We held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Chez Melange and had a wonderful experience. My parents and family have been coming here for years, and Michael and the team really took care of us. We used the beautiful private room the restaurant offers for around 30 people, and it worked perfectly. Michael worked with us to put together a great selection of food that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. This is one of my favorite restaurants!  I love the fact that you have multiple options for dining, Bouzy's Gastropub and Sea Change in addition to Chez Melange all under one roof!  The food is always delicious with regular menu items and new items daily. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.  They also have a great happy hour at Bouzy's, the Monday night $5.00 burger is to die for!  Can't say enough good things, try it for yourself! Hmmm lets, say it this way... impressive service, not because it super-fast but because I felt entertain with the crews, they very happy people like they are just having fun while serving the people that comes in and out. On my part, I was serve well, thought the a little waiting time yet I was contented with my food specially the scallop crudo and the langostinos, thought the foods are just the typical ones and nothing really special yet I still love the place due to a good service. Celebrating our Anniversary and the wife wanted to try someplace new, and a co-worker suggested Chez Mélange, upon arriving at the restaurant it looked a little crowded however, looks can be deceiving, in the front it looks like a small bar with some tables but when Michael whom we later discovered was the owner lead us to the back you have a very nice dining area away from the noise of the bar. We were seated right away and our waiter Gary dropped off the menus and got us some water. it was a Tuesday night and while they were not packed they were busy.We started with a dozen oysters, and some drinks, moved on to the entrees, wife had the pork chop and I had the scallops.Pork chop was perfectly cooked, nice and moist with great flavor, very generous portion size. Scallops were also perfectly cooked, came with Bacon, Cheddar mashed potatoes and spinach, great combination and more than filling. Michael came over to check on us and asked how the meal was, when my wife mentioned it was our anniversary he had Gary bring us out the salted caramel dessert which was delicious, we had also ordered the poached pear shortcake which was also delicious.It's a small restaurant, not small enough to feel confined and the center of attention, but small enough so that the staff can spend the time they need with the guests and make sure everyone is happy, kind of sorry we had not tried them before, so we will need to go back and give some of their other dishes a try. This is my favorite restaurant in the South Bay. My husband and eat there at least 2 times a week. Michael Franks is the most renowned South Bay restaurant owner.  Robert Bell can do no wrong as a chef there is nothing but delicious cuisine.We go to Bouzy for Monday $5 Burger, yum. Taco Tuesday double yum. Sea Change for a special night. Service is outstanding. We are greeted by name. My husband and I ate at Sea change last night and enjoyed another perfect meal. With excellent fresh sea food, great service, reasonable prices, and a good ambiance, Sea Change remains one of the best restaurants in the area.  With a lovely champagne cocktail to start, followed by the Pacific Rim Tostadas, which were perfect for sharing, the Chilean Sea bass for me, and the Portuguese Seafood stew for my husband, and finishing with a delicious Peach Tarte Tartin, we went home happy.  If you are an oyster lover, this is the place for you. Love coming here , the food is good , bartenders make awesome drinks , the staff is wonderful - only problem is the owner who seems to be delightful has a person vendetta against those who are allergic to   -mayonnaise- ask for it to be removed from your meal , get ready to be charged $3+ for your meal - and everything on the menu some nights seems to include it - limiting the menu.  It's not like I'm vegan . Consistently the best meal in town. Although most all the dishes are unique and delicious, I believe the move to Sea Change was a smart one. Like many, I prefer to order seafood in good restaurants where it is sourced reliably, is fresh and they know how to prepare it. Even I can throw a chicken in the oven but would rather leave fish in the hands of a real chef. This visit, I had the ocean trout. Cooked perfectly, great sauce and a imaginative side dish that included chanterelle mushrooms, english peas and a small type of pasta. Every single bite was expertly prepared, portioned and plated beautifully and was incredibly delicious. No plate fillers here (think some kind of mashed potatoes and limp asparagus).We had a sparkling Sauvignon Blanc that was a first for me and was really enjoyable. The wine list is extensive and has been creatively curated to include many bottles you are not going to find in local wine shops. Desert was their amazing key lime pie, which I have had before and was great. I will not eat desert in a restaurant that does not have a pastry chef. Very good dinner. We only had two dishes but both were prepared perfectly. The seafood in the linguine dish was not over cooked at all as it so often is, and the sea bass was moist inside with a nice sear outside. Great Easter Brunch!  We enjoyed a delicious brunch today.  My daughter  and I had an egg dish of scrambled eggs, carmelized onions, olive bread crumbs and a couple other things.  It was fantastic!  My son enjoyed the chicken nuggets and french toast.  Also, tasty.  The service was perfect.  Any time we needed something, they were there to give it to us.  We'll definitely go back for brunch and look forward to trying it for dinner some time. A perfect meal of small plates!  We usually sit at the bar in Bouzy, it's easy, and always good.  This time, we specifically wanted seafood and it had been some time since we've dined in the main room so we decided on  Sea Change.  It was early in the week, the dining room was relatively quiet (something we needed that day) the servers were on top of it and the meal was perfect!We enjoyed oysters two ways, fresh on the half shell and baked with Parmesan and garlic, OMG!!  The baked only came three to a plate, I could've eaten 3 dozen myself!!  We also enjoyed chicken pâté, New Orleans style BBQ shrimp and grits, and Brussels sprouts.  Oh and how could I forget, my fav...crab claws!  There were some main entrees that I really wanted to try out but we filled up before we could get there in the menus, guess we'll start there next time.  Thank you Chez Melange for consistently having delicious food and offering a pleasant experience! This is my favorite place bar none.Lisa and Michael are amazing owners and their whole staff match their rhythm and service. To begin, the food is amazing! (Thank you Robert and chefs)And on today's menu for the vegetarians out there:- Buffalo Cauliflower Dip!!! - And also: Roasted Garlic Potatoes, - Crispy Brussel Sprouts!!!I'd not go to another place when they at least have one of these on most days!!!!Second, they ALWAYS keep my water full!Third and most impressive, they print a new menu every single day!!! I had dinner with some friends tonight and we had a very nice dining experience. There was a large pharmaceutical private dinner in a separate room and we didn't notice any noise. We were in the main dining room which is on the smaller size but spaced nicely so you can enjoy conversations without losing privacy. The service was excellent along with the friendly ambience. We all commented about the warm fresh bread and home made red sauce for dipping but no double dipping. Everyone ordered fish and I had the sole which was outstanding. My friends raved about the halibut and sea bass. We shared French fries that were excellent. The waiter suggested a meritage red wine that everyone enjoyed. We all had dessert and I liked the budino.We had a nice time and on the way out we noticed they had live music in their bar which looked nice.I would recommend this restaurant for excellent food, service and fair prices. Saturday night dinner out, wanted to try this place after riding by it a million times on my bike. Really cool place, very nice staff, good food selection, lots of drinks and appetizers to choose from. I like how they have separate rooms for different dining experiences.  Oyster bar, regular seating, main dining room with live music. We started of the dinner with a stop at the oyster bar for drinks and some calamari. Service was great, drinks were good, food was good. then moved to the main room for dinner and more drinks. Service was great, food was good and the music was great. we had a great time, very cool place. Food we tried, calamari, cauliflower bits, fried pickles and we both had the Ahi tuna burger. all the food was good, i would get all of it again. Cost for our night was around $100, for all of it. so normal for a seafood  pub with a few drinks.The menu was pretty big, lots to choose from, for sure we want to go back and try some other things. ☺️Went last night for their Valentines Dinner and it was spectacular! Although by the time of our 9pm reservation they were out of a few dishes, I ordered the scallops and potent which were melt in your mouth delicious and my husband ordered Venison in a cherry reduction which was divine! The service was delightful and Striker, our server, was very attentive and gave great suggestions! We also attended their mystery dinner a couple of weeks ago and the food was unique and spectacular that night as well. My son went to their bar a few nights ago and had delicious appetizers and enjoyed great live jazz! I would highly recommend this South Bay gem! More...

We hadn't been to Chez Melange for quite some time and decided to for Valentine's Day, which is an occasion on which I had long ago decided to skip restaurants. We were very pleasantly surprised. After being greeted by Lisa, and later by Michael, we were promptly seated and almost immediately attended to by our waiter, a most pleasant young man. Although a little loud, the ambience was most welcoming.For the occasion, a prix-fixed three course meal was offered. We had some good bread (and don't miss Lisa's truly famous dipping sauce) and I had an absolutely delicious glass of Malbec. My wife chose the "New Orleans BBQ shrimp," which was quite good, while I opted for the escargot, which was the most disappointing item we tried. Very bland and almost tasteless, even with the garlic butter. The butternut squash which accompanied it was excellent. For our main dish, my BW had the duck a l'orange-very tasty-and I picked the roasted venison loin, which was probably the best I've ever had, notwithstanding that I haven't had it very often. The side dishes, her wild rice with butternut squash and my faro with mushrooms, were equally good.Dessert for both of us was a chocolate hazelnut soufflé, which we enjoyed.All in all, a delightful experience and I have promised myself not to go so long without returning. Super welcoming hostess and waitress. I needed a serious espresso and it definitely did the job of waking me up!! Ordered smoked salmon egg white omelette. Salmon was over cooked  Potatoes were better.. Loud music playing like we are at a Five for Fighting concert.   Waitress turned it down a bit then these great jazz musicians started playing at 11 am. We didn't eat at Bouzy, but came for an after-dinner drink to listen to the musical entertainment that particular evening, guitarist and singer Brent and his accompaniment who played bass guitar. They were excellent and so was their repertoire! I had a glass of delicious Pinot noir from the Russian River Valley. My other companions had a variety of beer. The crowd was lively, and the seating is cozy inside, and also outside on a protected patio area with heaters. ...we love going to Chez Melange/Sea change on Christmas eve,(and most any other evening for that matter) it's almost like going home except with more choices. ..we arrived for our 6 pm reservation to a full dining room, lots of families and couples out to enjoy a wonderful holiday dinner and I'm sure they were not disappointed, we certainly were not. The menu was a 3 course prefix, reasonably priced, with several choices for each course, additionally you could order very fresh shellfish off their oyster bar menu. We took advantage of the oyster bar menu and ordered a half dozen fanny bay oysters to start, very fresh, nice size, a perfect start to our meal. For our starters (9 choices) we ordered an amazing clam chowder, loaded with clams, potatoes and oh so creamy, we also had the grilled octopus with chorizo served over corn studded mashed potatoes, yum. Our entrees (8 choices) consisted of a perfectly prepared fresh Chilean sea bass sauteed ala piccata with linguine, and magnificent plump fresh New England scallops over sweet potato mash..Both came to the table timely, at proper temperatures, served beautifully and delicious. For dessert we had one of our favorites the key lime tart and my new favorite, a chocolate tart, both served with fresh whipped creme. ..Of Course Santa and Mrs Claus were there overseeing the guests, making sure everyone's evening was filled with happiness,  the roles were played perfectly by owners Micheal and Lisa, and of course Santa's elves were there assisting and helping every guest celebrate the evening with joy, and wonderful service, parts played delightfully By Sarah, Gary and Sergio...and then out of the kitchen arose such a clatter, then red hatted chef /owner Robert magically appeared..wishing all his guests Merry Christmas and all a good night...yes it was a wonderful evening of dining, fun, great service, delicious food and fond memories, thank you to the entire team at Chez for making it such a special night. Cozy, local restaurant with that "local feel." Overall, food and service are very good. One of the owners, Michael, greets customers, makes them feel welcome, and occasionally delivers a dish. Nice touch. Had the Christmas Eve 3-course, price fixed, dinner last night. Atmosphere was excellent, especially after my  server dimmed the light in my corner (server offered) and turned up the music (critical for atmosphere, my request).  Wine corkage fee is one of the most reasonable I have seen for a nice restaurant. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Terranea Resort that was only about 15 minutes away. We figured that the resort restaurant would be too pricey so we decided to try this place. We are so glad we did. The reservation was for 8:00 and the kind english gentleman, Michael made us feel quite at home when we arrived. The front bar was cozy and when we sat he offered us  champagne! Wife liked that! We both enjoyed the Chilean sea bass and sword fish. The ambience and service was good.  The grilled Ono was cooked in nice sauce however it it had a dry texture.  I'm use to Ono that is soft and tender that I get in Hawaii.
