About

Most of the seasoned executives I work with didn't become successful by accident. It takes intelligence, hard work, resilience, and grit to build a successful career, lead others, and make difficult decisions day after day, fighting burnout and balancing work and career.

I have been working with Kim for almost a year, and my experience has been absolutely amazing. Words are not enough to express how grateful I am to be working with her. Kim has been a wonderful support in my life. She has helped me prepare for interviews and obtain my dream job. Kim is always there to listen, provide support and suggestions, and help navigate any ups and downs life and being a human brings. My schedule can be very busy, and Kim is always flexible and communicates with me to find times to meet. I would recommended her to any of my friends and colleagues. More...

Kim has been an incredible resource to my wife and me as we have navigated some difficult decisions around things like location, how to choose a home, and more. She is consistently thorough, solution-oriented, and compassionate, and always is flexible to accommodate our hectic schedules. We're looking forward to working with her more in the future as we face big life decisions! More...

Kim has completely transformed my life. I came to her as a fairly successful career woman who was feeling overwhelmed with the number of projects I was working on. Kim consistently met me where I was at, and has helped me reach my goals more efficiently and effectively than I ever thought possible. I have been working with her now for over 2 years and through all of this she has helped me navigate long-term goals, short-term conflicts, curveballs that life has sent me in my family. I have recommended numerous friends to her and all of them have told me (after several months of working with her and without prompting) how her skills and insight have transformed their lives. I could not recommend her enough. More...

Life Coaching

Hi, I would just like to let everyone know what an amazing experience I have had with North Star Coaching over the last three years. Kimberly has been incredibly helpful to me. I came to her after years of talk therapy. I realized that I wasn't getting over all the pain, loss, suffering and felt stuck discussing the same negative things from my past and not getting solutions on how to move forward. After years of trying out different therapists, I realized many lack real compassion and empathy. At times I even felt I could do a better job helping someone. I couldn't understand why someone would choose this field if they did not have these natural abilities. Those are the qualities I felt instantly from Kimberly, when I met her. I came to her completely broken and desperate. At that point I didn't think anyone could really help. I told her my story but hesitated to come see her. After a few weeks she finally persuaded me to come in. There were days when my depression would take over and I would talk about my pain and sense of betrayal but I always got some advice or hope from Kimberly to look at things in a different way. She really made me feel hopeful about life even after a lifetime of emotional abuse, betrayal and going through a divorce with a narcissist, so late in life. She gave me hope again so I could believe that there is a life after. Since Kimberly has a diverse background in business, marketing, psychology, life coaching, etc. she has truly been a godsent in my life, when I didn't know where to get help. I had absolutely no one in my life I could turn to. She helped and encouraged me to keep moving forward in my life. Eventhough some hurdles set me back where I thought I was at square one. She didn't let me give up. Kimberly has certification from Harvard University. She is a speaker and has a wealth of knowledge and experience that have helped me in every area of my life. I am so fortunate that I have found someone who has so much compassion, understanding, wisdom and intuitiveness. She has been and still is my rock and I'm counting on her to help me with all my future endeavors and life's hurdles. She has literally become the light in my life. I really don't think I would have made it through the heartbreak, the legal stuff, betrayal and pain without her. So many people have told me I am a totally different person now: confident, strong and resiliant. I feel different and learned to value myself.

If you are the type of person who needs to figure out a road map for your future, wants to get to the root of your issues, to make changes and become a better, happier and confident person, no need to look any further.💞

Q&As

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about executive coaching is working with intelligent, driven people who have already accomplished a great deal—and helping them see what is possible next.

Top performers rarely lack ambition, discipline, or ability. More often, they need the space to step outside the demands of leadership, examine what is working, and recognize what they may be too close to see on their own.

I enjoy helping clients connect the pieces, identify the patterns affecting their performance, and see the bigger picture with greater clarity. Together, we turn that insight into focused decisions, practical strategies, and meaningful action.

I understand what it feels like to carry significant responsibility while feeling stretched too thin, mentally overloaded, or uncertain about the next chapter. Success does not eliminate those challenges. Sometimes it makes them harder to acknowledge.

The moment you begin asking whether there is a better, more effective, or more fulfilling way forward, you are already challenging the status quo.

That question is not a sign that you are lost. It is often a sign that you are ready to grow.

Helping accomplished people find that next level is what makes me excited to do this work.

For much of my life, I felt like the square peg.

I was capable, creative, and driven, but I did not always fit comfortably into traditional environments. I knew I was not meant to simply follow the same path as everyone else. I needed the freedom to think independently, pursue my ideas, and work in a way that allowed me to fully use my strengths.

For a long time, I felt close to where I wanted to be—but not quite there. I had ambition and ability, but I lacked the clarity to understand what kind of environment would allow me to thrive.

Eventually, I realized I was not designed to spend my career building someone else’s vision. I needed to create my own.

That realization led me to entrepreneurship. I have now spent nearly 20 years owning and operating my own businesses. It has required risk, resilience, creativity, and a willingness to trust my instincts, but it has also given me the freedom to build a career that reflects who I am.

Starting my own business was not simply a professional decision. It was the moment I stopped trying to fit into someone else’s path and began creating one that was right for me.

I understand what it feels like to be intelligent, capable, and close to the mark—yet still know something is missing.

Many of the executives and high performers I work with have already achieved a great deal. They do not need more ambition, generic motivation, or someone to tell them how to succeed. They need an experienced outside perspective that can help them see what they may be too close to recognize on their own.

That is the value I bring.

I combine nearly 20 years of business ownership and real-world leadership experience with rigorous professional training through respected institutions, including the University of Kansas, Harvard University, and Yale University.

I am also a continual student of coaching, leadership, human behavior, and performance. I remain current on emerging research, evidence-informed practices, and evolving coaching methods so that my clients receive thoughtful, relevant, and highly personalized support.

I know from experience that the distance between where you are and where you want to be is not always as large as it appears. Sometimes it is one overlooked pattern, one misaligned priority, or one decision that has not yet come fully into focus.

My role is to help you identify that gap, gain clarity, and make the adjustments that move you from almost there to fully aligned.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I maintained a traditional office in the western suburbs of Chicago. Since the changes that came along with the pandemic, most of my clients have chosen to meet virtually or in their office space.

Virtual coaching has worked especially well for the busy executives I partner with. It offers greater flexibility, eliminates travel time, and allows clients to fit meaningful coaching into demanding schedules without sacrificing the quality or personal connection of the experience.

The majority of the executives and professionals I work with are based throughout the Chicagoland area, although I also coach clients in major cities across the United States, including those in Hawaii, as well as internationally in Spain, England, Germany, Canada, and India.

Whether we meet virtually or in person, the focus remains the same: creating a private, thoughtful space to step away from the demands of leadership, gain clarity, and move forward with intention.
