Katie recently did my hair and makeup and took head shots of me for my wedding invitation business. She was extremely professional, you could tell she has been in this business for years. She got the job done fast and I felt very confident she knew what she was doing. When I received the photos I was soooo happy with the results, and I can't wait to update my website and social media. I also had 2 wardrobe changes, so I feel I will be able to use these photos for years. Don't hesitate to book Katie if you need to look great for your business!

I had Cotton Rouge do my makeup for prom. I heard about them from my friend who was also getting her makeup done for prom there. I went to Cotton Rouge because I believed that they were professional, well-trained makeup artists with the right skill level to make my makeup look amazing and stay all night. This was a huge mistake. My clown makeup was definitely not worth the 80$(including the 20$ deposit).

The lady was very nice but she was not a professional makeup artist. When the tinted primer was being applied the brush went into my eye multiple times and it wasn't very blended. She picked out a foundation that she thought matched my skin tone but it was a shade or 2 too light. Since she didnt set the foundation, the contour, if you can even call a straight brown line on my cheek contour, was stuck to the wet spots that hadn't dried yet and became more pigmented and darker. The blush was very splotchy and was bright pink in some places and nonexistent in others. When she started on my eyes she didn't use any matte shadows to help build dimension in the eye and only used shimmer for it all. The gold-ish color on the lid was gone in about 5 min and the crease color(a shimmery bronze) was not blended at all. On my right eye there was a crescent moon shape on the edge where the shadow had not been blended and on the left there was a very harsh line. The liner that she applied was a black eyeshadow but it was not a sharp line and was uneven(the 2 liners didn't look the same). Under the eye she wanted to put "a pop of color" but it was just a straight unblended line of bright pink(which didn't go with my dress at all even when she knew what it looked like). When putting the lashes on she poked me in the eye a few times and the lashes still weren't applied very well and began to peel off as soon as I had gotten back in my car. Seeing as that she didn't set the face w/ anything it was an oily wet mess that she then took a large powder brush and dipped it in highlighter and proceeded to put it basically all over my face. The lipstick that she picked out was the worst part. As i said before she knew what my dress looked like so she should have known what colors would look good with it and what colors would look good with my skin tone but that was not the case. She picked out a neon pink lip stick for my medium skin tone and a white a gold dress! When she started to apply it i looked in the mirror and was instantly shocked. After all of this was over I had to rush home and spend 20 min trying to correct and blend everything together so I wouldn't look like I was wearing clown makeup to prom.

My friend had a similar experience at Cotton Rouge with a different makeup artist. The blush was in a bright pink circle on her cheek and the liner was crooked and wavy.

Katie is the absolute best at what she does! She did my hair and make up for my wedding as well as hair and make up for several of my bridesmaids. She is so easy to work with and is always responsive to emails and questions! During my trial, she took my vague description of what I had in mind for my hair and created that and more! It was stunning! Getting married in August, I was worried about how well my makeup would hold up in the heat and humidity. With her beautiful airbrush makeup, I never touched it or had to worry about it at all throughout the day. It looked just as perfect when I took it off after midnight as it did when she put it on at 7:00am that morning. What a relief that was! Katie truly made me feel like the most beautiful bride and my now husband raved about how beautiful and natural my makeup looked. Having her come to my house the morning of made things so much more relaxed as well! If you are looking for hair and makeup for your special occasion- look no further!
