If you need a DJ/MC for your wedding, Young is the man! He is such a fun and energetic person and he really knows how to get the crowd going. The dance floor was poppin' the whole night. The music transitions were so smooth, never awkward. His sound equipment were great him knowing the venue was a plus since we never even noticed the equipment through the night. Every speech was clear. I know that I am on the quiet side but the microphone he attached was able to pick up my voice. From the beginning of the vendor process, he was quick to communicate and always so thorough with any explanations. We decided to book Twin Spin as our DJ and for a Photobooth DJ 4.5/5 We recently had our wedding and decided to hire Twin Spin Entertainment, which came recommended by our venue. While the owner, Young, was already booked, he introduced us to James, one of his experienced DJs. Our initial meeting with James went smoothly, and we felt confident moving forward with him and Twin Spin. The booking process was straightforward and easily managed through their website's client portal. The client portal also had very thorough questions such as laying out the specific songs for our ceremony, grand entrance, and first dance, etc. The client portal was also how we communicated which songs were on our do-not-play list, ceremony, dinner, and dancing. James arrived early to have everything set up and by the time our ceremony rolled around everything and everyone was ready to go. James did a great job both as an MC and DJ. While there were a couple of minor hiccups with timeline and announcements, he handled them well, keeping the flow of the event smooth. Since we had a lot of our older Asian guests, the dance floor wasn't always packed, but we appreciated how James kept the energy up and mixed the music to appeal to everyone. The sound quality was great, and there were no major technical issues. All the microphones, speakers, and lights worked perfectly. Overall, we were very happy with Twin Spin and James, and we would definitely recommend them for any wedding or special event! Photobooth 4.5/5 We knew we wanted to have a photobooth in our August 2024 wedding as it's always a fun activity having attended previous weddings. Twin Spin offered this option along with their DJ services, and we selected them knowing that it would streamline and alleviate working with multiple vendors. We found their pricing reasonable after comparing other photobooth vendors. On the day of our wedding, the photobooth attendant came early to setup. She wrapped up early and our start and end time was 6-10pm which was a bit early than the original 6:30-10:30pm time. Overall the attendant was cordial and assisted our guests during use. There were slight miscommunications regarding meal and setup time, but otherwise our expectations were met. Twin Spin was able to explain and clarify this miscommunication and we provided feedback for communication for future clients. My husband and I hired Twin Spin Entertainment to DJ and MC our wedding last month. We did not have the opportunity to work with Young, but we had DJ TN (Thien) who did a great job! The process is really organized. You reach out to them to inquire whether they have availability and then Young will match you with a DJ. You set up an appointment to meet your DJ to see if you feel like you are a match. They have a website with a client portal where you can fill in all sorts of details, which you will go over the week before your wedding. DJ TN helped us stay on track and made announcements to our guests as needed throughout the night. We got married at Casa Bella and due to the venue had limited options. We ended up booking Young to do our wedding due to his experience. He was great at responding to emails but when it came closer to the wedding, it wasn't as great of an experience. When it came to his final meeting, his portal didn't have exactly what we had going on and when we met with him he seemed to rush the call and respond with "yeah I know what you're talking about" and moved on when we tried to explain. It just felt like we were a box he needed to check off. Day of, when he arrived it almost seemed I was in his way. Like when I was doing photos and walking through the door, he was trying to get in, I didn't even get an excuse me or personable experience with him. Then day of, our officiant didn't have the best interaction with Young and his son (his son who was his assistant?). He approached our officiant claiming he had been looking all over for him and he was in the ceremony site the whole time. Then when it came to our ceremony, the music was sloppy. He didn't queue my (the brides) walk in correctly, I gave him the start time and it sounded like he started the music then jumped to the time. Way sloppy for a professional. Then, when it came to bridal party entrances, the music again was sloppy. Points weren't started where we asked, delay in music after announcing groups. We even had a few guests share they thought it was sloppy. Lastly, my bridesmaid had an extremely poor interaction. She requested a song saying it was my (the brides) favorite song and she shared Young was stand off ish and was like I'll see if I can with the vibe. WHO CARED ABOUT THE VIBE, ITS THE BRIDE AND GROOMS DAY! It took a second bridesmaid who had to CONVINCE him to play a song for the bride. This made me so mad to hear! You're in the service industry, my bridesmaids weren't jerks about it but he seemed to fight their requests. Overall, he was ok. Not a personable person despite being in the wedding industry. My husband is super into music and this was important. It sucks that the queues were delayed and we had guests that didn't have th best experience. Young Cho (DJ Twin Spin) is THE BEST DJ and EMCEE EVER! Hiring Young as your DJ was 100% worth it. He made my wedding fun, engaging, and just went above and beyond with his service. When I first reached out to him, I was so glad he gave me a call to thoroughly go through what I would get if I were to book him and he emphasized on quality. That was exactly what we received and it's something no one should skip out on for their wedding. Not to mention, I hired Young last minute (5 days before my wedding) as my original DJ bailed. This was such a blessing in disguise because out of all DJs I have experienced at other weddings, Young is by far the best. We also had an in-depth video call on how the day would go and pointed out all the things I wanted. He is organized, attentive, professional, and trustworthy. Twin spin entertainment is the best! Young was a great MC and DJ, and his services are very professional and organized. We got the ceremony and reception package as well as our custom monogram. He played all the songs we wanted to hear, I only wish we had more time at the venue! Our venue was Casa Real, and he's a preferred vendor there. It's easy to see why! I first reached out and we scheduled a zoom consultation to see what we wanted for our services. Then he sent over pricing and information, and we paid the deposit. A few months later we got a link to add more information about our wedding, and then links to our Spotify playlists for prelude, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. Then about 3 weeks out he scheduled a final meeting to go over the details. We realized that our first dance song needed to be edited, so he did it quickly 3 days before the wedding! I used DJ Twin Spin for two things: 1. Corporate party DJ 2. Creating a mix for my wedding. Corporate party: I was referred to DJ Twin Spin by a friend. My friend used him for his wedding and was speaking very highly of DJ Twin Spin, so I looked into what he was all about on his website. I reached out to DJ Twin Spin and was really surprised by how much was included in his fee: lighting, set-up, DJ, and being an MC. I thought everything was reasonably priced! On the day of the event, he came a few hours earlier to set-up. When the party started, he knew how to read the room, so he started off with vibey music and as the night went on, he played hard hitting music which everyone loved. I've received a lot of compliments about the DJ and we definitely would use him again. Wedding mix: I reached out to DJ Twin Spin asking him to make me a quick mix of 3 songs. We can't say enough incredible things about Young Cho, also known as DJ Twin Spin, and Twin Spin Entertainment. From the start to the very end, DJ Twin Spin made everything smooth with his prompt communication, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Every meeting was organized and we really liked the client portal to communicate with specific details and requests. As we all know, a DJ has a major role in the success of your wedding reception and in our case, our ceremony as well. DJ Twin Spin orchestrated the flow and the details of the entire itinerary in coordination with our wedding planner with such ease. Not to mention the amount of energy and interaction he engaged with our guests as our MC, truly remarkable. He was incredibly enthusiastic from the beginning to the the end. Twin Spin Entertainment also provided us with a custom monogram, photo booth, and photo wall. There were so many great options to choose from the monograms that you can't go wrong with any of them. The photo booth was the second highlight of the wedding reception (first highlight was obviously the bride and groom). My guests are still raving and ranting about how much they loved the photo booth and were able to take a little souvenir from the evening. You can take unlimited pictures and use props to your hearts content. I would also highly recommend the photo wall. You and your guests get to text any picture to the DJ to be displayed on the photo wall. Our guests posted pictures that included the wedding day but a good amount of past memorable moments were also posted. You can also text your song requests to the DJ. We booked DJ Twin Spin, aka Young, to be our DJ & MC at our wedding reception in early October 2021 and it was a great hire! We were asking our venue and friends for recommendations because vendors for Fall 2021 were getting booked up super quickly. We had postponed our Fall 2020 celebration by a year but didn't start looking for DJ/MC vendors until Summer 2021. Young was recommended by a friend because he was on her shortlist of DJs for her own wedding a couple years ago. If you're ever unsure of who to book, ask around for recs! During our initial phone consultation, Young was very friendly and we got really good vibes from him. He also offered a lot of advice to make our reception run smoothly even though we didn't even book him yet, such as double-checking if our photographer had a second shooter to ensure that all aspects of our event were captured and giving some timeline suggestions for us. Young even sent over an invitation to watch him do some livestream DJing on his Twitch channel so we can get a sense of how he works. I thought this went above and beyond from vendors typically saying "look at my reviews" when you ask for references from past clients. Young didn't pressure us to book with him and let us have a soft hold on our date, and said he'd let us know if he got another inquiry for our date. Even though Young hasn't worked at our venue before, my husband and I felt good booking him. Later we found out that he's worked with our event coordinator before (we hired the coordinator after booking Young) so we were happy knowing that he's worked with at least one of our vendors before. He also offered a package deal with a photo booth vendor so we also booked that through him. Leading up to the event, Young connected us with the photo booth vendor to set up our custom background, layout, and captions. He also reviewed the timeline and floor plan we created with our coordinator. He double-checked our song lists to make sure he had the correct songs for the various events on our timeline. He even customized our first dance song to a shorter version so we wouldn't have to be up dancing for too long. On the day of the event Young and his staff showed up on time to set things up. Even though it was his first time at our venue (Los Altos History Museum), things seemed to be set up seamlessly and I didn't hear of any issues from our venue or coordinator. We only had to chat briefly at the beginning of our event with Young and our coordinator to figure out the final dance floor location (we thought we'd keep things outside for COVID safety but the outdoor decibel limit set by the City of Los Altos was pretty low for dancing, so we decided we were comfortable with having dancing indoors since all of our eligible guests were fully vaccinated. There weren't any major logistical challenges to overcome aside from where to put the speaker system). There was also a minor mix-up at the beginning with the order he introduced folks for speeches/toasts but that was corrected quickly with a funny joke so our guests couldn't really tell that something was off. He followed our timeline/notes pretty closely for the remainder of our event. Many of our guests said they loved Young's energy! He kept the crowds laughing and guided them to where they needed to be while sticking to our timeline (getting people to start sitting down at the beginning of dinner, getting people to gather for the cake cutting and watching our first dance, and moving people inside to the dance floor). Our guests also loved the photo booth and how there were unlimited prints and fun props to use. Young saved our wedding and we cannot thank him enough. About 10 minutes before our ceremony was supposed to start, I found out that our original DJ got his dates mixed up and was a no-show. When trying to think of alternatives, our photographer recommended Young, who happened to be free the evening of our wedding and showed up within an hour or so of us contacting him. Without any preparation and simply using a form we used for my previous DJ, he was the perfect emcee and DJ. We had so many details set out for our original DJ, and Young did a great job in keeping with our music preferences and having all of the music we wanted for our specialty dances. Young was an amazing DJ/emcee for our wedding on June 18th at Casa Bella! Our family and friends cannot stop talking about how fun the wedding was and how much they loved the DJ. The dance floor was packed all night because Young read the crowd so well. We also added the Photo Wall service which was a huge hit! Guests could send photos of the wedding and see them up on the screen throughout the night. The pictures were then shared with me a few days after the wedding which was so much fun to look through!!We had to postpone our wedding from 2020 to 2021 and Young made the process so easy for us! Where do I begin???? First off, sooooooooooooo sorry this is such a late review (my wedding was this past 8/8/19), but long story short, Young was GREAT! Â He understood the music and the mood that my husband and I wanted for our wedding and he NAILED IT! He knew how to engage the crowd which was very important to us. Â It was a bummer that the venue basically kicked us out an hour earlier than anticipated, but nonetheless he definitely made our wedding the fun wedding we wanted it to be. Young was the DJ for our wedding in September 2019. Â I initially picked him because his prices were reasonable and he is one of the few DJs that actually posts videos of himself working at weddings. Â I felt much more comfortable picking someone who I could see in action rather than someone who didn't have a portfolio of work they could share. Â Young had a comprehensive online form to fill out to gather all the necessary information and then had a final planning meeting a few days before the wedding to go over everything. Young was such an amazing and energetic DJ during our wedding. He was recommended to us by a friend who also used him for his wedding. Once we reached out to Young and let him know that our wedding was at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, he let us know that he's done plenty of weddings there and was already familiar with our venue, which was even better! Prior to the wedding, Young had asked us to put together a few playlists so that he could get a sense of our music style. During the processional and cocktail hour, Young played the music from our playlists, but once we got to the dance portion of the night, he started to cater to crowd. He took music requests all night and played songs he knew would keep the dance floor packed. The dance floor was completely filled the entire night and everyone had such an awesome time dancing!Young was also super entertaining as an emcee. Response Time: Same Day Response DJ Young Cho was such an amazing DJ and MC! Prior to wedding: He provided a website for us to fill in all of our information. This includes information on the day of schedule, what he needed to announce, a do not play list, and everything you could possibly think of. The music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception consists of a spotify play list that you create. The dancing music is a list of songs that you provide him (which he will mix live). All of the requirements are made clear on the website. He also reviewed the entire schedule and details of the wedding the week prior. He was also available the entire time prior to the wedding to answer all of my questions. It was so reassuring to get such a thorough and quick response. Day of: He came to the wedding venue a couple of hours to setup for the wedding. He also wore our wedding colors, which was so thoughtful! Ceremony: He set up the officiant and groom with mics for the ceremony (I was not mic'd up for the ceremony). I had a few concerns because I previously had a hard time hearing other brides at their weddings with this setup, but this definitely was not a problem with DJ Young! All 210 guests had no problem hearing the vows and were so impressed with the setup! Reception/Cocktail hour: DJ/MC Young did such an amazing job with informing the crowd of the next event during the entire night. He was very good at keeping with the schedule and was very accommodating when we wanted to switch a couple of things around. He was extremely engaging with the guests and very professional! Dancing: There was not a single moment were the dance floor was empty! The entire crowd danced the entire night! How the songs played, and how they mixed together was absolutely flawless! We never felt like there was an awkward bpm change, or weird songs that got thrown into the mix. We played Hip Hop at the wedding, and he somehow incorporated Elvis (per father of groom request) and made it work! DJ Young knows exactly what he's doing and how to keep the crowd hyped! Young was our DJ and MC last weekend for our wedding! We interviewed 4-5 DJs and Young was by far our top pick. He is super professional, friendly, and accommodating. He also recommended lighting and photobooth services that we used, which made it easier to work through one vendor rather than 3. We really noticed that Young took the extra care and effort to make sure our wedding was up to his high standards because he is a perfectionist, but in the best way possible! For instance, things don't go perfectly and there was an electrical issue that caused half of our string lights to not work. I have full confidence that Young did everything in his power to fix it, and when nothing could be done, he issued us a full refund for the lighting. He also is a quick thinker and used extra uplights from his truck to light the trees and some bushes when the sun set. He truly is a person who believes in standing behind his product and service. Young has been doing this a long time and definitely knows what he is doing. He has a DJ portal which made the planning very seamless and easy, where we can upload our spotify playlists. He was a great MC and made sure the guests knew what was happening next. I was especially impressed with his DJ skills and he was able to play some of our must play list even though we were running behind schedule due to pictures. My wife and I got married mid July in Sunol, CA and DJ Twin Spin was one of the recommended vendors. We are extremely happy with him because a DJ could really make or break your wedding. Mr Cho was very professional and responsive, which we loved. He responded to emails/texts within hours or a day. There were several songs we picked for our procession and first dances that were too long and he was nice enough to cut and fade them out at a good point and time. Weeks before the wedding he followed up and helped finalize the timeline which helped us visualize our entire day. Although our timeline was very tight, he never made us feel rushed. He always went with our flow. His enthusiasm and charisma made him the perfect MC for our wedding because he was able to rile up the crowd, got everyone standing, partying and joining in on the fun. Need a DJ? Need a MC? Twin Spin Entertainment is the perfect pick!We met Young at one of our friend's wedding and knew we needed to have him for our own wedding. Young was professional yet friendly and you could tell he knows what he's doing. He was able to control the crowd and let them know what was happening (i.e. food is being served, bouquet toss, open bar, etc.). We had a couple of meetings before the wedding just to make sure we were on the same page. From our very first interaction with Young over the phone, we knew he would be a great fit for our vendor team. He is charismatic, detail oriented, organized, and personable. Many of my friends who have gotten married in the past met their DJ on their wedding night. Young however, operates on another level. He likes to get to know his couples and get a vision on how the night will look way before the big day. With only a few days notice, he even took the time out of his busy schedule to meet us at our venue to go over the layout/design of the reception (Paradise Ballroom, Fremont CA). This was something that we really appreciated from Young since we live in Las Vegas and couldn't make too many trips back to the bay. Â Planning a "destination wedding" in the bay area was no easy task but hiring Young put us at ease. In fact, he even referred us our wedding coordinator, Justina Luong (who was also fantastic), and took some of the pressure off of planning our large scale wedding. We had over 340 guests at our wedding and Young knew how to cater to both the older and younger crowds. Young Cho was an awesome DJ and MC for my wedding! My wife and I wanted to find a DJ who was both flexible and entertaining, and we are very happy we chose Twin Spin. To start with, Young is super friendly and easy to talk to. While searching for DJs, he was very helpful and patient enough to answer all of my questions. We also appreciated how simple Twin Spin's online portal was for providing details about our wedding day. At our consultation, it was pretty easy to go over our wedding details with Young and customize how we wanted the wedding to be MC'd.We wanted to make a personal imprint on the music played at our wedding, so it was also nice that we were able to make Spotify playlists for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner and share them with Young.At our wedding, Young showed up very early to make sure that the sound systems were set up in a timely manner. His quotes were reasonable but I mainly selected him because communication felt so easeful and I felt like he "got" what we were asking for. Young is as good as it gets! Music is everything to my husband and I and when Young DJ'd our friend's wedding and had everyone tearing up the dance floor, we knew had to have him for our wedding as well. We inquired with other DJs just to explore our options but we kept coming back to Young. He stood out for being extremely friendly and responsive. Young doesn't just push play, he is a true and authentic DJ. He knows how to read a crowd and seamlessly mix songs that'll get everybody hyped! Leading up the wedding, Young was super responsive and extremely easy to work with. He made multiple edits of songs for our processional and first dance. We were picky about how the edits were to be made but Young knew exactly was he was doing and returned seamless edits with quick turnaround time. We had several conference calls prior to the wedding he made suggestions for our timeline, ensured we had the appropriate equipment for all portions of the wedding, and covered all bases and details. So Young is the Shizz. Â I actually found Young through my brother. Â My brother got married at SF City hall in March of 2016. Â He rented out the entire rotunda. For those who don't know, that space is incredibly tricky to work with, not just as a result of the architecture and the strict limitations of this historic building, but for acoustic reasons as well! We hired Young to be the DJ and MC of our wedding last weekend on 6/18/16. He was actually the second DJ we found. The first DJ we wanted was very slow to send a contract over for review (I waited a month! ) so we posted on Thumbtack that we were looking for a DJ and Young responded. And we are so happy we hired him. He was super responsive to emails and when we asked him to shorten our first dance song by cutting out the first verse, he made the end result sound seamless. So many of our guests came up to us during our wedding and told us how much they loved our DJ. We told him we didn't want the music currently on the radio and that we wanted the songs we grew up hearing in the 90s and 2000s and that's exactly what he did. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
It's all about reading the crowd! Being able to read a crowd well is a skill that can not be taught. It's a skill that can only be learned through years and years of experience, playing for different types of audiences and different types of events. As a professional DJ, the skill of reading a crowd well is the most important element in keeping a dance floor packed all night. You need to know how to understand demographics well and know what songs work and don't work and knowing when to play the song at the right moment.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
One word describes my style...versatile! I started DJing in the era when DJs had to know how to mix any and every style of music in order to get booked. This is a strong skill set that I've been able to master over my years as a professional DJ so I can definitely say that I am a true open format DJ. I mix anything and everything ranging from Pop, Hip Hop, Rock, Disco, Top 40, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Latin, Bollywood, Persian, EDM, Dance, and more. My style is, I play what people want to hear and dance to. I play for my audience to keep them dancing and moving. I play music that is familiar to the masses and gets them on the dance floor. Even in a non dance environment, I'll play good music they can listen and vibe to while at an event while again keeping with the "familiar music" theme so that they identify the songs they hear.
What do you love most about your job?
Every event is always different from each other. No two events are ever the same which makes my job extremely interesting but also extremely challenging at times. I work with different clientele for every event. One day it's a wedding, the next it's a fortune 500 tech company, the next it's a high school dance. It's always different and unique which I absolutely love!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started DJing at the young age of 15 years old and my passion for music and the art of DJing has kept me going every since. Starting my own DJ and Event Production company just came naturally to me after realizing that was where my true passion was. Throughout my life, I've worked in different industries, worked a 9 to 5 in the tech world. No matter how hard I tried, I always seem to come back to my my true passion which is DJing and event planning. So this business came to me naturally and I realized that it was my destiny to become a full time professional DJ and MC.
Why should our clients choose you?
Two words can explain why they should choose me...experience and service! In this digital world that we live in today, everyone and anyone can call themselves a DJ. They can go out to the nearest electronic store, go buy a laptop, buy some speakers and a mixer, download some music online and then BOOM! They think they are a DJ. This is far from the truth however. My years of experience working in this industry has exposed me to every type of environment there is when it comes to events. There are skills that DJs can only learn through time, experience and a lot of trial and error.
When someone hires me for their event, whether it's to DJ, MC, provide sound or lighting or photo booth services, they are not just getting my services alone. They are also getting a peace of mind knowing that they are working with an experienced professional who knows this industry inside and out. Being able to DJ and MC an event is just a small piece of the puzzle when you're hiring a DJ.
