I had an outstanding experience with The Balanced K9 dog boarding and training service. From the moment I dropped off my 3-month-old black Labrador Retriever, I felt confident he was in excellent hands. The staff is highly skilled, caring, and clearly passionate about dogs. They provided daily communication with photos and updates, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. They even worked with my 12-year-old daughter, teaching her the commands and how to reinforce the training at home, which was incredibly helpful. My dog came home better behaved and happier. He now loves his crate, and the “place” command helps so much when I need to get ready for work! I truly appreciate the professionalism and attention to detail from The Balanced K9, and I will definitely be using them again in the future for off-leash training and other services. Highly recommend! 🐾 More...

I highly recommend Balanced K9!I sent my dog for their three-week training program, and the transformation has been amazing. She came back calm, well-behaved, and so much more obedient. The difference in her behavior is truly incredible. The team is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and clearly cares deeply about the dogs they work with. I felt completely confident leaving my dog in their hands. I couldn’t be happier with the results! More...

My family first reached out to The Balanced K-9 almost three years ago, in the winter of 2023. At the time, our one-year-old Shiba Inu had significant behavioral issues, such as resource guarding and biting. We signed him up for the eight-week program, and by the end of the training period, Pudding became more more obedient and his problems were corrected. Luciana and Chuck also taught us many tips on continuing to maintain his now-corrected behavior. His behavior was completely different, and now, almost three years later, Pudding continues to obey his commands and is very affectionate with our family. Since then, Pudding has returned to their care many times as a "Vacation Dog," so much so that we often joke that it is his second home! We are so thankful for Luciana, Chuck, and their entire team for all of their time and patience with Pudding!! More...

I adopted Atticus from what I thought was an extremely safe rescue group located in lower FF County. I took him home on a Thursday evening. Sunday morning I was rushing him to the emergency vet. He was diagnosed with Parvo. I’ve only had him for 2 days. He was so sick. He had to stay in ICU for days. Thank god they were able to save my Atticus. Unfortunately, because of the Parvo, I did not socialize him at all for at least 6 months. (His immune system) His behavior changed as he got older and bigger. The mailman, Amazon, a neighbor at the door or kids in the street playing set him off. Guarding became a real issue. Food. Neighbors on the other side of our fence. You name it, he didn’t like it and let it be known. We couldn’t have family over. He was in control and he knew it. I had never been in this position with a dog, and I have had a few, but he scared me. When he bit aggressively, the 2nd time, I was sure he (Atticus) was done. But We found you! I cannot say enough about all of you at The Balanced K-9. You truly saved my Atticus! Thank you for teaching all of us so much. We were so unsure that someone could help us when we first met with you. He has been home a month now and it is going great! He’s done a 180. We are back in control. No more outbursts with the door bell. It is incredible. It is definitely a work in progress but I am grateful that you all made that progress possible. You guys are the real deal and I would highly recommend your services!!! My home is peaceful again. Thank you. ❤️ More...

Wow, Just Wow. We couldn't walk our dog on a leash. When he was on the leash, he would go crazy trying to get away. We saw an aggressive side of our dog and thought we were "working" things out with him. This was not the case, as things became much worse and I was seriously bitten more than once. We couldn't have family or friends over and if we did, he had to be outside while we were inside. We tried crate training, he would angrily lunge at the cage door in protest. We couldn't keep him away from the front window if someone drove or walked by. We have had dogs for 30 years +. We have never had problems like these before and after being bitten, we contemplated euthanizing him. As a last effort, we decided to check into training and let a professional tell us what we should do. We found The Balanced K9. We met with the owner and talked about the issues we were having. Everything was explained in detail. We felt comfortable with Chuck and his team so we signed on the dotted line. We found out what was causing our dog to be aggressive, we were kept in the loop every step of the way, with videos and texts daily. Atticus with his fears and also his guarding of food and toys, we initially signed him up for four weeks after the four weeks the owner reached out and suggested he stay two more weeks seeing the progress we were seeing we agreed. The last week of training we were asked to meet the owner at his home and we will see Atticus at this time during this visit it was very stressful for me not knowing what to expect we sat in his living room and Atticus was on his bed and we waited for Atticus to calm down for not seeing us for several weeks he was excited after he calmed down he was allow to greet us. At this time Chuck and Diego, who I can not say enough about, took us to the Bass Pro Shop and we walked Atticus throughout the store. Now mind you there were alot of people there and also dogs. Diego asked Atticus to place and lay down. He dropped the leash and walked away and Atticus laid there until Diego asked him to brake. I was beyond shocked we couldn't believe it was the same dog we dropped off a few weeks ago. At this point we knew Atticus was coming home the next weekend. My anxiety was going through the roof remember when Atticus turned he only turned on me not my wife so him coming home I was nervous. Chuck called a said he will be at the house at 3 Diego and Chuck showed up and stayed with us for hours going through everything that we needed basically it was our training they made the transition so relaxing they went thought different scenarios with Atticus to make sure we understood everything and I can tell you now Atticus is a complete 180 degrees from the day we dropped him off i can't say enough about The Balanced K9. They are extremely caring and professional. They turned a dog that I thought he would have to be euthanized to a total well behaved k9. I highly recommend The balanced k9 to train your dogs. Chuck, you, your wife and Diego are truly amazing. Thank you for everything that you have done for Atticus and I. Diego, you my friend are truly amazing and you have a gift with your craft. The work and time thst you dedicated to Atticus, I can never thank you enough. Thank you! As of yesterday my son came by and stayed for five hours with no issues. Atticus was a star. He enters the crate with no issues. The walks are wonderful. Thank you for giving Atticus a second chance! More...

I , Cindy Raney of Cindy Raney and Team Realtors, Fairfield County CT, we want to thank you, Balanced K-9 for taking a previously unruly and disruptive dog and turning her into a dog we can take anywhere. Here she is shopping with Mom one day after returning home from your comprehensive 4 week training session. Our “doodle” is perfectly happy now to walk anywhere, pay no attention to other people or other dogs and Mom can enjoy all the compliments which really should be directed to you, Chuck, and your training with your lead trainer who guided our Coco with kindness and love into this calm state. Overjoyed is the right accolade for our feeling of new lease in Life with this wonderful animal. We highly recommend you and the training which restores order to a household and total enjoyment of a previously difficult and obstreperous little tyrant on 4 adorable legs. And sent it with the photo of me and Coco and the one at Home Goods it would be amazing. More...

My experience with The Balanced K-9 has been extraordinary. I adopted a mini schnauzer puppy which was untrained and terrorized me. He snapped, bit and was a little bully, when not scared to death of everything . I enrolled him in the three week boarding program (which was extended to four weeks), after which Sunny learned confidence and obedience .While in the program, I received many videos and constant updates. Moreover, I was given the tools to ensure that Sunny could continue his training at home. Six months after training I sent an e-mail expressing my frustration over a problem with Sunny snapping when I would attempt to put on his collar/leash and other minor issues. Chuck came to my house (which is a good hour away from the training facility) to analyze the problems, and gave me recommendations to resolve the issues. He did not charge for the visit. The problem was not with the dog, but with me, who as Sunny's overall behavior improved, became lax with training. I am happy to say, one day after Chuck's visit, and my retraining, Sunny began to accept his leash. I cannot say enough good things about The Balanced K-9, but if you are looking for an intensive, but humane training program for your dog (and you), I highly recommend the Balanced K-9. More...

We had an amazing experience with the Balanced K-9. We called for help with some in home aggression. They didn’t judge us, they took us quickly, they were in constant contact with us sending photos and videos everyday that we can use now that our boy is home. Chuck and Diego were knowledgeable, had us come for visits and training and all the things they helped us with really worked. They were the only ones to take our situation on so quickly and we could not be more thankful. We love our boy Murphy and we know they do as well!! More...

Balanced K-9 is a great place to have your dog trained. They know what they are doing. They truly care for your dog and want to make sure that the dog and you have the best possible relationship. It is most definitely worth the money as they train your dog, but even the help afterwards if there are any questions or concerns. They are friendly people and easy to talk to as well. Loved not only the door to door service, but their attention to detail. The daily videos of my 4 legged Einstein were much appreciated. Showing me the care, attention and detail they put into my dog’s CK canine education. The three week separation transformed CK from an undisciplined pup into a well rounded and obedient dog. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a Top-notch facility in the New York State area when it comes to the care, training and education of your canine companion. More...

We are so happy to have discovered the Balanced K-9 by utilizing Bark.com. We sent our rescue puppy, Wynn, to their 3 week puppy board and train program and she came back a whole new dog (but with the same wonderful personality)! We just couldn't put in the time ourselves to help her learn what it means to be a dog in an urban environment and Balanced K9 took care of all of that for us. We loved the daily videos, photos, and updates on her progress (cause we missed her a lot). On graduation day, they brought her home to us and spent several hours re-acclimating her to our home, the neighborhood, and us. They went over everything she learned and how to keep up practice and reenforce all the trainings. Almost 2 months since she has been back, Balanced K9 continues to respond to any questions we have and are available to us when new things come up. Highly recommend Chuck, Luciana, and their whole team! More...

We worked with the wonderful team at The Balanced K-9 to train our 6 month old puppy as we were struggling to walk him without him chasing after every car, squirrel or other dog that he saw. Our puppy was also chewing on our shoes and having a lot of trouble with recall. I was at first nervous about professional training impacting his sweet personality given that he is a rescue but that was not the case. Our puppy is still as sweet as ever except now I can actually walk him on my own without any pulling or chasing. The team communicated with us consistently throughout the 3 week training on our puppy’s progress and administered all necessary medications for him. They cared for him as their own and taught us that while we had the best intentions when showering our puppy with love and attention, he needed structure to be the best version of himself. We are so thankful to the team and would recommend them 10/10 times. Our puppy is even now able to walk on our treadmill on his own for over 30 minutes! This is incredibly helpful on rainy days More...

I recently had the pleasure of working with K-9 Balance for training my dog, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! The trainers at K-9 Balance are incredibly patient and kind, making both my dog and me feel at ease from the very first session. They take the time to understand each dog’s unique needs and tailor their approach accordingly, which really shows their dedication and expertise. The Balanced K-9 were a pleasure to work with! We have a 6 year old rescue blue nose pit named Nala. Nala came to us with the basic training instilled but with an entire lack of socialization and some intense reactivity both on and off leash with dogs and humans alike. We found them off of a thumbtack search and are so very happy we made the call. Nala spent 7 days under the care of their team and came home to us as the same sweet dog without all of the baggage! We can now enjoy company in our home without her guarding incessantly, walk leisurely and with full control under any situation, and a lot more. What we have learned from The Balanced K-9 team is how to communicate with our dog and have a better quality of life because of it. Training and bonding with your dog is a lifetime commitment but the Balanced K-9 team will kickstart that and help you get through any and all barriers that you may be experiencing. We were hesitant to send off our dog for the first time, but truly could not have made a better choice for our family. More...
