Imagine this...you are a College Freshman Majoring in Teaching Piano and Voice. You have students that you are teaching beginning piano on Saturday mornings. You have been teaching the same students since you were a Junior in High School. You take the bus home from college on the weekends, your father meets you at the bus station. You teach your students and dad gets you back to the bus station so you can catch the bus back to campus. I did this for four years. After graduation, in addition to teaching private lessons, I taught Public School Music for 25 years before retiring in order to help my husband run our business.

Today I have a special place in my heart for beginning piano students. I treat adult students more like a friend and child students more like a grandchild than a strict classical instructor would. I have eliminated the pressure to learn wherever possible. From the first day, my students learn to read basic music. The lessons I create are customized based on my student's interests, strengths, and ability to learn. Each student is unique. Whether they are adults working around their work schedule, gifted or special needs, each student gets my full attention. I get a great deal of joy from seeing the faces of my students light up when they accomplish a piece of music.

Intermediate-level students hold a special challenge for me. Many times, they come to me having developed bad habits or missing important musical information that could make them a better pianist. I see my role as filling the gaps that they are missing and taking them further from there.
