Super helpful staff, great plants, and the delivery save my bacon! Thank you guys!

Saw their sign for Christmas trees and decided to check them out! We are new to the area. Loved the attention we got from the employees. They were very attentive and made sure we found the perfect tree for our new home! They also delivered our tree in less than an hour for no extra charge!! They provided free tree preserver to help it stay green and fresh longer. The wonderful gentlemen that delivered our tree put it in the tree stand and offered to bring it in for us! We weren’t quite ready for it to come in so declined that offer. I highly recommend Gardensphere, and will shop there again! Oh, we also found the perfect deep red poinsettia to complete our decorations! More...
the nicest staff. I always get my Xmas tree here because they deliver at no charge, set it up in your stand (if you don't have a stand you can borrow one of theirs); after Xmas, they will collect your tree and dispose of it for a nominal fee! puts me in the holiday spirit every year!❤ More...

Easiest Christmas Tree experience ever.
Great plants and excellent service!
Bought my first indoor plant here 3 or 4 weeks ago and it's doing very well. I believe the prices are fair and the indoor plant selection is better than some larger nursery's I've been to. Not to mention the selection of pottery for indoor plants a generous one. More...
Always an interesting and beautiful selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Very knowedgeable staff eager to give advice. I have purchased some of my very favorite houseplants from Gabe and Travis. I love supporting this unique Tacoma business! More...
Audra is amazing. Sent on a mission from my boss to find an indoor plant for this huge oversized pot by their front door. Been an outside gardener most of my life from North Dakota . Who knew that indoor plant roots like it a bit more cozier. Excellent customer service. Walked out with a beautiful peace plant, advice, repotted, packing peanuts and a bit of moss. Happy happy customer. More...
This place is an instant favorite. They've got a huge variety of plants, a wall of soil and other supplies, planters and birdseed, all to the tune of background 80's music. I came in for a bag of soil for my snake plant and they kindly re-potted her for me! Meeting Thomas, the store's cat, was the icing on the cake. Definitely planning on coming back here. More...
Gardensphere could hold seminars for other businesses on how to provide exemplary customer service. Travis, Audrey, Gabe, Matt, Joseph and company are all friendly, caring, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative and helpful. You can feel the love, seriously. Plant selection is high quality, reliable and fabulous. Prices are reasonable. My favorite nursery by a long shot. Highly recommend. More...
I buy many plants here. very helpful and polite staff. My favorite local garden shop.
Our new go-to for all plant/yard related purchases. I emailed them asking if they carried a product, and they not only responded via email saying that they did and could order more to get my goal, but walked me through the best options given our goal (hedge height for privacy). Beyond email, when we visited Gardensphere or have talked to them on the phone, they have been nothing but helpful. They even delivered and placed 10 hedge plants for us. I would suggest you support this wonderful business - you will leave with a smile on your face, a bit more plant knowledge and a beautiful addition to your yard. More...
I absolutely love this shop. Since I found it I can't seem to go more than one week without purchasing a plant and pot from the shop. I love the selection they have just the stuff I'm looking for usually pothos or philodendron and Calatheas. I love the fact that they have all sorts of other stuff as well like all different types of soils fertilizers spray bottles and any other little things that you would need for your gardening needs. They are very helpful and nice every time I come in. I also like the fact that if they don't have something I'm looking for they can order it in for me and they're always happy to do so. Highly recommend them. More...
What an amazing store. Was recommended by a local 'outdoor plant' store, because we wanted an inside plant. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They replanted our plants in the pots we purchased for free, and they looked awesome. More...

I can't believe I forgot about this place and have NEVER been!!! Bye,bye to commercial gardens please and thank you!On my quest for all things potable, well it was a house warming gift that brought me here after yelping and not wanting to drive across town. I of course ended up buying a couple things for the house:)Great selection and amazing customer service, can't wait to go back! More...
They did an excellent job of helping me plant my Japanese Maple!
Excelente sitio donde encontrarás plantas ornamentales, semillas instrumentos de atención al jardín, todos los materiales que necesitamos para una buena atención al jardín
Super cute place with lots of plants indoor and outdoor. A little bit pricey for some smaller indoor plants (like $15 for a small indoor fizzle sizzle plant) and an even smaller version was still $8. Not alot of options for indoor pots but lots of selections for just plants. They even have a cat named Thomas who's very cute and tolerates pets on the head. Overall would probably go back with a larger budget in mind. More...
The best customer service and the greatest communicators about my gigantic plant orders! I couldn't have my immaculate garden or landscaping without Gardensphere.
Great little nursery! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you!!
This place is amazing. I stop by nearly weekly to get all kinds of things, and am always impressed by the super helpful staff. Everyone clearly loves talking about plants and is always great to talk to. They also very helpfully deliver the 2 cubic feet soil bags if you can't fit enough in your car. They're all wonderful, especially Audra, who's super knowledgeable and professional. Thanks, Gardensphere! More...
knowledge staff and they have a great variety of plants. I found my new nursery.
Always such a fun and welcoming experience! Beautiful selection, amazing customer service and knowledgeable staff. A favorite!
We love garden Sphere. They spend the time to help solve any garden problems, get you started, and find the best products. On top of being our favorite garden shop they have supported many community projects and events with the schools I work at. My pottery classes at Franklin Pierce High school, serving a very low-income population created planters this Spring to represent something they want to grow more of in their life. Garden Sphere generously donated 40 succulents so the students could plat something in the pots they created. Their love for what they do goes far beyond their storefront. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and giving. More...

I honestly can't recommend these guys enough! They were knowledgeable and eager to help, had a good selection of different pots and succulents (and other plants but I was there for the succulents). They also have air plants, various gardening supplies, some limited farm and feed supplies, and a giant store tabby cat! :) They answered every question I had and even potted my plants for me so I didn't have to buy two bags of specialty soul at no cost! Parking was a cinch. Check this place out! More...

This is one of my toddlers favorite places to go.
great staff and beautiful plants
Incredibly helpful. Pricing is generally a little steep. However today when there was an air plant in stand that I thought was priced as a group they told me the price was just for the stand, but they were nice enough to just charge me for the stand. In the sceme of things what's $2 but hey it made me satisfied. More...

I wish I could give 6 stars! Today was my first time in, and between the selection, quality, prices and customer service, I am now a forever customer. Travis and his coworker were so intelligent and helpful, not to mention kind as ever. They went above and beyond to help I.D. a succulent for me and offered to pot my plants that I purchased so that I didn't have to fuss with it at home. Also Thomas the cat was such a doll and a delight to see and give pets to. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. I can't wait until spring time rolls around to see what darlings they get in! Very knowledgeable staff and great selection for such a small store. I came in and said I wanted a dogwood. I have been shopping here for at least seven years and can honestly say that this place is one of the finest retail stores of any kind in Tacoma! Travis & Gabe (the owners) are outstanding and give back to our community in so many ways and do way more than just give the hype of local flavor. They were doing it before it was a thing and bring old school customer service to all who come in. They and their staff have a great knowledge of gardening and are so very approachable and honest. Absolutely love coming here to shop! More...

Travis and the staff are pleasant, they listen and are eager to serve. I'll pay the generosity forward Travis. Thank you.
These guys are the best! What a great resource for Tacoma! Great prices, nice selection and friendly staff. Will always come here first!
Lovely part of the neighborhood...besides having great prices on in-season plantings all year long, the myriad of urban chicks is always cause to drop by for hostas in the spring and sunflowers in the summer. From seeds to feeds and an ever beautiful assortment of plantings, all things flora, fauna and foul abound. More...
After a bad experience at a bigger nursery, I returned to Gardensphere (they're in my neighborhood) and couldn't be happier. I wish I had gotten the names of the people who helped me, but they were all terrific! As a novice (okay, reluctant) gardener, I had a lot of questions about some trees I wanted to plant, and the guy I spoke with took lots of time and was very patient and informative as I made my selection. He even walked me through the process of clearing the location for my trees using the 811 service. They showed up to plant my trees (SO worth it!) right on time, and the guy was cheerful and helpful (even moved some heavy planters for me!) despite the cold, pelting rain. And while I was quoted a planting price of $75/tree (which was worth it for me), he planted both trees quickly enough that it was $75 for both. AND they came back out and staked my trees when a windstorm was predicted. Super friendly and helpful all around! More...
I had to get hay for my chickens, not realizing it was do big and wouldn't fit in my car. Ill take it to your house, says the gentleman next to me. Great staff. Great quality and selection. Hidden gem in Tacoma.
Simply the best, most creative, caring garden center in the North end of Tacoma! I'm so glad they are my neighbors!
A great nursery with a wide variety of plants and seed. I had no problem finding what I was looking for. Customer service was OK, no one went out of their way to ask if I needed assistance or found what I was looking for or even said have a good day after completing a purchase . Besides that , I found everything I needed very easily and was happy with my purchase . More...
I bought my chicks here 2 years ago and they are big beautiful young ladies now. I buy their feed here too, Scratch and Peck. They are all really good layers. Yesterday I bought 3 fruit trees. The staff has always been very helpful and knowledgeable, and Thomas is always friendly, if he's not sleeping. Love this place! :) More...

This is the place to go to if you have questions about your plants or want to choose some for your home. I've been to other stores before to ask something and they weren't sure how to answer. Talk about customer service. I signed up to Yelp just to post this review, so great is the customer service at GardenSphere. We bought a large quantity of plants from the store three years ago and had an outside agency plant them. But, sadly, they wouldn't take in our poor soil. We lost about half the first year. In came Travis and Gabe from GardenSphere to replace the plants, including doing the labor, for no charge. The following year, we lost the other half of the original plants and most of the new ones. Travis and Gabe again to the rescue! They've consulted with us, tested soil, done site visits and together determined a new course of action, which we are about to take. As I said earlier, we are three years into this project. The warranty on the plants was one year, but GardenSphere didn't care. They still have our backs and are taking care of our situation until we are satisfied. "If it takes a decade, we'll get it right," Travis said during today's site visit. I believe him. I might be an old man screaming at kids to get off my yard by the time I get my plants the way I want them to be, but I know with GardenSphere I'm going to get the damn things! Soil be damned, too! If all businesses were like GardenSphere, the world would be a better place. More...
We've had the best service here and won't go anywhere else!! Friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff. I go in and ask a million questions regarding how to care for my plants, what plants will work best in our yard, etc. and they patiently answer each and every question. What I like best about this place, is that they will make recommendations and happily order plants for you. The box stores do have more in stock, but they know very little about where and how to plant. I prefer to wait a week or 2 knowing I'm getting the right plant @ the right price. They are usually lower in price than other local nurseries and about the same as Home Depot or Lowes. Highly recommend! More...
Gardensphere is our favorite garden shop in Tacoma. The owners are very nice, helpful, and super knowledgeable! We had a garden plan done a few years ago (by one of the owners) and everything he recommended has grown in nicely and lasted. The hanging basket selection is extraordinary. Indoors there is a fun garden shop -- you will find perfect garden treats for yourself or a gift for someone. I highly recommend checking out Gardensphere! Enjoy! More...
I love Gardensphere! The guys are so helpful. And they have good stuff!
Love these guys. Never buying a Christmas tree anywhere else. Free delivery and they even set it up for you.

Terrific knowledge of plants and how to nurture them. I drive from Seattle for their expertise and quality products.
I have been going here for chicks, chicken food, and my garden needs. I think they are awesome, friendly and helpful.
I've been coming to GardenSphere for the last 3 years; ever since we moved into the area. Because of them, our garden gets better and better each year! Very knowledge staff who always takes the time to answer all of my questions; even when they are busy. They also sell baby chicks and all the stuff to go with them! I had a chance to stop by on my lunch break this last Thursday and noticed something pretty cool. They have an older woman who I believe has a disability working in the shop. She was with her helper when I came in and was putting price tags on plants. The GardenSphere staff was interacting with her and making her laugh. It was pretty awesome to see. Love small business and love them even more when they show they care. Shop here. You won't be disappointed! More...

Thinking of cutting down your own Christmas tree this year? This place should make you think twice. We went to Gardensphere at 6 PM this evening to pick out our tree. By 7 PM, our gorgeous 7-foot noble fir was delivered to our home, given a fresh cut at the base, and centered and leveled in its stand. Gardensphere gets 5 stars: high-quality trees, friendly customer service, locally-owned, fast and free delivery, and their chilled out cat Thomas who sleeps in a cardboard plant tray on the front counter. For the win. But no really, if you want to catch a cold out in the Pacific Northwest rain at a tree farm cutting down your ol' Charlie Brown, covering your hands and car in pitch, and paying the same amount for your tree as we did, then go for it. We'll be here sipping hot cocoa in our pajamas. More...
This place exemplified customer service at its best. My wife and I were late getting out in the day to get our Christmas tree, so instead of making it out to a farm, we stopped here. We drove 20 mins out of our way because we didn't know of tree stands nearby, and I'm glad we did! At first they seem small without a huge selection of trees. But they have a huge stack of them out back all netted up that they will cut open and show you. I believe they have four types of trees, as well as a big selection of wreaths and mistletoe. We are really picky, and took our time looking at every tree up front, before deciding on the first Fraser fir they cut open from the back. To top it off, they delivered our tree for free at the time we requested so that we were able to go out hunting for a tree topper. We gave our address and number, along with a time of delivery. They called when they were 20 minutes out to let us know. They then brought the tree upstairs inside and started to set it in our stand. The tree was a little too big for our stand, so they grabbed one from their truck and set it all up for free! Those bigger stands will cost you a few bucks at any store, and for them to offer free delivery, set up and the stand was like getting the tree for free! We tipped them, and as soon as they left I wished I had tipped them more, they deserve it! More...
We love getting our Christmas trees here- they deliver and set up - it is really wonderful!

I just had a really good experience here. I know absolutely nothing about plants other than the fact that in my care they die. Except for the one potted plant I had in college that I actually got to thrive but then my cat ate it. And that sums up my gardening abilities. However I recently bought a home and have two empty planter patches underneath my front windows that right now are growing weeds like there's no tomorrow. So in need of something more aesthetically pleasing that won't leave my neighbors feeling like they need to pity-weed my property (yes that has actually happened once) I head off to Gardensphere.Upon arrival I was promptly greeted, offered assistance, and then asked relevant questions about the space I want to plant in, how much sun it gets, what I'm looking for, etc. I was shown around the outside area, which was small but packed with lots of varieties of green growing things. The employee was very knowledgeable about the many different plants he showed me that would have fit my needs. I finally settled on two Mexican orange plants at $22 apiece and some weed barrier. Lots and lots of weed barrier. Thanks Gardensphere!! More...

Love this place! Knowledgeable and friendly.
I recently moved back to Tacoma after being gone for 40 years. The house I am renting has had no yard upkeep for a very long time so when I got here last summer I pretty much had to take everything back to bare beds. The rockery was so overgrown with Ivy you couldn't even see the rocks. There is a ground cover that I left and now it is blooking and I could not remember what it was. I took a leaf and flower into Gardenspere and of course they identified it immediately and even ordered some more. I then took a look around. They have a very large variety of plants, shrubs and trees and the best part is they are VERY reasonable in their prices. I was surprised, thinking that they would be pricey being a smaller "boutique" nursery. They have lots of parking and very helpful people working there. More...
2nd year in a row getting our Christmas tree from Gardensphere and getting it delivered. Could not be any better or easier!
We used to live down the street from this shop, and it was always our first stop for garden supplies. What I like most is that they carry a different selection of tools than the big stores, and I think their prices are comparable. They have a great selection of small shrubs and flowers, but not much in the way of larger trees (which was what I was looking for on my last visit, sadly). The people who work there are very helpful and friendly. Once, when I was looking to buy a bucket for putting weeds and whatnot into, they just gave me an old feed bucket to save me a few bucks. Right then and there they made me into a repeat customer. Even though it's no longer down the street, we still stop by to get what we need. More...

Went in with my list of things I needed. one item was not on it. Thomas ( I believe that was his name) let me know exactly what I needed to know and took a minute to search for a supplier for what they didn't carry. I learned some new information about raspberry bushes and strawberries and from the info i already know i gathered that he knew what he was talking about. It was easy, quick and convenient. We are moving to the neighborhood in April and will definitely come here for all of my gardening needs. By the way, Cool cat. More...

I just got my first house, and am looking to start up a pepper garden to make my own homemade salsa, so I was looking for a garden store to give my business to. I came across Gardensphere on google and decided to give it a shot as I'd rather pay a little extra to help out a local business than save a few cents and go to a Fred Meyers or any store of that nature, and I am glad that I did. I am brand new to this kind of stuff, and have been e-mailing an employee of Gardensphere named Travis. He is SOOOO helpful! He has taken plenty of time out of his day to explain everything in detail to me to make sure that I am good to go. I finally was able to stop into the store earlier today to pickup some seeds. The store is beautifully setup. As I was waiting in line, I overheard the Gardensphere employee really taking his time with every single customer which is really refreshing in this day of age, not only answering the customers questions, but giving additional information that the customer didn't ask for just to make sure that they were fully informed. I got to the front counter and asked if his name was Travis, and sure enough, it was him! Travis deserves a raise! And they definitely have a repeat customer in me. More...
I leave Gardensphere every time I go with a smile. Just picked up my Territorial seeds this morning. If they don't have the seeds you want in stock they will add them to their next seed order, and save you the cost of shipping! The service is always friendly and knowledgeable, try getting that at your local big box store. Keep your dollars in your community, and shop at Gardensphere. They are fabulous! More...
I love Gardensphere. They are inspiring and helpful. I went there when I first moved to Tacoma to find information on chickens. I was impressed with their knowledge and willingness to answer questions. They even have classes for prospective chicken owners! Recently I went in to ask questions about fruit trees that I want to plant in my garden. They were very helpful and even answered some questions that I didn't think to ask. This is a wonderful, local store and I would highly recommend it to anyone. More...
Whether they are advising you on a gardening question, helping you with products for you urban chicken flock, or delivering your Christmas tree it's always done professionally and with a smile. They have gone above and beyond more than once for me. Even better, they want to share their knowledge with their customers so every endeavor is successful. We are very fortunate to have a business of this caliber in Tacoma. More...
Amazing service! When they first opened, we bought a few seeds. Then, we asked about shade plants ... and how to reseed our law in the spring. Then Travis helped us remove some trees from our yard. He came out, saw what we wanted to do, and then gave us referral to an excellent tree service. That winter, Gabe delivered our Christmas tree. And set it up, and that happened for many years until, due to allergies, we needed to go artificial. And we bought chickens. Not too long ago, we were out of town and our chicken sitter ran out of feed. One call and they delivered the feed to our house. At some point in there, they hired Lisa, the amazing-do-it-all-for-you-with-a-smile person who runs the place when Travis and Gabe aren't around. Wow. What a team! I refer anyone in the area to them in a heartbeat for gardening stuff. More...
We got our 5 chicks from Gardensphere. The people are wonderfully kind and helpful. Also, they know their apples from oranges.
I wish I'd discovered this place a long time ago I would have saved so much money by not planting the wrong plants in the wrong place that would then "fail to thrive" These guys really know what they are talking about and are passionate about gardening! Love that kind of enthusiasm! I'd rather pay just a little more and know that the plants are healthy and planted in the right place. They also have lots of gifty items. Charming place!!! More...
I will fully agree with Sarah's review. These guys are just awesome! You get true personal, conversational advice and service. They are so passionate about what they do and eager to help out, even if you are a rank beginner (which I was when I started going here). Yeah, their prices are 10 - 15% higher than the "box stores", but the quality and service fully make up for the slightly higher prices. I prefer to support the "little guys". I would also add that their shop is ALWAYS neat, cozy, and "season appropriate". I buy as much garden stuff here as I can. More...
I have never been able to keep a plant alive. Then I started going to Gardensphere. These people are amazing. The helped me get everything I needed for raised bed vegetable gardening and helped me choose products that were both sustainable and organic. They encouraged me to call from home whenever I had questions or problems and have answered my many questions without complaint. Travis seems to know everything about local plants and local pests. Some people say the prices are on the high side, but I bought starts from both Gardensphere and another local garden shop, and am amazed at how much healthier the plants I bought form Gardensphere are. This place is small, but they are kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. More...
