So amazing. Best döner I’ve had outside of Europe.
I had heard of this food truck and wanted to try it for years. Finally I spotted it on 5th street for lunch when I was stuck downtown last week and it was even better than I expected! I got the classic pita sandwich with chicken. Thank you for making my day awesome! More...
great food. can't get what they serve any where else in the us at that price and authenticity
Dear Lord! At 1p I hadn't eaten and now I'm not sure I can until tomorrow. I always yearn to eat from the food trucks but working in the east end I am rarely around them for lunch. Or, I'm at an event with my kids and they are unappreciative of the food and my money. Today we went to Fleur de Flea Market - just me and my husband - and ordered from Germany's #1 Food.J got the brat which was twice as long as his bun but I made the wiser choice to order the Classic pita with chicken. It was massive! And delicious! Shaved chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, 2 types of cabbage, tiziki sauce but hold the onions. It was $9 and a full meal, no sides needed. The team was super friendly and our food came out fast. I'll be looking for them in the future, but was told they are regulars downtown: More...
Had a kebab during the food truck festival at waterfront park and it reminded me of when I studied abroad in Germany it tasted so authentic. I have never seen this food truck anywhere else until today but if I do see it again I would get the same thing. The house dressing was great too. More...
Great portion size and full of flavor.
One of the best downtown trucks! This food is delicious! Love the cones!

The food was amazing, service was fast, and the guy was so friendly!!!

Excellent food. Lunch was great! Danke Schön! Viele Grüße und Glückwünsche
Unbelievable. It's as if I'm back in Germany. Super friendly!
The best Doener / Pita in the US! Always to find their spots

I was satisfied with dürüms döners that was ordered and my husband kindly hunt to get for me. Herb sauce was little thicker/spicy then in Germany but still loved it. Got a chicken and beef/lamb wrap (dürüms). My most favorite was the chicken! Definitely returning to get my fix!! :D Thank you, you guys are great!! More...
I was in Germany for a few weeks and fell in love with Donar Kebabs! I think everywhere we traveled this was our favorite street food. I am happy to report this was a treat to finally have again. The bread (pita) is fresh, with the right amount of soft inner goodness balanced with a toasted outside. The meat is spiced correctly, moist and savory. Also, all the toppings are fresh, crisp and in perfect balance. Lastly, the sauces are amazing... I mix the house and tzatziki. Thank you for finally bring this food to America! I will seek you out every time when in Louisville. I'm gonna go lay down fat kid fulfilled style. More...
Good food, good service, good sized portions. Definitely worth a try. We got the beef and lamb platter, which came with fries and a salad. Pretty decent overall.
Germany's #1 Food Truck stopped at the Forum Office Centre today. I don't work there, but had heard from FB it was going to be there. Excellent German food and great service. I had the Doner Kebab and the currywurst. Took it home and shared it with my German friend. She enjoyed the Doner Kebab The only things missing...seating area and oompah music! More...
We ordered for the first time at the recent Buy Local Fair at The Water Tower. My wife and I shared a Cone Box, with chicken, beef 'n lamb, all the toppings and the yogurt-herb dressing. Let me make this easy.....IT WAS FABULOUS! Wow!! Very friendly staff on the truck. Highly recommend! More...

Shout out to these amazing guys saving the day for me with quarters lmao. Definitely 5 stars on curtsey, care and hospitality. Ice cold cokes as well lol. Definitely check them out. More...
Found them at the Foodie Flea that was part of the Fleur De Flea Vintage Urban Market this past weekend. There was a small queue lined up but it moved pretty fast. They had even laid out samples of three dishes. The menu is pretty simple - you choose your style (pita, cone, wrap or bowl etc), protein, toppings and sauces. It takes only a few minutes to put together. I got the classic döner kebab, which is chicken in a pita sandwich. I got it with the Yogurt-Herb sauce and sriracha. For $10, the portion was huge. The chicken was nice and tender and the sauces made it a delicious sandwich. The chicken had some unique spices that I couldn't exactly place but were rich, just the same. If I find the truck again, I want to try their döner heaven which is a cone-box with the same stuffing. Highly recommend this food truck! More...
Definitely in my top 5 'Ville food trucks. Finally excited to see a real döner!
Great food and great people! It's one thing this town was missing until 2015 - a Döner (and a Currywurst)! I've been back regularly and haven't had anything but tasty and filling lunches!
You're really getting an authentic experience here! This truck offers a blend of Turkish food and some German staples, great for lunch with plenty of options and ways to customize. Good quality and a fun experience... it makes me miss Berlin! More...
The currywurst was great!!! I had it in Berlin and was so happy to find it here. And they are very friendly.

I love the Heaven, it's accurately named. Their food is great.
Wow just wow. So yummy and definitely worth the wait.
It took almost a year to finally try this food truck out. On a random Wednesday during Old Lou Brewery trivia night. I got to admit my expectations were over the top. You see, I grew up in a small town in Germany so there's that. I guess I'll start with the customer service. The owner is actually German and speaks it fluently . One check. He explained some of their dishes because im used to traditional meals. Check two. And check three, they prepare everything fresh in 5-10 mins. As for the food, it was amazing of course. They have a smaller menu, which makes sense. I tried the Döner Kebab and was def satisfied. The new dishes are a mix of Mediterranean and German, something im still getting used to. Although they have some traditional food like Bratwurst. Def try it out if you can. They wont be here long. Looks like the owner will be moving to California in the next year. More...
I've tried this doner.. and damn.. it's exactly like the German style doner. Best I've had in my visit in America.
Delicious! Ordered the #1 classic with chicken and loaded it with vegetables and my friend ordered the brat and roll with sauerkraut. We received our food very quick. We also ordered fries and they were crispy and hot. Prices were reasonable. Paid $16 for both lunches. Excited to come back again and try other items on the menu. More...
I had a super duper delicious döner wrap that they gave me at a discount when they were out of the bratwurst I wanted. These people are real sweethearts and they make terrific food!

Outstanding in every way...the UOR Show thanks you!
I had the chicken pita today, it's the closets thing to Israeli shawarma I've had in a long time; so go I ordered a second one.
The Doner Bomb was terrific, highly recommended. Great meal!
I had the chicken Döner Kebab which was delicious! Perfectly seasoned!
One of my favorite food trucks in the city. The Doner heaven is well... heaven. One of my favorites meals ever.
Tried this place today when they were downtown between Humana and NCT, and I have to say that I was really impressed. I had the currywurst combo, (currywurst, fries, a roll, ketchup/mayo, and a drink). The sauce was very good, and while not spicy, was great on both the sausage and the fries. Roll and fries were also really good as well. It's been several years since I've been to Germany, but it definitely reminded me of the food I had when I was over there. I actually found that the curry sauce + mayo on the fries reminded me a lot of the way you got fries from the street stalls in Belgium. I'll be back to try the Doner next time! More...
Excellent food & customer service! The #1 Döner Classic is my go-to.
The very first thing I do when I visit Germany is get a Döner. As soon as I'm out of the airport to be exact. When I heard this truck was in Louisville I was skeptical, but so many people said it was just like they had in Germany. So after months of trying to catch them I finally got there and ordered a Döner. Sure enough it was just like the ones I've had in Germany! MY only mistake was not getting the spicier sauce as I always preferred it in Germany, but it just gave me an excuse to go back as soon as possible! Also next test is the Currywurst. If only they could sell some good German beer... More...
I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. Authentic German döner, authentic yogurt taziki, authentic pita. This guy came from Germany with dreams of having a good truck and omg he succeeded. I want everyone to try the döner heaven, as it is actual heaven. I haven't tried the currywurst yet, but that is next. Thank you so much for being in Louisville, Germany's #1. More...
Really nice dude and the food is phenomenal. As close as you can get in the states to the real deal.

when people ask me what I miss most about Germany I usually say "the food" but now I finally have a piece of "homefood" right here in Louisville! The Döner tastes just like in Germany and I can't wait to try Curry wurst!!! More...
The one food I've craved the most since visiting Germany is döner kebab, and I've always thought it would be impossible to get in the states. I'm so glad I stumbled across this truck (and by stumbled I mean I saw it on yelp and power walked 3 blocks) because this tastes EXACTLY like it did in Germany!! If Louisville ever figures out how good döner kebabs are, this guy will need a fleet of trucks. I'll be eating here again on my next visit! More...
best darn sandwich around.....bar none!!! was waiting for the lamb doner and the did it!!! chicken doner is fantastic too.....can't wait for home delivery
Wow- seriously great food! I lived in Germany for a couple of years and the food from Germany's #1 FOOD is exactly like what I remember! Good food and great folks!
The Donner Heaven is amazing! It's big enough to share for lunch. Definitely recommend!
I haven't had a Doner since '04! Delicious! I hope to see you back again at 300 E. Market!
I normally go and review my oldest check ins in order (don't judge me), but I have a lot to get through and what I have to say about Germany's #1 Food truck needs to be said NOW. AMAZING! FANTASTIC! DELICIOUS! PURE HAPPINESS IN FOOD FORM!-words I would use to describe their Döners.I have been trying to get to this food truck since my sister told me about it when she first heard about it in October. But they were downtown, or I would see where they were and it would be too late to get to them, so when I saw they were going to be down the street in the Commerce Crossing area the first time this past Monday., I planned my day around it. I am not kidding. I was smiling like an idiot on the way to the food truck, ordering, waiting for my food, and smiling even more like an idiot when I was able to get out a Danke, instead of just thank you. I got my Döner back to my desk, unwrapped it and ALL WAS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD! I got the Döner Classic, no onions, add feta (everything's betta with feta). It was messy, and a lot of food, and 1 million percent worth it. They were back again today, I was able to order auf Deutsch, still with my stupid giant smile of excitement. Easily one of my favorite food trucks around! More...
Highly recommended!!! I love this food truck!!! It's my first time to try a Doner heaven and it was delicious. I love the bratwurst too especially the currywurst. Their french fries with added mayo and ketchup makes me want to eat one right now. And don't forget to get their chocolate dessert. It's my favorite Kinder bueno and kinder riegel. If you want to know where they are located just message them on their Facebook page Germany's #1Food and they'll respond right away. Go ahead and try them and you'll definitely go back for more. 5 stars for a food truck. Both chicken and sauage are delicious. Pricing is reasonable. I highly recommend it!
I have to compliment my friend & family from good old Germany ( truck ) on his accomplishment with the Döner-business he started in Louisville. Let me tell u this, I owned a Döner business for years in Germany and I always thought of course I made the best Döner but I have to admit that Samuel is doing a pretty darn good job. If u want a piece of heaven, find his truck in the metro business center. U will not regret it, from the classic to the plate to the Currywurst & Pommes ! He has it all. And on top of that a very nice guy! Auf eine gute und lange Freundschaft! More...
Sehr lecker und definitiv ein Heimweh-Heilmittel! :) Danke!
First of all I messaged the truck asking where they would be, and they responded quickly with the information I was asking for. I could not make it that day but they told me there schedule for the next few days. I ate there today and was blown away. I will probably wat there again tomorrow. I haven't had an authentic Döner since I moved away from Austria 10 years ago. I can't wait to go back. More...
The best Doner Kebab I've had outside of Germany.
It's like Louisville heard my deepest secret wish to be able to find and eat and love Döner Kebabs in the United States.. ..and one-upped me by making it a food truck and then doubled down by their decision to be up and running often within walking distance of my office!Yes, I just finished eating my döner salad bowl 10 minutes ago.Yes, I did just walk 6 blocks each way in the rain in hopes of eating a Turkish-German street food. And it was 100% worth it!You choose the style you want your döner, then you chose the toppings and sauce. (I get mine without tomato and cucumber, with feta....which costs extra, but if I recall, in Germany they charge extra for cheese too...AUTHENTIC :-P lol)I got the salad version, and for $7.50 I am more than satisfied with the amount of food I got and how it tasted! It was all worth it, and I intend to keep social-media-stalking them to find where they are at each day.And I promise next time I will order all auf Deutsch! More...
Just so good. Reminds me of the street food in Hamburg.

Found this food truck a couple weeks ago loved the food.
I haven't had good döner since I was last in Germany in 2007.These guys are doing it right. I had the Döner Bomb which came with a small handful of fries and their veggies (you can choose, I had them all) along with their tzatziki and chili sauce. The chili sauce is spot on to the ubiquitous sauce on döner's in Berlin, and the tzatziki had just the right amount of tang to creaminess ratio. The döner was cooked well, crispy and still soft and not dry. To often the döner in the states is dried out because of overcooking or sitting under a salamander/heater for too long. I can't wait to come back and try their currywurst and bratwurst. I hope other Louisvillians appreciate what these guys are doing. If they start serving shwarma and/or iskender I'll probably upgrade my rating to 5-stars. More...
Best Doner I've ever had outside of Germany! So delicious!
