Anton's Movers

We were looking to move from Boston to NYC, and found Anton's Movers based on the great reviews. They have a flat price for Boston to NYC, with pickup in the evening and delivery in the early morning.  The flat price included labor time, furniture blankets, tape, and plastic wrap. This was the cheapest option by far, with the highest reviews, for an intercity move. I looked into 5 other moving companies which were usually $200-$500 more expensive. The movers were professional, polite, and very fast! They loaded up the truck in 20min, and unloaded it in 40 min (this was including 3 flights of stairs!). We used Anton's Movers this past week for our very short and sweet move to a neighboring town in MA. I did some research and despite being located further away than some places in Boston, I chose Anton's because their website and estimate-obtaining service is very easy, they have competitive pricing per hour, and they were super flexible. I wasn't sure how much I was able to pack so I wasn't able to give them a good idea of whether I would need packing or not but they were cool with whatever. The movers were very nice, professional, young, and CUTE. They were super fast with everything and got the job done in less time than I anticipated with the final price being in the neighborhood of the quote. My ONLY issue is that with essentially every fragile item they asked "do you have room for this in your car? (we were packing up our car simultaneously to speed things along) because we'd have to wrap it and charge you for materials" which felt kinda weird, that is why I hired you after all. It's possible they were just trying to help keep the costs down for us but I did feel pressured to move some things myself. We moved from Texas to Newton and rented for one year before buying a house in Waban. We have moved many times, but always with a corporate move. This was the first time we moved where we had to pay. I can't say that moving is easy, but Antons made the experience a good one. The pricing was less than I expected and the crew were very professional and communication was great. Anton's movers is amazing! I've used them three times moving around Boston. Most recently used them last weekend to move my one bedroom apartment - the whole move was done in about 2. 5 hours, and they packed and wrapped all my large furniture. Very quick and easy move with Anton's Movers. I had an experience of working with movers who try to make things slow as we pay per hour rate. With all the good reviews in guessing I was an anomaly but I feel compelled to share my story.  Ive used a different company a few times and they were great.  At the end, I was happy to pay them for all their hard work.  By the end of my experience with Antons, I just wanted them gone.So I had a pickup request of a piece of furniture an hour away so the job was to drive, pick up, drive back and deliver.  Easy.  I also called them beforehand and told them that I needed a desk moved down the hall and maybe a tabletop moved.  On the phone, they said, of course they are there by the hour so whatever you need they can do.  Perfect.Day of job, they arrive, bring in the piece and put it in the room.  All going well.  I said okay let me show you the desk I need moved.  Response:. Oh no no no, that's not part of the job.  I said, I called a few days ago and they said it would all be fine.  "Let me call to confirm this because it's not on the job list.". Few minutes later, okay where is the desk.  Oh and, if we get a ticket you are responsible because we are double parked.  It's like he was angry at me for asking him to move my desk.  After a lot of huffing and puffing (from complaining, not working hard) they move the desk.  He says I have to go get the paperwork from the truck.  Comes back and I said would you mind moving this partial tabletop to the back alley on your way out.  Mind you, this is something I could have done but figured they were here.  Response:. Why didn't you ask me this before the other guy went back to the truck?  So sorry I asked you to carry something on your way outside.  By the end, I felt that they hard overcharged me because by calculation they had begun their drive at 630a but at that point I just wanted them gone and didn't want to fight them on that one.  I fully regret using this company and will be going back to the guys I have really loved working with in the past (move and care).  I literally was so happy with my other guys over multiple moved that I gave them a bigger tip than expected every time...the thought of a tip didn't even cross my mind with these guys.  Maybe he was having a bad day but don't take it out on the customer.Update:  they reached out to me and apologized for the experience.  Goes a long way so thank you. They did an excellent job with a tough move between two Boston south end apartments (3rd floor to 4th floor). Efficient, careful, and friendly. There was a billing error initially that Anton's team resolved with me in a proactive and professional manner subsequent to the move. We had a great experience moving from one Boston neighborhood to another earlier this December. Dennis and Donnie were the best, very fast and very professional. We had some larger furniture that was assembled in our apartment that I was worried about getting through the tight entry way but they were able to do it with care. We had most of our things in boxes before they came. More delicate furniture and items with moving parts were wrapped in cloth and tape before carried out.I was especially impressed with how efficiently they packed the truck. Everything was strapped down and organized in a way that made unpacking it equally efficient. At our new place there were some more tight spaces and a door needed to come off its hinges. They were able to do this without skipping a beat and had the door replaced before they left. Overall moving with Anton's Movers was a great experience. It only took about 3 hours and ended up being more affordable than the already affordable quote they gave us. We would definitely move with them again. More...

After moving across the country a year ago and having one of the most horrific experiences of my life, it was an absolute pleasure to work with the guys at Anton' s. From the moment I called to make the appointment until the day they dropped off our things in New York, these guys were nothing but lovely. They were on time, respectful and incredibly fast. My only complaint is that one of our boxes fell in the truck and left a pretty big gash in our rather expensive and practically new dresser that will cost quite a bit to fix, but accidents happen and as far as moves go, this one was pretty painless. Great. Fast team and straightforward in doing everything for my move from Boston to NYC. While moving in on Saturday morning, the NYC apartment superintendent vetoed and requested a last-minute, customized insurance document. Anton HQ on a Sat morning figured it out and turned around a new document which satisfied the superintendent and allowed the rest of the move to continue instead of being rescheduled to a later weekday. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say. These guys were AMAZING!!! They were on time, efficient, professional and super helpful.  They took such great care of our things that I was simply stunned. I've had terrible experiences with moving in the past so I wasn't very hopeful. These guys completely changed my opinion and I would hire them again In a second. I'm going to recommend them to everyone I know because they were that good. They literally wrapped every piece of furniture and made sure to take extra care of the glass and leather (which we had a lot of). They never slowed down for a second. I never once felt like they were milking the clock or not moving fast. One of the guys even skipped steps going up and down the stairs. The total move took longer than we anticipated and I never once heard any complaints or anything. I even felt bad that they were working so hard but they just kept smiling and moving. This was my first time using professional movers, and Anton's made me realize I should never again move without them! I was contacted within one minute of reaching out, was given a promotional quote that was far more competitive than the competition ($80/hr), AND I was able to move on a sunny, weekend day . I didn't even have to pay a deposit, and the booking was so easy, that a small part of me wondered whether they were actually going to show up. A few days later, Sam and Greg arrived on the dot, and were professional, gregarious, extremely efficient, and trustworthy. Everything was wrapped professionally, and unpacked at my new place two hours later, without a scratch. They were very experienced, understanding how to take apart your couch within seconds (even though it originally took you an hour to figure out how to put it together), and physically superhuman, quickly going up and down several flights of stairs on both ends of the third floor apartments, always smiling. I never felt that they were trying to overcharge or slip in any additional fees, in fact they didn't even charge for any of the packing materials they used. The only thing that was unclear was that you could either use the 3% cash discount OR the Yelp discount, not both. Still, an incredible value and service that I'm so grateful for. Book them now! I cannot say enough good things about Anton's!  I have used them twice in the last several months - the first time to unload the contents of a full moving truck into storage, and the second time to move us out of storage and into our new home.  Both experiences were as good as moving gets.  The first time around we had several unexpected schedule changes due to a delay in the arrival of our moving truck.  Anton's was extremely accommodating in moving the date of our move several times.  Communication from the office was great, from confirming the details of the move the day before, to letting us know when the crew was en route and keeping us updated with their ETA.  They arrived right on time for both moves.  The crews that came were professional, efficient, and handled all of our belongings with care.  They even took time to re-wrap furniture and correct other issues that our movers on the front end did poorly.  All of the guys were extremely good natured and pleasant to spend the day with.  Best of all, their prices are extremely reasonable.  Would not hesitate to use again!! Anton's has helped me with two Boston moves, and each time, they've been timely, efficient, and professional. The first time I hired them, my scheduled move was cancelled because of snow, but they called me the day before to notify me and were able to reschedule me for the morning following the storm. My husband & I have moved a lot in our lives & this is definitely the BEST experience we've ever had! The guys were extremely fast & had the most fun, pleasant personalities the whole time. Very hard workers, extremely caring & gentle with our furniture... I would absolutely recommend them to anyone planning a move. (I priced out 4 moving companies from google in advance. Had a fantastic experience with Anton's during our move from Brooklyn to Boston last weekend. They were easy to work with in advance of the move and gave us a clear written quote based on our estimates. When we had to revise those estimates up, they were understanding and it didn't even wind up impacting our (very reasonable rate). On moving day, the team showed up within the promised window and was friendly, efficient and professional. Once in Boston, they unloaded the entire truck & followed our direction as to where everything should go in just an hour. Anton's handled our Brooklyn to Boston move in one day without a hitch.  They arrived on time, were very efficient packing our items - wrapped the furniture and handled all with care.  The flat fee was reasonable and they charged what they quoted.  I relied only on the online reviews in making my choice (and in Tony's prompt email responses and confidence describing their process when the spoke on the phone) and could not have been more pleased.  We would use them again and highly recommend Anton's. We just had our second move with Anton's, and once again they were the best!   Incredibly fast and accommodating,  couldn' t have asked for more from a crew.  Reasonable rates and did I mention fast?  They had the truck loaded in half an hour and unloaded in an hour (3rd floor walk up). I had a great experience with this company. After a failed attempt at using another moving company that would not confirm with me, I called Anton' s and they were able to get me 2 movers to help out the next morning. They were a little late, but they called me and kept me up to date on their car trouble, giving me updated ETA. They were super efficient when they got there and packed our truck so well!
