buffet a go. We're so happy they did! Fresh naan was delivered to our table, and we were treated like kings and queens. The buffet was nicely stocked with a great Indian Chicken Soup, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, and other great tasting dishes that I'm sure I cannot pronounce. All this food for under $9.00! Now the area that this place is in leaves much to be desired... (Next to a Big K!? Those still exist?!) But man up and walk on in! You won't regret it. More...

Wow!  I yelped restaurants in Parkville, hoping to find something other than Clementine (which I love).  I saw Mt. Everest and wasn't familiar with it, though I've lived in Parkville for over 5 years.  I didn't know of it's existence because of the location.  Unfortunately, it's located in a dingy shopping center with a KMart, McDonald's and not much else.  But what a gem! What I first noticed when I walked up, was that the windows were being cleaned.  Then when I stepped inside, I noticed that everything was immaculate. But what stood out the most was the food.  It was amazing!  I've been to several Indian restaurants in Baltimore and DC and this is a new favorite of mine.  And lucky for me it's right in my neighborhood!I'm really looking forward to checking out their weekend buffet. The staff was very friendly and everything tasted great.  The prices were about average as far as Indian restaurants go, but if you're looking for something different in the Parkville area, this is your place!!I am not the type to write reviews, but given it's location, I sincerely hope this place doesn't go out of business.  It's a wonderful place.  And unfortunately only 4 families were dining there on a Sunday night, which is a shame.Places like this should get much more business than, say, Olive Garden or other chains. One of my favorite restaurants in the Parkville area. Food is consistently good, the staff is friendly and I've never felt rushed. Go for the Nepali specialties I don't know anywhere in Baltimore to get them otherwise and they are excellent and a little different than traditional Indian food. More...

I can't come up with any explanation as to why there is an amazing Indian/Nepalese/Burmese restaurant in the Overlea-Fullerton area, but I'm not going to complain.  It bewilders me as to why people will wait an hour and a half to go to the Olive Garden in White Marsh when they could have far superior food just 10 minutes away at Mt. Everest, and be served immediately. The food seems to be branded primarily Nepalese, though it really is mostly indian dishes with a few items from Nepal.  The menu is very extensive with many Northern selections, a Southern indian side of the menu (mostly dosas), Chow Chow noodles, and a few other signature items.Everything from appetizer, entree, and parathas were fantastic.  They ask what level of spice you want with each dish, and when I said extra extra hot they definitely obliged.  One of the spiciest offerings I've ever had at a restaurant. They also offer a lunch buffet which I would love to try sometime.  The place was almost completely empty at dinner on a Saturday so I hope the word gets out and they get busier.  It would be a real shame to lose this place and leave us with IHOP, Olive Garden, and Bob Evans as the sole restaurant offerings nearby!
