Tasty Sounds ended up being one of the best decisions we made for our daughter’s bat mitzvah. Right away, DJ Alvis set himself apart from the other DJs we spoke with. He came across as professional, thoughtful, and creative, and after our initial conversation we felt completely comfortable choosing him. Everything about the experience was smooth and well organized. Their planning portal made it easy to share our preferences, and their team was helpful in guiding us through timelines, offering ideas, and making sure the event matched what our daughter would enjoy. Ahead of the event, DJ Alvis took the time to visit the venue in person, even though it required a long drive. That walkthrough gave us a clearer picture of how everything would come together and helped us make better decisions. The party itself was incredibly fun. Several guests mentioned how much they liked the DJ, and both kids and adults had a great time. The games were different from what we have seen at other events and kept the kids fully involved. We chose not to have a day-of coordinator, so we really appreciated how the Tasty Sounds team stepped in when small issues came up. They were easy to work with, supportive, and felt like an extension of our group. We also used their uplighting, screen and projector, and photo booth, and everything went smoothly. One conversation with him provided all the peace of mind we needed to feel comfortable choosing him.Everything about working with Tasty Sounds was smooth. They have an intuitive planning portal where you can specify your various preferences. And they work with you to align on timelines, make recommendations, and understand what your child would most enjoy.Several months in advance, even though it presented a lengthy commute, DJ Alvis was happy to visit the venue. DJ Alvis , was literally the perfect Dj for my wedding Reception. He even took on me on as a client a month before my wedding which is un heard of. We had a zoom meeting to go over the layout and songs that would suit my specific needs for my event. He not only delivered, he added more than I requested by following the quests vibes . He was patient when he was being bombarded with requests .He was amazing at improvising with unexpected turns by guests . Everyone loved him so much he was requested to stay another hour which he kindly obliged. He literally got everyone dancing . I had so many compliments saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to because of the music and environment. I’m an 80’s new wave fan and fortunately, he comes from the same era which he made it easier for him to play all the hit music of that time . Granted, it was a reception it turned more into a 80’s dance party which ultimately I wanted for this type of venue . I’m still reeling from my special day . Al and his crew dramatically exceeded my expectations at our event. He deftly handled a large group of 8th graders and 80 year olds and kept them all dancing and entertained for many hours. His organization and professionalism allowed me to enjoy the event as he kept us on track with speeches, games, and transitions. After extensive research and phone interviews with multiple DJs, I happened upon Tasty Sounds Entertainment through a recommendation of another DJ. After speaking with Al on the phone, I knew he was our DJ. We wanted music that our guests (of all generations) could enjoy and dance to. But as a husband and wife that are more into alternative & metal, we weren't sure how he was going to incorporate our style in the playlist. When I tell you that Tasty Sounds delivered, they DELIVERED! Not only was the DJ upbeat, engaging, and fun, he listened to our wants and dislikes and took everything into account. Mike was great on mixing our songs on ceremony and reception for our entrances. Mike was at venue place early to setup, understand the layout, and did a great job displaying the lights for the up lighting and specialty lighting. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Setting up the key moments correctly. You need to really pay attention to the timeline. Also you need to get the non dancers dancing first, or your party is going to suffer.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Talented Speakers who can motivate and inspire crowds without a single song, but who are masters of blending and mixing music. For example, the best Vegas style DJ who is a motivational speaker trained by Anthony Robbins... how's that?
What do you love most about your job?
Getting people to forget about the mundane existence of day to day life and to really lose themselves in the event they are at, be it a wedding, birthday party or the companies holiday party.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was a club DJ who was doing events on the side for another company, but I felt we could service the client one on one a whole lot better that the company I was working for.
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm a 10,000 hour master of my job. Most DJs have about 2,000 hours of experience. Who would you like doing surgery on you, a part time enthusiast who is pretty good with a scalpel or the pro who has seen every circumstance good or bad to make that cut? You will get a fantastic party and your outcome is 100% guaranteed.
