Beach Fitness has a commitment to excellence when you commit to excellence! Unparalleled trainers, great classes and instructors, great physical and massage therapists, nutrition, ELDOA. .. great commitment to you and your individual needs-for all ages- all levels of fitness-all skill sets- all individual needs. All the staff and management have and continue to seek advanced degrees and certifications- incredibly knowledgeable- many having their own specialties who want to share their knowledge. Mostly though, the staff and the clients share a zest and happiness that you will NEVER find at another gym. And NO, I DON'T WORK THERE OR HAVE ANY AFFILIATION. Just be ready to commit to making yourself stronger, faster, more limber, less pain/pain free, better nutrition, being feeling, walking, thinking, and sleeping better..... They've done all these things for me after I committed to helping yourself. More...

This place is amazing. I was looking for a new gym about 5 or 6 years ago when I got tired of the big box environment. What a difference this place makes! The classes are challenging and ever changing so there's always something to look forward to. The trainers are all excellent and know just the right time to push you even harder. The other RepX clients are very friendly, make me feel like part of the team and provide extra motivation to be in class every day!! More...

I've been working out and getting treatment at Beach Fitness for about eight years. I've primarily done personal training but have also done nutritional counseling, body work, and taken some group fitness classes. Beach Fitness' team has a higher level of continuing education and personal touch than what I've experienced at other fitness centers and that has made a big difference for me in the following areas:1. Through Barbara Lands' fitness coaching, I lost 25 pounds in 2013 and kept it off until a major surgery in early 2019. After the surgery, I gained 15 pounds and wasn't able to take it back off until Barbara re-motivated me and put me back on a different fitness plan.2. I used to have tremendously debilitating, intermittent lower back pain. Through my work with many different members of the Beach Fitness team, I haven't had a back pain episode in nearly a decade.3. I'm 45 and enjoy playing sports like softball, tennis, jogging, etc. I get injured less often and recover more quickly from minor injuries now than I did in my mid 30s.4. Overall, I just feel better and have more energy to enjoy life, stay active, perform well at work and keep up with my kids.thanks Beach Fitness for your important role in my life! More...

This place is the bestI am convinced that Bryce is saving my life. Being a professional athlete my whole life, accumulating injury after injury I was convinced that I was in a pattern of Chronic pain for the rest of my life. I had given up, after trying treatment after treatment and everything failing I wasn't convinced Eldoa would be the thing to turn it all around. With his magic hands, and insane ability to relate to an athletes pain, he has had huge breakthrough's with me. My shoulder pain is steadily improving, when clearly surgery was the only option. My neck pain and headaches are improving, and miraculously I am able to wean off medication. He has a way of keeping me in line, where I don't go out and ruin his work either!!! I will forever be in gratitude towards Bryce and his staff, they are saving my life. More...

If I could give more stars, I would!  I found out about BeachFit Moms through a friend, who couldn't stop raving about how great it was.  From the very first day, I felt welcomed.  The workouts are no joke but the support is genuine.  You will always be challenged but never overwhelmed.  I love that I can bring my kid(s) and my daughter often follows along with the workout.  Annika and her team truly care about helping you achieve your fitness goals and will always give you that extra push (but never in a way that feels like too much).  I have seen my strength and endurance improve significantly and I never got bored with these workouts.  I love the open gym classes they have now because I can come anytime between 9-11am and get through the workout at my own pace.  The other BeachFit Moms are equally awesome and we all help to empower each other.  You're in charge of watching your own kid(s) but in a room full of moms, your child always has an extra pair of eyes looking out for them.  It amazes but definitely doesn't surprise me how this concept works so beautifully:) More...

If you are looking for a community AND a gym to help you achieve your fitness goals, then this is the place. The trainers here are extremely knowledgeable. I don't even know where to begin, I wish I could give this place 20 stars!! Previously I had been able to lose 20 pounds but it took so much of my time and energy, I had zero clue how I was going to lose the 40 pounds I aimed to lose after making post pregnancy excuses for 15 months straight! Around February this year (2016) I began trying to lose the weight but other than the first 5 pounds, it just wasn't working. I tried several other gyms but literally nothing truly motivated me or felt it was worth my previous time away from work and my one year old. That is, until a coworker of mine took me to a trial class of REP-X in mid April....can you say BUTT KICKING any louder?!?! I think not! I was completely hooked! I couldn't do a full rep of literally anything for weeks but the burn, the sweat, the constant encouragement and the coaches pushing me to my limit was enough to get me to commit to 6 classes per week. My goal was to do that for the first 20 lbs but I haven't slowed down my 6 hour per week commitment and I am now down 45 pounds total! Heading into my second pregnancy (yes!!!) I am beyond determined to maintain my routine as long as I can. Once I am in the postpartum days I will be back to work it all off and never make another (ok well one or two here and there is ok!) excuse again! Why did this gym in particular work for me? I have one major reason: THE COACHES are the BEST out of anywhere I have trained. You can tell they whole heartedly care about everyone individually and the attention they pay you (even in a class of 15-20 people! though it is usually I'd say between 8-12 people) is unparalleled. They truly care about your form, they want you to do it right and create good habits. My favorite quote is "Move well" (Lester!). Short and sweet and helps me refocus on my movements instead of just moving to get it done! I could go on about each coach individually but this already essay would turn into a thesis! They are all soon well trained and they each put their own bit of personality into the classes which makes it fun no matter who is teaching that particular class! In addition to the coaches, I love the gym itself. It's not expansive but it is comfortable and it is the perfect size for the class sizes there. The equipment is top notch, rowing has become a new favorite calorie burner of mine (did I seriously just admit to liking a method of calorie burning If you know me, there are certainly pigs flying right now!) The staff keeps it VERY clean and cool, and they make amazing use of the space. For an extreme perspective, on several occasions I have taken the Beach Fit Moms classes and there are about 20 women with an average of 1-3 kids with EACH mom and it is totally possible to get a completely effective 60 minute work out done (Alex and the other coaches are GODs for being able to lead those classes!)I wish I could go on but I know, I've probably lost most readers by now. This place is absolutely incredible and I will continue to dedicate my 6 hours per week here for as long as I live in Southern California! I hope you give them a try and I hope to see you there!~*~*~*~*~*THERE IS NO BETTER DAY TO START THAN DAY ONE*~*~*~*~*~ More...

Great gym! First of all, you can't beat the price for what you're getting. The gym set up is nice and clean. The community is friendly and motivating. The staff and coaches are friendly and know their stuff. The only downside is that the cross fit classes aren't as competitive as I hoped. Don't get me wrong, they're great and challenging, but many of the members doing the classes seem to do it just to "feel" fit rather than improving. Overall, I would definitely recommend this gym for the price! More...

Beach fitness is a MUST while in Seal Beach. Beach Fit Moms is the place to get in shape if you can take a challenge, and some of their works involve running down to the beach to work in the sand with a beautiful view breathing that lovely ocean air. I've been going to Beach Fitness for about a year and I had major back issues before I started with them. Now after about a year I'm pain free and I've been able to throw my back brace away. You see I'm an avid Golfer which is very hard on your back, now I'm pain free and swinging a Golf club better than ever. Bryce and Alex at Beach Fitness have been amazing and without going to them I would have had to quit Golf. These guys are amazing! My wife also goes for her back and there has been no other fitness studio, chiropractor or doctor that has been able to help my wife like these guys have. So if you've been thinking about getting into shape you must call these guys and don't wait! You won't be sorry!Sincerely,R. S. R. More...

I LOVE Beach Fitness. I can't stop talking about this place. What I love most about Beach is that they offer a variety of classes. It's not just Crossfit. They offer conditioning classes like Rep-x and Strength and Conditioning. These classes will get your heart rate up and help build muscle without lifting heavy weights.  You do things like squats, push-ups, lunges, etc.  They offer personal training, yoga, and even a beach bootcamp on Saturdays. There are classes for mom's only where mothers who are expecting and/or with little ones take classes together. You are constantly being challenged here. There so much variety that you NEVER get bored. The people who work at Beach and/or takes classes are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Newbies are immediately welcomed and encouraged throughout the workout by both the safe and other clients. The staff ALWAYS goes over and beyond the call of duty. The coaches are encouraging and supportive. There have been several times when I've gone into a class feeling sore and it never fails, a coach will suggest modifications and suggest movements that I can do to relieve some of the soreness. Beach fitness really feels like a family. This is one of the reasons why I decided to sign up. Since signing up, my daughter has joined, her boyfriend has joined, and a friend has joined. They've fallen in love with this place, too! :) If you aren't sure you want to commit, you can always sign up for their anchor program which offers you 3 personal trainings and 2 weeks unlimited. I did this before deciding to commit. It was great because the coaches worked with me on form/technique for movements that you may see in a class, particularly a Crossfit class. It also allowed me two full weeks to take all of the classes to ensure that I wanted to make the commitment. This is a place you have to check out. More...

I was really nervous about visiting a CrossFit gym because 1) strength training is not my fitness forté, 2) there is definitely a stigma which surrounds CrossFit-ers. Despite this, I wanted to challenge myself and try something new. I am so happy that I decided to do this at CrossFit Seal Beach! My first class was the Rep-X class led by Lester and it was GREAT. He explained the exercises well, took the time to correct my form when needed, and sufficiently kicked my butt. Others in the class were very friendly and welcoming. I left the class very sweaty and excited to return. I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a high intensity strength + cardio class. All of the exercises can be modified for those newer to working out or made more difficult for those who want to go hard.I tried the actual CrossFit class on Wednesday and though it was certainly different from the Rep-X class and from anything I've done before, I liked it. Anthony led the CF class and was also very thorough in explaining the exercises and reasoning behind them. The class started out with some slower paced strength/heavy lifting exercises (max rep type stuff), followed by the Workout of the Day (WOD). I liked that this class was self-paced, so again it is manageable by newbies and CF veterans. The WOD was followed by some mobility exercises. I purchased the 10-pack, so I plan on taking a few more Rep-X and CrossFit classes before committing to a monthly unlimited membership. I will say upfront that this gym is very expensive. It is a very clean facility, not too packed with people, and from what I can tell so far, offers great workout classes, so the price may be just right. I guess I'll know after 9 more classes! This review is LONG overdue!!  Before today, I've never written a review on Yelp, even though I use others' reviews all the time.  I LOVE coming to Beach Fitness and want to be sure I share this with others and share my appreciation for the Beach Fitness family.I have so many great things to say, I honestly don't know where to start!  We moved from Seattle to Huntington Beach in Aug 2014.  We wanted to find a small/personal gym and did a lot of research on YELP and Facebook and ultimately decided to try Beach Fitness.  From the first class we attended, everyone started learning our names.  The trainers introduced us to the other class members, had everyone give us high fives, learned about our lives, and immediately made us feel welcome.  Within a short period of time, we had friends in a city where we knew only co-workers, thanks for Beach Fitness and the sense of community they foster with their members.Bryce and Barb, the owners, are amazing.  They have lots of knowledge, are always in the gym, and always accessible to chat about whatever topic may be on your mind - sore muscles, nutrition, old school rap, you name it!  They both teach great classes, do personal training, host challenges, and run a great business. All of the trainers/coaches are also knowledgeable and fun.  My experience has been 100% opposite of the last review.  I've had a lot of coaching on how to properly stretch, lift correctly, and use proper posture.  The trainers are always monitoring and correcting to ensure no one is hurt and we learn proper form.  Classes are fun... and hard!  Sometimes we do individual workouts and sometimes as a team, but always hard and you never leave feeling that you didn't get a great workout!  My Fiance and I normally do the RepX and Bootcamp classes, and have done Crossfit once.  We like them all!Now for the other gym members... they're amazing!  Everyone at Beach Fitness is excited to be at the gym, spends time getting to know one another, has fun being on each other's teams and friendly competition, visits after class, and form friendships.  It makes coming to the gym a time to see friends and it's a wonderful aspect of being part of the Beach Fitness community.I could probably write another 5 pages on how much we enjoy and appreciate finding this gym and I would recommend it to anyone!  If you're looking for a new gym and some new friends, then definitely come check out Beach Fitness!  We'll all be excited to meet you! How loudly can I shout my praises for Beach Fitness?  Not loudly enough!  I have been working with Bryce Turner for about a year now, two one-hour sessions per week, originally because I was having shoulder problems and now because it is too good to quit.  Bryce is just incredibly knowledgeable of all aspects of your physical well being -- he is a PhD without the degree, and he is constantly traveling to seminars and classes to enhance is already-encyclopedic knowledge.  He doesn't have any sort of set regimen for a personal training session -- he asks you a *lot* of questions and does extensive evaluation, so he can address exactly what *you* need.  This can range from deep tissue massage to crazy stretches to cardio to weights to balance and nutrition counseling...the experience is never the same no matter how many times you go.  And he is very passionate about nutrition so be prepared to answer a lot of questions about that ;-)A good friend of mine started seeing Bryce following a debilitating back problem, and Bryce worked miracles on him (along with Dr. Dan Herman, a Seal Beach chiropractor that Bryce recommended, and who is also a master of his trade) -- he praises Bryce more loudly than I do, if that's possible. My mom (87 years old) goes to Bryce twice a week and she has seen a transformation in her physical fitness.  At the same time, he has taught her things like *how to fall*, which she never would have thought to even ask about.  Bryce is looking at the big picture and your well-being, and tailoring every single workout to what will help you the most.Truly, I think he is a genius in his field, and just don't have the vocabulary to recommend him highly enough.I should also point out that I have a number of friends who also have personal trainers at Beach Fitness *other than* Bryce, and I have never heard any of them say anything other than how happy they are.  So it's not as if Bryce is the only one there who knows his stuff.  Everyone there, both staff and customers, is always very happy and friendly. I wanted to wait until I felt fully integrated into Crossfit classes prior to writing this review.  I am one of those people who tried Crossfit again, a bit reluctantly, after a horrible experience at another box in Orange County.  I wanted to like it, but I just didn't based on that experience.  I had worked out at Beach Fitness back in 2009 and really enjoyed the atmosphere and instructors.  I knew this would be the perfect place to try Crossfit again. After completing my On-Ramp Program with Marc and Helena, I felt comfortable with the movements and technique, but was still nervous about taking my first class; understanding the terminology, focusing on counting repetitions while under duress, learning Olympic-style lifting and just worried about not feeling that this type of workout would be for me.Two months later, I absolutely love Crossfit. The number one reason, by far, is the coaching.  Marc and Anthony (5:30 am!) are extremely knowledgeable and positive.  Their coaching has helped me improve my skill level by leaps and bounds in only a short while.  They give me the confidence to try skills that I never thought I could perform.  They always know just how to push you out of your comfort zone, which is one of the aspects of personal training that I crave.  An extra added bonus that I truly did not expect is the wonderful comradery that is developed with your classmates.  You toil together, celebrate together and cheer others on together.  My only regret is not coming to Crossfit Seal Beach sooner.  I highly recommend Crossfit Seal Beach! I've been a CFSB member for over a year now and I'm so so sad I'm moving #1 the people (including coaches) are now friends #2 I don't think other boxes or gyms can offer the same great experience.  I've lifted my entire life and been to numerous crossfit boxes and the Spectrum/Golds/Balleys/LA fitness/24hr gyms too.....this is hands down the best out there.  Great pricing too.  Classes are an hour.  The first 10 min of class is warm up, then instruction and technique for the upcoming 15 min of strength training then instruction and technique for the upcoming WOD then obviously DO the WOD.  Perfect balance for strength and metabolic conditioning. Ive seen classes range from just me to 15 people but avg 5-8. The trainers are passionate, technically sound and knowledgeable, and truly care about YOUR wellbeing.  The members here range from beginners to competitors of all age groups but it really doesn't matter as everyone is there to do what they can and improve themselves and encourage their friends around them.  No douchebaggery here.  Everyone is down earth and just good people with dynamic lives and other things to talk about besides crossfit (yes it exists).  If you already crossfit and are looking for a new home....go here and regardless of your skill level you will advance in strength, technique and conditioning while meeting some really cool people.   If you are new to crossfit, have preconceived notions of what crossfit is and are scared to give it a try because you think people will scream and laugh at you because you can't fly or shoot laser beams from your eyes....put those feelings and insecurities aside, go check it out and FINALLY get fit while having fun....or don't go and stay discontent wishing you were fit. This review is long overdue.. I've been at CFSB for about 6 months now and love every minute that I'm in that gym. It's honestly my favorite part of the day. I've lost over 30 lbs, gained muscle, and I'm stronger and fitter than ever. The coaches here are outstanding! They are very knowledgable about all the movements and will scale the workouts down to anyone's fitness level. They do a great job at teaching proper form so no one gets hurt and they will be quick to correct you if they notice something wrong with your technique. The community is very friendly and welcoming. Everybody cheers everybody on and we help motivate each other to get through the workouts and push ourselves to the next level. If you're new don't be afraid to drop-in. They also have a great anchor program that gives you one-on-one personal training on the basic movements to get you prepped for the regular classes. After being less than happy in my own skin for the last 9 years, this year, after turning 40 I decided to do something about it. I've never worked out in a gym and have always been intimidated by them. Beach Fitness originally found my company to help them with their Macs. Shortly after my husband decided to join for CrossFit I started seeing his results. While his results were exciting, I still didn't think I could just jump into CrossFit so I started seeing their personal trainers 2-3 times a week. I mostly worked with Josh and he was the right balance of pushing and understanding my fears. He helped me get comfortable with the equipment and all the movements. After 4 months on the personal training side I finally decided to make the CrossFit jump. My only regret was not doing it sooner! I'm 2 months in and feeling stronger, and more confident every day. I've dropped 2 belt notches and I'm about to drop a third. All the coaches/trainers have been amazing. Joe has been so patient in working with me and helping me push myself to do more. I truly believe you would never be able to work out this hard on your own. Being in a class with other people that are "suffering" right along side you pushes us all. I leave class a sweaty mess and feel so fantastic by 10am. Going from a chubby geek to being able to throw weight up over my head has been so empowering. Thank you so much Bryce and Barbara for running a fantastic business. It really has an amazing family feel and I've made so many great friends here. More...

Tons of good energy as soon as you walk in. These people are motivating and fun, but they can sure push your body to it's limit! The group classes and CrossFit are super fun and challenging!I recommend this gym to everyone! More...

Place is great!  All the trainers (coaches) remember your name which is impressive considering all the people through all the classes they have. .  They also remember who you are, meaning they remember what you are good at, bad at and help you to incredible strength and endurance gains!  Classes are not crowded and when there are a good number of people in there, the coaches run the class so you wouldn't even know it.  Great place. I started personal training sessions at Beach Fitness at the end of 2011.  I was a bit apprehensive about going -- I didn't know if I really NEEDED personal training and wasn't sure if it would be worth coming over from Belmont Shore to Seal Beach for workouts. It's turned out to be a great decision and very much worth the time and cost.I've been going twice per week for one-hour sessions for five months now and have really seen some great results.  I've been working with trainers James and Joe.  James is extremely knowledgeable and consistent; Joe is very personable and motivating. My payoff has come in terms of strength, weight loss and improved ability to recover from minor injuries quickly.  Bryce and Barbara run a good ship over there -- all the trainers are friendly and it's a pleasant place to get my ass kicked 2x per week.I haven't tried cross-fit classes yet, but I'm thinking about it. Crossfit Seal Beach is a step above. Their trainers, Joey and Drew, can definitely walk the walk. They are always high energy and extremely knowledgeable. They will push you to do your best every time. There are a few of us who came from other Crossfit gyms and we all seem to really like this one. If your idea of a Crossfit gym is sitting around BS'ing the day away, this is not the place for you. If your idea is to get in amazing shape, come check this place out. More...
