waiter was super nice, gave us free topo chico's due to the fact that there was a wait (there wasn't a long wait at all, in fact food came out pretty speedy.) the sitting area was well lit and very well designed, and they had a screen (or glass?) barrier that kept from flies getting in which i loved! i had the chicken AC Tacos which were a dream. the sauce on the tacos were great and the quality of the chicken was stellar. later on we had a dessert - a brownie with red wine ice cream and walnuts on top. it was awesome! if i'm back in marfa i would definitely come back. I ate here in January and I still can't stop thinking about it! This place is amazing. Honestly some of the best food I've ever had and the bread was especially delicious. Everyone who works here is warm and welcoming. Went back twice in a row just to order the exact same things again! Can't wait till I get to go here again. More...

We always take our visitors to Al Campo, not just for the outstanding atmosphere and warm friendly owners but for the outstanding food and wine.  This time we had the octopus, beet salad, queso, chicken tacos and steak plus beer and wine.  The octopus came with the most outstanding potato salad I have ever eaten - how they made potato salad so fresh and light I will never know (unless I sneak into the kitchen and watch them make it).  I even brought some home so I could have it the next day.  Anyway, we all enjoyed our evening at Al Campo.  It is always our crowd pleaser place to go. Stopped in to Marfa on a road trip thru the Southwest. Read about Al Campo and something about queso and figured I needed to check it out. Mild cayenne seasoned chips, sausage queso and a glass of sauvignon blanc.... perfection. All the flavors were perfectly matched and the wine was subtle and a delicious pairing with the meal. It's definitely a lot of food but for a meal that was barely $30 (including 2 glasses of wine), it was super affordable.  The staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. And the whole vibe is just damn cool.  Thank you Al Campo Crew!! More...

The pork tacos will change your life! Clearly all the food at Al Campo is prepared with time, thoughtfulness, and love. Tatanka (the owner) welcomes every guest with warmth and hospitality. The statement "You're home" is displayed in many places throughout this sanctuary like outdoor cantina and truly you do feel at home the moment you walk through the doorway. I want to come back to Marfa specifically to eat those pork tacos, can't wait to come back!! More...

If I lived here, I would be here all the time drinking wine, eating queso, and writing. The place is artsy and beautiful, lots of different spaces to be inside or outside. There's also free flavored waters and really great service. I wish I had more to say about it but it's a place where you'll just feel it when you go. More...

This place was my favorite part of my Marfa weekend. The ambience is worth spending a few hours: succulents galore, hammocks, fans, music, and friendly people. Then there's the delicious wine & food! I recommend the cheese board, a bit pricey but worth it with the variety of goodies that's served. More...

An absolute delight, this place surprised us with lovely, attentive service from the family-run staff who treated us as relatives. Food is top notch, cooked and seasoned in all the right ways. If you like spending a little extra for an authentic experience, Al Campo is probably for you. More...

We had our post-wedding meal at Al Campo. Tatanka and his staff provided us with the most beautiful food, service, and friendliness! We felt as if we were dining with close friends. The food was SPECTACULAR, the ambiance was perfect & intimate, and planning this event from Austin was a breeze thanks to their wonderful communication and attention to detail. We'll definitely be back! More...

Went here with a large group after calling ahead, the owner set us up with a great table for all 14 of us and had it ready when we arrived. Then the owner proceeded to recommend what we order, everything he suggested was amazing, probably some of the best food most of us have ever had, it all came out super fast as well. I would highly recommend the potatoes, the beets and cauliflower salad, and the smoked chicken. Thanks so much Al Campo for a great experience for the entire group, we loved the meal! Definitely go if you're ever in Marfa. More...

Ate here again today with my wife and two kids. Perfection. Just a great spot on earth here in Marfa. Food, drink, and atmosphere all wonderful. End of meal the owner sent us dessert and said, "This is your backyard." The highlight of our week here in Marfa was dinner here this evening. More...

AMAZING food and service. We went twice, it was the best for both late afternoon snack and full meal. Everything was delicious (including fresh vegetables!), the staff were wonderful, and the owner made a point of getting to know us, which we much enjoyed! 10/10 would recommend and return! More...

One of the most professional and polite establishments in Marfa so far - surpassingly greater than some of the established so far.

Recently spent three days in Marfa- we ate here twice, it was that good. There is an abundance of love and kindness in the atmosphere and the food. Tatanka and Lauren welcomed us like family....not a concept owned by groups in Austin or Houston - real, authentic and delicious. Run by family, treated like family. There is NO bad choice on this menu - all selected with great care and presented with passion. From here forward, this will be our first, and last stop in Marfa. More...

We decided to visit this place on short notice. After having a few beers at planet Marfa we walked down to Al Campo. They have a great wine selection along with a pretty large appetizer menu. The atmosphere was relaxed, and one can almost say that it was artistic. It felt like everything flowed well at the restaurant. The owner came out regularly to check on us, and to see how we were doing.  We were there for a long time. I would definitely go back again. More...

Stopped in to have a drink and loved this place. Super nice folks, Lauren will take great care of you. I can't wait to get back. The ambience is fun, with a good mix of people. I had the queso which was amazing. Get that and a Tejas Clara or a Sol and kick back and enjoy Marfa. More...

I was here late April and am still thinking about Al Campo every day! My partner and I celebrated our two year anniversary in Marfa and got dinner here the night of. Our server (Caleb) was so attentive and kind. He said he was new to the area but gave us recommendations on things to check out. I got a glass of rosè, and my partner had a few local beers. We ordered the cauliflower tacos and absolutely loved them. Al Campo is decorated beautifully and everyone we encountered was warm. We chatted with a few other people who were enjoying the garden. I'm hoping we visit Marfa again so we can return. Definitely my favorite place we visited :) More...

Reasons I loved Al Campo:-The best kind of backyard vibe-Live music-Short menu (the kind where you know everything is so excellent they just don't need to offer more)-Food is fresh, healthy, creative, colorful and SO TASTY-Regular patrons include locals-The owner is present, in every sense of the word

My fiancé and I were just in Marfa this past week. I would have to say this place was hands down my favorite food/atmosphere. I order a bottle of sparkling Rose for the table and the Shrooms app. The Shrooms were cooked absolutely PERFECT, I cannot begin to even try and find one issue with them. The two gentlemen who were working that evening, who I think might have been the owners.....you could just tell how proud and excited they are about this beautiful place they've created. I will definitely be going back the next time I visit Marfa! :) More...

I had a great time here tonight with my family. The wines were great and the atmosphere was awesome-beautiful patio and decorations. I LOVED the cauliflower tacos. My husband and parents didn't seem to love it quite as much, and commented that the menu was a bit limited. I would have rated this as 5 stars, but did find it a bit pricey. For example, my husband got the cauliflower side dish, and while it was very good, it was $11 and not very big. If prices were a bit lower and a bit more options on the menu, I'd give this one 5 stars :) More...

Such a funky and chill place in Marfa. The beer garden is filled with an eclectic mix of chairs, tables, lights and is very dog friendly. In cooler weather, they will make a fire in several fire pits.   They have a sizable drink menu with a smaller food menu. Ordered the chicken tacos and roasted turmeric cauliflower.  Both were outstanding!  There is also seating inside a screened porch and inside by the bar. Very friendly staff. More...

Feeling very fortunate to have found this wonderful restaurant for dinner on a Thursday night while visiting Marfa. We were greeted warmly by the owner and staff upon arrival. It was cold so we ate inside the cozy wine bar inside, but admired the beautiful outdoor wine garden for another visit in warmer weather!  The truffle cauli soup (vegan) was creamy and delicious (no dairy!) and the owner even brought me a taste of the other soup which was a veggie broth soup with fresh ginger - omg so good. The tacos are fresh and delicious, and my family really enjoyed the fabulous (homemade, had to be) chips & Asiago queso. Delicious selection of wines by the glass - I had the Spanish blend. Highly recommend this place for a happy evening out. More...

This is the best food in the Trans Pecos. Everything about this place is phenomenal. The food, the people, the space. You will NOT be disappointed if you eat here. What a great little place for lunch!  We ordered the tacos and a bowl of the queso (which was amazing) along with a bottle of wine, recommended by the helpful and friendly team which took our order.  Beautiful way to spend an afternoon, just relaxing, eating and drinking outside in their little patio area.  A favorite in Marfa! First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE! Katie is the chef at Al Campo and my husband and I are both very happy she was born... because the food we ate was simply sublime. We had gotten a recommendation from a local Marfa gal earlier in the day that Al Campo had the best queso. Only hours earlier my sister had told me that chipotle unveiled queso so the craving was already pretty real at that point. We ventured in and the team there was so fun and awesome. We ordered almost everything on the menu and it was so good that it's hard to decide what was the best. But ok we accept the challenge. GET THE TACOS! And the queso! And the shiitake mushrooms! And the cauliflower! And the creamed corn! And the patatas bravas! What a true marfa gem. Keep it up you guys! We can't wait to be back (likely tomorrow). More...

Walked past this place after having a fantastic breakfast at Do your thing coffee... it looked super cute & location was convenient to our hotel. They are pet friendly & open for lunch.  Loved the quaint atmosphere and large eclectic courtyard / garden.  The food was fantastic too!
