You can have the most beautiful site in the world for your business, but if it doesn't convert, or Google doesn't like it, it's not going to get much traction and can be a burden.

What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked at a few agencies in SD after moving from LA. I saw a lot of "money guys" (with no design/development/campaign experience) selling customers on "key words/phrases", having more clients than they could handle, and outputting poor work and not actually helping their clients reach their goals.
