How long have you been interested in magic?
My passion for performing magic started when I was five years old. By the time I was eight, I was already producing magic shows - in my mom’s garage. Tickets were 10 cents - popcorn was extra. Now, nearly a half-century later I have received numerous awards for my creative, intellectually elegant magic that incorporates elements of my career as a science teacher. I have won competitions in strolling, close-up, and stage magic. In 2016, I was named “Magician of the Year” by San Jose’s chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
What do you love most about your job?
I love watching adults regain that sense of wonder that most of us lose in our teens. My favorite Einstein quote is, "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
What inspired you to start your own business?
“If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.” I can't explain why the 5-year-old me was so drawn to magic. It's an inexplicable love. Magic has always been my passion. When I perform something truly amazing, I see grown adults with serious exteriors melt into a state of raw, enthusiastic, wonder. Just look at some of the photos of reactions on my profile. This can't be considered work.
