Hidden Gem here in Hilton Head. Unlike those that get so much attention for being tourist-oriented, this place doesn't. It's off the beaten path to an extent, both street and building. Having said that, it was quite a surprise a day after Christmas. For the four of us, the meals were each exceptionally good. Arugula salad, fried chicken (among the best anywhere), and blue crab cakes (almost literally no filler). Nice craft beer selection, too. Service very good, atmosphere dark and inviting. Most of the menu appears to be organically-driven (yeah!).Absolutely, we will return....next time for lunch. More...
Friendly staff good food
Food was great and the service was awsome.
Great food and service.
True Southern fried chicken!! Nashville HOT!! YUM!
Oh my! The food was spectacular! We were looking for a non-seafood restaurant. The portions were huge. The prices were affordable. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant. We will return! More...
LOVE THIS PLACE!! The food is always fabulously delicious, the service is warm inviting, and the 50 % off meals, for signing up
Great food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Hours were a bit deceiving. Posted in window open at 11:00 but didn't open until 4:00.
The overall experience was outstanding. The service was great! I had the chicken and French toast and I'd have to say that the food was packed full of flavor.I'll definitely be back.
Wonderful food every time we go! Reasonable prices and the menu has something for everyone! Highly recommend!
What a find!!! My wife had the fried chicken and I got the shrimp and grits... Both meals were delicious. Would definitely recommend!!!!
Went for lunch and the food was delicious and service fantastic. I had the fried green tomato blt and my mom had shrimp roll. Highly recommend!
Un super lugar
I've lived on the Island for 8 months and just found this gem! Some of the best food I've found here!
Jim and the folks at Annie O's are passionate about their food. Among other great options, they have some of the best fried chicken, shrimp, smoked pork, biscuits, and collards anywhere in the vicinity. Don't even start on the chicken sandwich debate - you won't get anything close to theirs from a drive-through. Grab theirs and subsequently wonder why people would wait in line for anything less. Dine-in or pick-up, they've got you covered. Part of my weekly routine. Don't miss out. More...
Summary: This place is incredible, especially if you love southern cuisine.I went there last night (9/26/19), just looking for a relaxed local place that was a bit off the beaten path. I'm a fan of local restaurants and nearly always prefer them to the chains. I know that I'll usually get a chance to experience something that I couldn't elsewhere, and I like supporting local businesses as well. The two of us ordered a fried green tomato appetizer, a shrimp and grits entree and a roasted half chicken entree along with sides. Wow!Let me start with the appetizer. There were 6 friend green tomato slices, each topped with its own blackened shrimp and a balsamic drizzle. This was one of the best fried green tomato appetizers I've had in a long while. The dish came out piping hot and everything was done perfectly. Shrimp can sometimes get overcooked while waiting for other components of a dish - not in this case. The entrees were quite good and filling as well. The shrimp and grits were quite authentic and came with a side dish and a homemade biscuit. The biscuit had a good buttery flavor and did a wonderful job sopping up the remaining sauce from the shrimp dish. I opted for collard greens as a side and was quite pleased. Sometimes a dish like that can have flavors that are put out of balance - up north it's somewhat common to have them get a little too much of a sugary flavor... not in this case. The greens were spot on, with a slight acuteness of vinegar that one would expect to taste, precisely as I'd hoped to experience. Now that I've described the food, let me tell you a few more things. First, this place has reverse osmosis filtered water. You may not think this is a big deal, but it is a huge relief to finally have water down here that doesn't come out of a bottle and doesn't have a funny taste. Maybe it's because I'm used to using one of those systems at home - but it was a definite pleasure to have a restaurant that served it as part of the meal. Second, this place is environmentally conscious in their practices. That's also an important consideration - again, maybe not a big deal to some and certainly not the primary reason for my decision to dine there, but still a good thing. Finally, the service was great as well - very attentive to needs, and interested in feedback during and after the meal. This tells me that they're serious about doing things right. I feel really good about supporting places like that. More...
Excellent southern food. I had the pork chops and my husband had the shrimp pot pie. Both were excellent. Our sides were delicious! Relaxing atmosphere, great service. We wanted to have the tomato pie but we were STUFFED. We can’t wait to go back. More...
The service was great. The food....OMG so delicious
Just left this place with my family and had a great filling southern dinner at this "mom and pop" kinda spot! I ordered the Chicken n' French Toast. ..super delish! I cleaned the plate! More...
Love to stop by Annie O's on our way back onto the Island so we can have a delicious dinner when we arrive back home. Today we are having the unbelievable Nashville chicken sandwich and the always amazing zucchini and tomatoes.
I had shrimp and grits I thought I had the best ones in Savannah but I found out different. This small restaurant in hilton head had the most awesome shrimp and grits I have ever tasted
Food was great
Great food and great service! We’ll definitely go back!
I love this place.......they have the best fried chicken hands down and they atmosphere is really cool. When I want comfort food I think of Annie O's Kitchen.
Best casual restaurant on HH
Always fresh and delicious with excellent prices.
GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. We went to Low Country Backyard to find a 1.5 hour wait. I found this place on Yelp and called them. There was no wait. Hearing there was no wait scared me a little, but I was pleasantly surprised. The owner wants your business, and he'll work to earn it. The fried chicken, baked beans, fried green tomatoes, and jalapeno pimento cheese dip was great. Everyone in my party of seven enjoyed our food. The servers check on you every 5 minutes. The owner checked on us quite often too. He was very friendly as well. I'll be back here upon my next visit to HHI. More...

Don’t be fooled by the big name restaurants on the island if you want truly good food with intelligent ingredients, eat here.

We had Annie os cater dinner for our large family for several nights. The service was outstanding. The food perfectly seasoned and prepared. Our family was was very pleased.
The fried green tomatoes were amazing!
Our favorite restaurant on the island. Have been coming to HHI for years. Annie O's was being remodeled on one of our visits. Almost ruined the trip as we couldn't go there! Great southern and comfort food. A must if in the area. More...
This is a great place for authentic, southern food. They put a lot of love into every dish, and it shows. 4 of us ate there tonight, everyone ordered something different, and all of it tasted great. Throw in good, friendly service, and you have a winner. We constantly look for restaurants that we can come back to every year when we visit the island, and this place has definitely made the cut. What a great find tonight. The food was delicious and fresh. We had a variety of entrees including the crab cakes, fried chicken, and pan seared flounder. Service was very nice as well. We'll be back for sure. More...
Nice little eatery. Little over-priced but good flavor. Waitress was awesome
Amazing authentic southern eats.
Ordered fried chicken, barbecued pork and strawberry shortcake for 4th of July celebration. It was terrific and would definitely use your catering services again. Thank you.
This was a great find for us. The food was fresh and delicious. You can tell they prepare a good variety of selections without stretching too far. Our party tried a variety of dishes, and it was all delicious. Service was very good and attentive. My only disappointment was not having room to try a dessert. More...
Excellent! We've passed Annie O's while on HHI many times and decided to stop in tonight for dinner. I'm so sorry we didn't try it sooner. It is now one of our favorites on the island. Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The menu is filled with healthier southern cooking. This Maryland girl was pleasantly surprised on how yummy the Blue Crab Cakes were. Two cakes with lots of crab, seasoned perfectly so the crab flavor still shown through. I had sweet potato mashers and a small kale, clementine and feta salad. My husband ordered the meatloaf and southern green beans and loved it. It was a generous portion of two thick slices cooked perfectly, moist inside with a slight crust around the edges. It was topped with just the right amount of a flavorful gravy, almost like au jus. The menu is filled with locally sourced veggies, grass fed beef, pasturepork, free range chicken, wild sustainable seafood. Even the water is filtered. Carry out containers and flatware are compostable. Definitely my kind of place. More...
A great local place not overrun by tourists even though we're tourists. We had 8 people and the server was helpful especially with an allergy we were worried about. It's neither fancy nor expensive just really good traditional southern fried eats. Would recommend to anyone and they take reservations More...
Had an awesome lunch with my wife and daughter. I had the Nashville hot chicken with a side of greens. Wife had the chicken and French toast. Staff was attentive and friendly. I'd certainly come back. More...
A great find! Megan was excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable and the food was delicious! Hate I forgot to take pictures of food.
Delicious, I had the grass fed burger medium-well. All I can say is delicious!
Great southern cooking. Side dishes seem to always be sold out by the time I get there.
Great farm to table restaurant!
My family came here for dinner after our first plan was foiled. In the middle of dinner I said "I love when original restaurant plans fail and my new plan ends up being amazing! " We were blown away by the service and food! I would highly recommend the watermelon tea, Nashville hot chicken or fried chicken, collard greens, and the white chicken lasagna. The biscuits too!! So amazing. We had 2 littles with us and though they don't have a published kids menu they had grilled cheese and chicken nuggets with chips or a clementine. Eat here and enjoy!! More...
Our second visit here and the food is fantastic! We had a huge group and the food all came out correctly (one incorrect side dish among 26 orders), at the same time, and hot. Our table had FGT sliders, fried chicken dinner, fried fish, tomato pie and a salad, accompanied by watermelon sweet tea and craft beers. All were delicious. The service was attentive and super friendly. I echo an earlier comment that the menu is confusing with an "all day" header on one side only applying to one column. They could slightly expand the kid options and keep the dining room a little cooler, but this place is a keeper. More...
Fantastic food and service. The banana pudding is delicious. I ordered the pork chop and my husband had the tomato pie and we were both very pleased with our meals. We live Annie Os.
Fantastic food with some of best hot chicken I have ever had including my travels to NashvilleAll fresh, organic with perfect spice and seasoning. Highly suggest for anyone in HHI to try this place More...
Hidden gem on Hilton Head. Food was awesome. Menu is well thought out and cohesive. Seafood is fresh. Chicken was delicious. Come here instead of the various chains on the island. More...
By far, a shocking surprise. This place is dynamite. Put this on your HHI food "bucket list".
Amazing meal, great atmosphere!
The BEST fried chicken I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Had the Nashville hot chicken with a nice chopped romaine salad and a homemade biscuit. All of this was absolutely perfect, the chicken was very flavorful and moist, the biscuit buttery and flakey and the salad was great with their vinnegarette. The atmosphere at the restaurant is also very nice, modern decor and ambient lighting with low volume music going in the background. Annie's is a little off of the beaten path but it's definitely highly recommended, and we will be back next time we're in the area. :-) More...
Best fried chicken I've had! 10/10 would recommend!
Very good food!
Amazing hidden gem! We happened upon this southern eats and love it! Can't wait to come back next year when visit Hilton Head.
Really good food. I had chicken and dumplings, a biscuit and a side of smashed sweet potatoes. Took home leftovers!
Food and service were excellent. Will definitely be back!
Ate lunch here after a round of golf at HH. Had the fried chicken with smashed sweet potatoes. Fantastic. Chicken was hot, crispy and juicy with the perfect amount of salt and spice. We shared this plate and then almost ordered another (would have if not another tee time). Service was great. Only knock was lack of liquor license, but understood it was coming. More...
We love Annie O's. Favorite restaurant in Hilton Head island. Food and service were great as always. Hubby loves their flank steak and I'm a great fan of their crab cakes but haven't been disappointed regardless of what we eat.
Great food! Slow service.
Great lunch! The Fried Tomatoes and the salads are FANTASTIC! The deviled eggs are really good as well. We loved everything!
Nashville Fried Chicken very tasty and great service as always
This place was exceptional! A small place with the freshest food around! The biscuits themselves are worth the drive. Country cooking at its best! Companions enjoyed chicken grilled and fried. They all raves about the how juicy and fresh it was on top of not being greasy. I enjoyed the jalapeño cheese dip and the chicken lasagna. Really loved the tomato and zucchini side dish. On top of great food, the service was excellent!!! Will be back. More...
Great ambiance! Small place so can fill up fast during peak season
Went for lunch today. Excellent service and great food. My wife had the shrimp and I had the catfish. The portions are the perfect size , and the variety of menu items is sufficient enough to satisfy just about anyone. We'll definitely go again.
Annie O's has great value, service and amazing food. This is the friendliest , most down to earth place on Hilton Head. Go see Jim and friends today for the best in Southern eats. Go now!!!
Good food, good southern menu, good service.
Such a treat on the Island! Wonderful food and atmosphere. This is a must visit for vacationers and locals. Best fried chicken on the island. Can't wait to go back!
Best fried chicken and banana pudding in town. A must when you're craving some comfort food!!!
We had a great dinner at Annie O's. We started with the crispy chicken livers which were perfectly cooked. I had the shrimp and grits - super creamy and the shrimp were plump and tender. My spouse had the fried chicken which was tasty and tender. We both had the zucchini and tomatoes as a side - a simple dish but absolutely delicious. We will be back! More...
I love coupons but experience has taught me that they usually are on food that requires a coupon to sell. Not here. Shrimp and grits were excellent. Hot fried chicken was excellent. Biscuits excellent. Only not excellent was the banana pudding. Too sweet for me but that's minor. Environmentally concerned restaurant with wonderful food. Coupon worked. I'll be back at full price More...
Annie O's is AMAZING! We have been four times and every meal has been delicious. Chef Jim's dishes are perfection! We are not sure why he puts salt and pepper on the table because every dish we have had has been seasoned perfectly! We highly recommend any dish with the shrimp! The shrimp has to be the freshest on the island! His meatloaf is delicious! The seasonal sides are always amazing! The fried chicken is also delicious! You can also get on their VIP list and you get updates and special offers texted directly to your phone! We crave Annie O's! More...
Best tomato pie I ever tasted
Good food. Nice staff.
The atmosphere of the place was unique.Especially now, Christmas time, the lights and decorations are very welcoming and cozy. Bethany was really sweet and her creations amazing. The food was delicious, and although some people won't like to hear it, I strongly suggest the chicken liver appetizer and the hilton head white chicken. Both were fantastic. There is entrance for handicap, enough parking spots in the lot and some huge smiles making your visit wonderful. YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS PLACE . More...
Awesome food and service! Quiet and peaceful environment. Decorations were beautiful!

Great food and service
One of our favorites every year
It should be a law that you must stop by Annie O's before you leave Hilton Head island, great food.nice treat
This has been one of the highlights of the trip. We stopped in for a late lunch and found the food to be not only delightful but delicious and diverse enough please everyone's palette. The food is fresh, well prepared with creative spins making the meal a memorable experience. The catfish was crispy on the outside and flaky, perfectly done on the inside. The pulled pork was a huge portion that our fnnriend said that he wouldn't have eaten it all except that it was just so good! Thought we were stuffed, we did split a couple of desserts that were absolutely perfect end to the meal. More...

Quaint little southern food restaraunt. Food was delicious, lovely atmosphere.

Pulled pork sliders w baked beans, White chicken lasagna w sweet potatoes, Pork chops w collards and baked beans. Finished w sweet iced tea $3.50 w refills. Dinner for 3, $70. Getting the "itis" afterwards, money well spent! Pics attached. More...
The meal and service were great. The prices were a little too high for my liking though. It is in a sort of run down center but the inside is cozy.
Another tourist I met recommended this place and I’m glad they did. Great contemporary southern food and cute atmosphere.
Very good food and extremely friendly service. I appreciate their preference for natural and organic ingredients. Will be on our regular list when we visit.
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! We had lunch at Annie O's last Monday, after our Costal Discovery Museum trip, and were all enamored with the food, atmosphere, and service. We were all in the mood for some good southern food and found it here! I got the Shrimp and Grits, and they were the best that I've ever had. I had collard greens on the side and they were tasty, spicy and a little meaty. My husband and two daughters got the fried chicken, and they all raved about how juicy, flavorful and crispy it was. Even the kids meals were good! The grilled cheese was amazing. The sweet tea was tasty, the desert options were delicious. We've got it bookmarked already for our trip back to Hilton Head next year. If you're in the area and trying to decide, I'd say that you should definitely try Annie O's, you won't be disappointed. More...
I loved the chicken and French toast!! I will definitely come back for more when visiting yearly. Oh and the banana pudding you definitely have to try. Go during lunch for what you get the price is awesome. More...
Great place and good food!
This used to be our favorite place to go but things have changed. Service and food was great, however the green beans tasted like they were from a can and not fresh. They only have beers made in SC which is cool but means you have a limited selection to choose from. The tea also tasted like it had been made a few days prior. Also things were on the pricey side and I didn't leave feeling satisfied like before. More...
All of our food was delicious and the service was outstanding, our server was so nice!
We loved the awesome southern cooking, great friendly owner and server, and the charm of the restaurant.
We ate lunch there today and had deviled eggs and burgers, delicious!
I try something different every time and am never dissatisfied, great atmosphere, great people. Joe
Wow delicious food and service..

Great food and very nice atmosphere!
My best friend and I took a day trip from Augusta to Hilton head for my 30th birthday yesterday on 7/28/18. We spent all morning on the beach and decided to grab a late lunch. We found Annie O’s on google under best places to eat in Hilton Head. I am soooo glad we stumbled upon this restaurant. This was such a awesome experience from beginning to end. We were greeted by our server Stephanie at the door with a giant smile. The decor was modern and inviting, very clean and comfortable. Stephanie was so attentive and personable. She gave us excellent descriptions of the menu and specials. But now we are to the good part! I started out with the watermelon sweet tea. All I have to say about that is wow! It is nothing like you’d expect. It was light and refreshing, not overly watermelonish. It was delicious! We decided to order the chicken wings as our appetizer with Stephanie’s suggestion of the Nashville hot flavor. Ohhhh myyyy gooosshhhh. They were like nothing I’ve ever had. They were crispy and juicy. Spicy but not overly hot. We took our first bites and just looked at each other like WOW! Seriously they were amazing. I ordered the chicken dumplings with collard greens as my side. My best friend had the jumbo steak wrap and chips. She said it was the best she had ever had. That her steak was soft and perfectly cooked. She really liked that cucumbers come in the wrap. She said it was very fresh. I felt no different about my meal. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The chicken dumplings were beyond flavorful and so hearty. Everything tastes like it was made with so much love. My best friend and I literally could not stop talking about how delicious the food was. We joked that it was a life changing meal. It really was though. I know this was a long post but I hope anyone who reads this can understand why it needed to be. When you find a place like this it must be appreciated and celebrated. Take the chance and go to Annie O’s as soon as you can! I promise you and your taste buds will not regret it. More...
Really good take on lowcountry, southern cooking from an organic, sustainable perspective.
Amazing resturant! great hospitality, service, and food. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. I would recommend anyone to give it a try, for it is well worth it.
Wonderful southern cooking! Shrimp and grits was amazing! Nashville hot chicken was super juicy. Highly recommend!

Excellent service and personable! The fried chicken is the best I've had in a long time!
This place is awesome!! We went for lunch and everything was fresh, organic and beautifully prepared. The banana pudding was delicious!!
Good but some issues.
Terrific menu, great prices, the best ice tea. I had the chicken and french toast, yes french toast. Loved it. Modern rustic interior.
Good food, great fried chicken, cat fish, etc. Shrimp & grits are best on the island. No frills joint, friendly atmosphere.
Great comfort Southern food. The lunch menu is fantastic value.
Great food and atmosphere
You have to go and eat there to see for yourself just good the food is.
Wonderful food and service! Competitive prices!
The best shrimp and grits
The food is Fantastic and the staff is very friendly like family. God Bless.
Clean open floor plan with great casual southern good. Fried chicken cooked to order is a specialty
Great place to grab a bite
Cute little place. Great catfish, fried chicken + shrimp & grits. An out of the way gem.
Great place for those tired of only steak and seafood. A gem that's not heavily advertised. It's now going to be on our favorites list.

Visiting from Florida wanted a taste of the South. Lunch combo fantastic. Fried Chicken Delish! Crispy with just the right seasoning. Shrimp and Gruts to die for. (With bacon, garlic on shrimp perfect, grits creamy) BOURBON TIRAMISU the absolute best. Love the decor and the atmosphere. More...
Very nice staff, great tomato pie! The Nashville hot chicken should be called Nashville warm chicken but it was still moist and good, just needs more seasoning and heat. The collards are delicious, not sweet at all which is how we like them. Again, the tomato pie is the best ever! More...
Excellent service and great home style food. You can’t beat this place for quality or value.
We keep coming back for fresh , great food; yet, the kicker is their banana pudding; others might claim to have good banana pudding; but Annie' o's by far is best ; hands down; thumbs up. This is a hidden jewel of Hilton Head. More...
Great contemporary southern food. The best fried chicken I've ever eaten. We also had shrimp and grits. Delicious. The Mac n cheese and collard greens yummy too! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. We started with the fried green tomato and blackened shrimp stack, which was perfect. Nashville hot chicken for my entree. Came with a biscuit and I chose the sweet potato side. Chicken was amazing, perfect amount of spice. Biscuit and sweet potatoes were worthy companions to the glorious fried bird. We ate at many of the highly rated spots on HH, and this was easily the best. Portions are good and prices feel very fair (not so at other spots around and I'm a New Yorker so I know a bit about overpriced food). Go visit them today! More...
Great food and service! Love the ambiance. Not sure why this place wasn't packed- best food since we've been here!
We come to this place every time we're in Hilton Head. Unless you're looking for the place, you'd never know it was there, but it's a secret gem of a restaurant. They are very eco conscious, and the place has an eclectic rustic vibe. The food- everything is so good! The fried green tomatoes and the fried chicken strips are my favorite, paired with a housemade ranch dip. Definitely worth the trip! More...
So this trip to Hilton Head we decided not to go into Savannah to Mrs.Wilkes boarding house but we still wanted to have some southern food. We found Annie O's just outside the Sea Pines gate. First and foremost our waitress, Stefanie, couldn't be any nicer. We were there for lunch and two of us took advantage of there $12 lunch plates. My daughter had the catfish and she loved it and she's pretty particular about her seafood. My wife had their signature fried chicken plate. 2 big pieces of chicken which wouldn't leave anyone longing for Mrs. Wilkes'. After a refreshing bowl of watermelon gazpacho, I had the meal portion of the best friend chicken livers I have ever eaten. We finished our meal with some banana pudding and key lime pie both served in Mason jars and both were delicious! We will be back next time we're at HHI. More...
My family decided to end our visit to Hilton Head with a dinner at this lovely restaurant. The menu is fun and everything we had that evening was delicious from the fried chicken to the shrimp dishes, the chicken and French toast and the hot chicken. I had the flank steak with collard greens and sautéed tomatoes and zucchini and thought the sides were just as delicious as the main entree. The service was great and the decor was rustic but comfortable. Very friendly people here. More...
We switched it up this year as a family and went with Annie O's even though we had never been there. It blew us away and then some! From the nicest waitress any of us had ever had, to the real southern sweet tea, Annie O's was top notch. The owner came around and made sure we were having a great time with great food. The white chicken lasagna was creamy, well prepared, and both plates that it came on were empty by the end of the meal. The southern fried chicken was unlike any I've had before in the best way possible. To top the meal off we had the best banana pudding and key lime pie served deconstructed in mason jars. This will become a staple of our trips down to Hilton Head for years to come! More...
This was a true hidden gem! We tried to see more 'local' spots and I think we found it here. We enjoyed their environmentally conscious attitude and the food was so tasty! My only suggestion would to be to include more vegetarian options, pretty much everything on the menu was sustainably source meats. Aside from that, they had some fun takes on usual summer fare. Great place for southern cooking. We are looking for a caterer for a small wedding party and Jim was more than willing to work with us on menu and price. Food we sampled was pork chops, chicken and dumplings, both good. And sides were all great, especially baked beans! Yum! More...
The traditional BLT and Pork Chops are excellent. The mashed sweet potatoes and fried potato chips are great. The waiter was friendly and engaged in a conversation. A little hard to find but a worth finding. The entries are organic and never frozen and you'll taste the difference. The price was very reasonable. More...
My wife and I are vacationing from the Midwest and have tried many different places to eat over the week. Annie O's is one of the Best! Our waiter was very informative, personable, and talkative. We enjoyed our conversation with him. Then we started with an appetizer (blackened shrimp and fried green tomatoes), which I never had and after I did I wish I had more! Beat appetizer I have had all week. Both my wife and I loved them both, such good flavor. We had a taste for fried chicken, so we split the fried chicken dinner with a side of zucchini. Both had such a fresh flavor and taste. The chicken was so fresh and moist, I picked the bones clean. We were not done, as we split the banana pudding, yummy. You will have to order and then guess what the chips are in the pudding. The price was very reasonable and if we were staying longer we would be back at least a few more times. We hope to visit HHI again and when we do, Annie O,s will be first on our dinning list. The only non positive is the location. We drove by twice and I was ready to go somewhere else, but the third attempt was a charm and we are glad for it. Please note the they are located right on the corner of the three way intersection. Hope this helps and enjoy! More...
Amazing food! Good home cooked. Not bad pricing. Collards are to die for!!! Got a fried green tomato BLT and added jalapeño pimento cheese and it was phenomenal! !!! Also ordered a watermelon iced tea and instantly sucked it down!!! Everything is sustainably made also which is a huge bonus!! Highly recommend!!! More...
Husband and I have eaten out quite a bit while being on HHI, and this is definitely the best meal we had. We started off with the jalapeño pimento cheese dip which was just spicy enough. Husband got the Chicken & French Toast. Wow! It was so good. The fried chicken was crispy and tender. The syrup was maple cinnamon and good on everything. This is definitely a shareable entree as it came with two fried chicken breasts. I had the White Chicken Lasagna which was absolutely delicious. This was a new dish for. me, only ever had the traditional lasagna. The chicken was tender and the four-cheese sauce made that dish. We both got a side dish (baked beans) and a homemade biscuit but with such large portions we couldn't eat it all. The beans were very good but the biscuit was a little dry. We're not natives to the area but we would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good southern meal. More...
Just had a great meal at Annie O's. Fried chicken amazing-artisan salad very fresh and huge. Service fast and accurate. Highly recommend!
I have no clue who Annie O is, but I thank her for making our Hilton Head trip tastier. I know it must be shocking to see a 5-star rating for a restaurant in a trendy vacation spot, but this place really hit me in all the right places (OW! ).We came here for lunch in probably the crappiest weather in vacation history. It was rainy, windy, and just plain ugly outside. This place made us forget about all that temporarily because of the deliciousness they served. I had the Shrimp po-boy or sandwich I don't know. Let's say it was a fried shrimp sandwich. This sandwich tasted absolutely amazing and it had actual wild-caught shrimp on the sandwich. It was clearly obvious that the seafood they were using was actually fresh. My galfriend on the other hand had their burger, which in retrospect is probably isn't what you should get when you come to a seafood paradise. Nonetheless the burger was actually really good! I know because I took a big beluga whale bite out of her sandwich. Pretty damn tasty. We washed all this down with their homemade organic lemonade and wrapped up lunch with their strawberry shortcake. I almost didn't get either of these items in the beginning, but boy I would've make a life altering mistake. Even these two items were crazzzzzy good. I think it's safe to say that we'll come back for the food easily.Service, price, and decor was also on point. This place has a nice vibe about it on the inside and the people serving you don't bite. Overall, I'd give this my Hilton Head lunch spot of the year award, well if I had one to give. More...
This place is AMAZING!!! We had a family of 5 with 2 apps and 4 entrees and everyone loved it!! Also, one of my kids has an egg allergy and he could eat everything! The chicken fingers and fried chicken are top notch!! The chicken and dumplings is a winner too! Fried green tomato stack with blackened shrimp may be the best appetizer I have ever had anywhere! I highly recommend this restaurant!! More...
Laid back casual restaurant. We had the fried chicken livers which were very good. I had the chicken lasagna which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the shrimp and grits, they were creamy but felt like they were missing something. Skip the watermelon tea it tasted a little off but the sweet tea was pretty good. All in all a pretty good place and our meal was 50% off. More...
Annie Oh Oh so good. What a charming find. We wanted to go to the Low Country Backyard but it had a long wait. So we Yelped and found this highly rated restaurant very close by. We were in the mood to eat Low Country cuisine so this was our only choice. What was weird was that we found Low Country backyard on Yelp too, but didn't see AnnieO's. Both equally rated, but AnnieO's a lot newer. The restaurant is very modern. A Southern Restaurant with a conscience. The interior is very artsy and modern. All the standard Southern dishes were on the menu. We ordered the shrimp and grits, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, fried liver, etc. All dishes were very good. The fried liver was excellent. Sorry, I still hate Okra. The highlight of our meal was our server. I forget her name but know that she moved to Hilton Head recently with her daughter. She was excellent. Really, really nice, attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. I have never said this, but I would come here again just to be served by her. More...
This is a tad late for a review, but I always think back to the wonderful service and food. Roby was outstanding as a server. Very knowledgeable and offered his honest review of different dishes. We had three different tastes and trying to find something for everyone was difficult. However, Roby knocked it out of the park. The food was amazing and probably the best meal we had on the island. The blue crab cakes were beyond my expectations. We stopped in on a Friday night at the end of July (again, late on the review) and were promptly seated. The ambiance was relaxing. We love to try local eats when traveling and to find a place that locally sources is always the ideal place to stop. Again, the food, atmosphere was very enjoyable. To top it off, the service was off the charts. Thanks again! We will be back when on the island. More...
Excellent pork chops, great biscuits, very clean with good decorations and Terri was a very good waitress. This is our first but will not be our last visit.
Stumbled on this treasure by accident. Off the too well-beaten path of the Wm Hilton Pkwy in Hilton Head. I am tempted to not review & keep it my secret. However, Southern Hospitality means sharing good things, food in particular. Best fried chicken on the island. Can't wait to try everything on the menu from Pulled pork to Blackened Shrimp & fried green tomatoes to Banana pudding. Will be a regular without a doubt! Thank God for the 6 mile bike ride, each way. Prices are reasonable with lunch on $10! Finally! More...
Easily our favorite restaurant we experienced while we were in Hilton Head. Worth finding it. Roby was very friendly and spent time explaining the menu. We ordered the Nashville Chicken, Shrimp Pot Pie and the kids got Chicken & French Toast. The French toast was thick and a big portion, Nashville chicken was perfectly fried and super juicy. Shrimp pot pie was a little different, more broth than creamy but the shrimp were really fresh. The biscuits were really good too. Shame we aren't local, but we'll definitely make it a regular spot for our vacations. More...
First time here the kitchen was not working. Gas was out. They were not just apologetic. They asked us to return and gave us an entire meal gratis! !!! $150 they took care of the bill. That is not why I am giving them 5 stars. This was simply the best food that I have had on the island. I had the flounder. Perfectly cooked. Baked Beans were best I have had and the service is fantastic. Great place. Will definitely be back. More...
Really enjoyed Annie O's. Service was exceptional, staff really did a fine job explaining the different nuances of the dishes we asked about. Food was great. I tried the chicken livers, very large and very good. White chicken lasagna was delicious, as was the smoked paprika chicken thighs (think curry here). Portions were right sized. Price was a little high, but that is probably due to the local sourced ingredients. Roby was a wonderful host, he knew the menu very well and helped our vegan companion with many different and delectable options. We had a great time. More...
Stopped at Annie O's by chance for Labor Day dinner. We were greeted & seated promptly and our waiter Roby was very knowledgeable about the background of the restaurant as well as the items on the menu. We started with deviled eggs as our appetizer with watermelon iced tea for my wife and a palmetto IPA for me. All of which were fantastic! For our entrees my wife had fried chicken with collards and baked beans. I chose the blue crab cakes (which were mostly crab too) with stewed zucchini and tomatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was absolutely fantastic! For desert we shared a banana pudding topped with vanilla whipped cream, awesome! The restaurant has been completely renovated since our last visit and new owners took over. They are also focusing on renewable resources such as their plates made from palm trees. Stop in and say hi to Roby, you will leave full and happy for sure. More...
Best lunch so far. Delicious food and great service. Kids (7&10) said it was their favorite meal.
FANTASTIC! If ever back will go again! Chip King Bristol Tn
Great food, stellar service, awesome prices, clean location. AC could be a little colder though.
incredible Fried Chicken good food
Absolutely Positively the BEST most AMAZING place to eat at Hilton Head island. Fantastic service and amazing southern food. Had the best fried chicken I had ever ate and real southern sweet tea. I had suggested they sell there sweet tea by the gallon "just teasin" because it was so good. Next thing I know she brought me out and entire half gallon to take home with me. Such friendly people, inviting beautiful atmosphere... everything was just Perfect. They serve all natural proteins, use fresh herbs and are eco friendly. We will be back again :) More...
Had the pleasure of going to Annie O's Kitchen with some dear friends last night. What an amazing meal and time! Such a cool vibe, they serve their water in cute ice cold mason jars w the lids on. Everything is local and fresh. Chef sent out some new menu items for our table to try - fried chicken and French toast! It was amazing. I had the crab cakes which were so flavorful and loaded with crab!! Our waitress was so friendly also! Try this place, it's a must! They also have pick up and delivery of prepared meals which would be great with the busy days I have! More...
Fresh Look, Great Food! We returned to Annie O's after being away for several months. The place is remodeled with a fresh new look and great decor. Many items on the menu are new, but they certainly have kept the old favorites (ie. Southern Fried Chicken, Shrimp & Grits). The meals were all excellent once again with the trademark great friendly service. All of this, together with a great selection of local craft beers, makes Annie O's a can't miss spot. More...

Excellent southern cuisine. Outstanding service.

Great southern food! Great service! Cute little restaurant

My favorite place to eat at HHI!!!
The food and service was great. The menu items had an array of foods to choose from that would satisfy anyone in the group. The prices were a little high but not unreasonable. It's a good choice for family dining as well as hosting a guest. I would have given it 5 stars if the menu prices had been a little lower, but overall it was a pleasant dining experience for my wife and myself and would not hesitate to recommend it. More...
Delicious all natural foods. Environmentally conscious...loved the bamboo plates!
Excellent food and service. Very attractive specials before six pm.

Hadn't heard of Annie O's in researching restaurants for our trip to HHI, but it came up a few times for "places nearby" when searching one evening looking for a family dinner. What a winner! Had to twist a few arms, because it wasn't well known and it's "just in a regular plaza". However, every family member...seriously, each one, has raved about Annie O's since we left. They all have told friends in the past 24hrs to visit it. And obviously, we loved our meals. Super accommodating for our toddlers as well. Pleasant server, great southern cooking, nice interior. We'll be back for sure next year! More...
Annie O's is by far one of the best restaurants on HHI! Roby was our server tonight and did an awesome job! We will definitely be back!
Attentive servers and classic southern food. Rose was extremely accommodating with a table of 9; 3 people under 7 years old. The food was great with the classics like pork chops and fried catfish as the standouts. Fried chicken was great but compared to the pork chops I'd go with the pork. But you'll have a good time with either. More...
What a wonderful and refreshing change from regular island touristy humdrum! Annie O's totes a menu that is all natural ingredients and the meat is free range and grass fed. We come to Hilton Head every year for vacation. We will definitely be back to this establishment. The wait staff and owner are very accommodating and the service was the perfect mix of attentative and discreet. More...
Looking for a place that is off the radar for the hordes of tourists? Really good contemporary southern style food. They have many of the standard comfort foods, menu changes though with what's fresh and available. We had no waiting for a table. Service was quick and very attentive. Definitely will come back. I love it there and they have some amazing food!!!!!!!!
Quiet and friendly. Excellent service. Great appatiezers and delecious entrees. Decent pricing too.
Fresh, local, and healthy. Extremely friendly staff. I wish I lived here to become a regular. Highly recommend!
We were here a couple years ago and it was good. We came back for lunch today and it was freakishly good! All 5 of us claimed it was the best meal we've had in Hilton Head. ..and we've been coming here for 25 years. Really fresh, Southern food - the fried chicken is worth every calorie. And the price was crazy affordable! Drop your boogie boards and golf clubs and eat here immediately! Lisa P. More...
Great food and service! We were pleasantly surprised to find they had happy hour specials until 6 pm, which included half price crab cakes. Delicious!
Fried chicken was delicious! Friendly service, worth the trip!
Inviting, welcoming and upbeat scene with impeccable service and hospitality. We had the fried chicken which was juicy, tender and crusted to perfection. The chicken and dumplings were a bit heavy with white wine which changed the taste of the Southern staple. Get the banana pudding and thank me later! More...
We accidentally found Annie O's and think it was the best find we've found in Hilton Head, in along time! We were so pleased to get right in! I love southern food, since I'm a Georgia gal, but when you provide it naturally, with no hormones..etc, it's a bonus! Our waiter Roby was really thorough in letting us know all of our options for ordering and what may not be available because they use organic resources. I had the Southern Fried Chicken and a Chopped Romaine side salad & both were phenomenal! The chicken reminded me of my NaNa's! The side salad was huge for a side and had amazing flavor! My son was in wonder over his Shrimp Pot Pie & actually had to pause to recognize it's goodness!! Not typical for a 15yr old boy! My husband had the Chicken arugula Salad & loved it, as well as his Roasted sweet potato side! We finished it off with some of the wonderful parfait style desserts that our waiter, Roby described so tastefully, the White-Chocolate Banana Pudding, Key-Lime Pie & Strawberry Shortcake, all with fresh made whipped cream. All in all a great experience and a great meal! More...
Food was amazing! Great environment for a date if you're into that.
We utilized the chef services while staying at our beach house 4th of July week. Jim and Bethany were excellent and provided top notch service and high quality, delicious food. It was so nice to not have to worry about meal prep and clean up while on vacation- they handled everything for us and were even super fun to hang out with! The grits, fried chicken and pasta night were our favorites. Also included amazing desserts served in mason jars- such a nice touch! Highly recommend Annie O's Chef services for your next vacation to Hilton Head. More...
The food was outstanding...fresh and very well prepared. Perhaps the best southern fried chicken I have had on the island. Roby is an outstanding server and represents the restaurant well.5 stars....you won't be sorry! More...
Try the fried chicken....to die for. Great beer selection.
Great food, great service from Roby, highly recommended! Chicken pot pie and the fried chicken--- excellent. Organic, fresh ingredients used. We will be back.
The best dinner we had on HHI. Fresh food, prepared fresh, excellent attentive wait staff.
This was such a great lunch! Really tasty and unique menu! Im not into southern food but I loved this place!!
A staple for our trips to HHI. Always great people and great southern food. Thanks for the excellent service Roby!
Good food along with good service! Roby was very attentive and knowledgeable.Clean and very comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely visit again next time we come to the island.
Great food specials before 6. The crab cakes were some of the best I've had. Everyone was pleased with the meals.
Great food! Great service. Very large portions as well. We went for a group dinner, had the most amazing shrimp and grits, fried chicken and catfish. Our waiter Rob is super hospitable, explained every from appetizer to dessert in detail and with jokes as well. They're also very environmentally friendly with what they use from utensil, plates, take out container and etc. definitely worth a repeat visit. More...
Great food. Fun service and not the usual fair. It's not going to be for everyone. True southern style cooking.
Awesome dinner for our family of four. Thanks Roby for taking the time to explain the menu in great detail. Describing chicken and dumplings to my daughter as "sort of like Mazto ball soup"? Ingenious. The fried chicken was all it's cracked up to be - probably the best I've had on the island. Plus, go between 5 and 6 and many of the entrees are half price. My son got a 10 oz NY strip for $15! Chicken and French toast was also good. Homemade baked beans were the best. Plus, great atmosphere. Highly recommend. We will be back. More...
Great dinner w Roby! He was awesome about insight on the Southern dishes and the Chicken and French toast was amazing! Cool chill vibe also
I'll tell you what, I went into this place expecting a run-of-the-mill soul food joint, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was mistaken. This restaurant offered a modern ambience, good food, and service unlike any other I've ever had (more on that later). However, before I start talking about how good the overall experience was (and it truly was a nice time), I feel obligated to get my gripes out of the way first. I was part of a party of ten when I dined here. I understand that this is a larger sized group than average, and if we had to wait a couple of minutes, I would have understood. However, if I recall correctly, we waited roughly twenty or so minutes before we were seated. The reason for the wait, so we were told by a hostess, was because there was only one chef working that day and they didn't want to overwhelm him with orders.I suppose there's nothing wrong with that in and of itself - I've heard horror stories of all-night diners working people literally all night and then some, so it's nice to hear a place that actually values its employees. I suppose that the problem was not with the chef themselves, but rather the fact that there was only one chef cooking that day. I assume this is not usually the case, and I'll stop talking about the issue, because I honestly don't know about the issue, and I'm worried that speculating about the issue further would lead to a discussion about scheduling, which would lead to a discussion about understaffing, which would lead to a discussion about hiring practices, which would ultimately lead to a discussion about the ethics of capitalism, which I think we can all agree is a bit too heavy for a Yelp review. It's a slippery slope, folks.(Please note I'm not accusing Annie O's of anything listed above - I just found it strange there was only one chef there for such a busy place.)Anyway, after we were finally seated, we were introduced to Roby. Now, let me tell you a little bit about my man Roby over here. The first ten minutes you spend with him will change your life forever. This guy knows everything there is to possibly know about Annie O's, and by the end of the day, you'll know everything too. If Jeopardy was solely about Annie O's Kitchen, Roby would be the new Ken Jennings. It's honestly unbelievable. The service that I received from Roby was, I can say whole-heartedly, unlike any other I've received at any other restaurant. For example, I have a lemon allergy, and I ordered the fried catfish, which usually comes with a cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. I was informed that both were made with lemon. Do you know what Roby did for me? He went and he got me a cup of horseradish sauce and a bottle of ketchup so I could make my own cocktail sauce and not have to eat my fish plain. What a guy! I think at any other restaurant, they would have just said "sorry" and left it at that. This guy was kind, respectful, and above all else, very informative. However, it is with the utmost regret that I have to say that my meal wasn't that great. To be fair, though, it was fried fish - it's almost universally kind of oily and gross, no matter who makes it. Really, it was more my fault for ordering it than their fault for preparing it the way they did. But, fear not - my experience was not the norm. Everybody else lived their meals. In fact, I sampled the hot Nashville chicken and the chicken tenders (two of my fellow diners didn't finish their meals), and those were excellent. Plus, the deserts were incredible, especially the banana pudding. I'd highly recommend ordering anything off the menu (save for the fish, of course).TL;DR - It's good overall, but you might have a long wait if you're with a big party, and you should maybe not order the fish. However, look forward to remarkable service and a great meal. More...
We had no problem getting seated on Tuesday night. Great ambiance and accurate description of farm to table dining. After round of tasty appetizers including fried green tomatoes w/ Cajun shrimp, kicked up farm fresh deviled eggs we enjoyed entrees of grouper w green beans and mashed sweets,Nashville Fried Chicken, shrimp and grits and Salmon with salad. The grits were a little watery but other than that solid dinner. We ordered key lime pie, strawberry shortcake, bourbon flavored desert ALL delicious. Great selection of craft beers. Good dining experience all around. The ingredients DO matter More...
Best fried chicken - the Nashville spicy chicken was delicious. The grilled cheese "was better than yours, Mom!" Atmosphere is great; our waitress, Rose was funny, personable and made good recommendations on the menu. Bartender made up a drink for me that was delicious. More...
We were looking for a good place to eat dinner with no wait time for 6 at a reasonable price. This place was a great fit! To drink, I ordered a watermelon sweet tea . Although I didn't really think it tasted like watermelon, it was delicious and the perfect amount of sweet. For starters we ordered the jalapeño pimento cheese and the deviled eggs. The chips served with the pimento cheese paired well for a great appetizer. For my main course, I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was absolutely delicious. It had chopped up bacon in it and a generous amount of shrimp. Among our group we also ordered the fried chicken, hot fried chicken, fried catfish, and the pork butt. The only dish I would not recommend was the pork butt because it was a bit dry. The other three tasted great! We had an issue with one piece of chicken being a little undercooked, which they quickly took care of. Each dish came with a side, so overall we had sweet mashed potatoes, green beans, and the chopped salad. The sweet mashed potatoes were the best, but all were good! The meal also came with a biscuit which was tasty. The hostess was very friendly and helpful!! She talked to us multiple times throughout our meal and even suggested some activities we should do during our vacation. More...
Delicious fried shrimp and fried chicken. Desserts are amazing too. Our server knew the menu and was extremely helpful. Will definitely revisit! Loved the key lime pie
The fried chicken wings and fried green tomatoes were excellent! The hostess was super friendly and kind to my daughter. Robyn was a great server and answered all of our questions. Will definitely return. More...
Was looking for a place to get lunch with my wife and found this. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and our server Rose was great. She was easy to talk to and was always on top of things. The food was also pretty good. I got the fried chicken and my wife got the chicken and dumplings. Only issue was that my glass was dirty, but that was easily fixed. The food is a little pricey, but certain entrees are discounted and include a drink so the price on those is not that bad. If you're looking for a good, southern restaurant with great service, I recommend Annie O's. FYI: the sodas are not from a fountain; they come in a bottle. Not an issue, it just isn't common for a sit-down restaurant. More...

This was the best meal we had all week on vacation- one of the best fried chicken dinners I've had ever. We had a party of eight seated right away right after 5:00. While we are big fans of Low Country Backyard this dinner was just as good- if not better- without the long wait. Our server Rose was great. Attentive without interrupting our meal, knowledgeable and warm. The restaurant is nicely laid out with a great aesthetic. Even the bathrooms were nice! Most of us ordered the fried chicken and it was amazing. The meatloaf and crab cakes were big hits as well. Their sides are also super fresh. Greens cooked to perfection and a side salad that puts what you get at average restaurants to shame. More...
The food on this island is amazing, so it says a lot when I say this was my favorite place to eat on our whole trip. I went back twice and would loved to have eaten here more! The fried chicken is a must and I really loved the romaine salad. For southern food there are surprisingly a lot of fresh options which I appreciated. I also enjoyed the freshness of the fried chicken wrap with ranch, cucumber, tomato, and romaine. Simple and satisfying for a day of being in the heat. This is a must visit for your trip! More...

First of all, don't let the location scare you away! We were on vacation last week on HHI and found Annie O's on Yelp. We popped it into our GPS and ended up at what looked like a store front at a quasi-strip mall on a side road. We almost got back in the car to go somewhere else but luckily we did not and had a FANTASTIC meal - one of the best of the trip! Focusing on contemporary southern cuisine, the vibe inside was fun and hip. Our waiter (who also played host) was knowledgeably, friendly and spent a good 5-10 minutes just chatting about his suggestions on the menu, what he liked, etc. As foodies and people who love local, sustainable and farm-to-table type food, this was pretty darn good. They claim to have the best fried chicken in the county and it didn't disappoint when we ordered the wing for an appetizer; neither did the fried green tomato and shrimp app. The "all natural" plates were excellent - both the pulled pork (smoked right outside), the pork chops and the crab cakes which were basically huge chunks of crab meat barely held together by breading. Good craft beer selections as well. One of the owners was there on a Friday night and had no problem chatting us up. All in all, we had a delicious experience that was great for our kids as well. It's not the place with the great outdoor seating, live music or on-the-water views but for a delicious, casual and affordable dinner experience, it couldn't be beat. More...
I cant say enough about the food and the service. I had the fried chicken and French toast with green beans. It was amazing! For desert, I had Banana Pudding with chocolate chips in a Mason Jar. The best I have ever had. I recommend both. Very cool farmhouse decor and relaxing music playing. This place is a must while on the island! More...
Went with friends last night my husband had the meatloaf and I the chicken and dumplings. Both were good. The chicken and dumplings was good but could have had a few more dumplings. This is an update to an earlier review that was less than complimentary. We had not gone back in about 6 months but decided to give them another chance to earn our business. Four of us dined there a few days ago and I am happy to report we were all pleasantly surprised with the quality, and quantity of the food and the service was great. In particular the fried chicken was excellent as was the tomato pie another had. All of us were very satisfied and were happy to see they no longer use the paper or bamboo plates. Guess we will have to add this back to our list of happy places. Glad to see the changes....We will return More...

This place is a hidden gem here on HHI. The menu is fresh and fun. They have something for everyone. My husband and I read reviews on how great the fried chicken was, and it did not disappoint. It was crisp and delicious with a hint of heat. We are definitely putting this on our list of must eat restaurants for our next visit. The only critique I would have is the prices of regular drinks (coke, tea) were a bit on the high side at $3.25 each, which is odd considering I found the rest of the menu to be reasonably priced. However, the food was really really great! We will be back for sure. More...
My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Annie O's. The restaurant was recently purchased by the new owners and they have remodeled the interior and revamped the menu. We loved the creative menu that allows for lots of great combinations to fit your taste. We also really value a restaurant that serves organic fresh food that is both healthy and delicious. The service was excellent. I had the crab cakes and they were delicious without lots of filler. My husband had the pork tenderloin and it was juicy with sweet potato and slaw for sides. We topped it off with dessert which we rarely have but organic blackberry truffle was just too hard to resist. Bethany and her husband are the owners and they have really come up with a unique menu! We would highly recommend it! More...
We started with fresh watermelon tea; all I can say is delish. The southern fried chicken was served steaming hot and not greasy almost a half if chicken with a quinoa salad with fresh beets.
