I began looking for a reputable, accounting,/tax consulting firm and came across Noren Nordling and Associates. I made the phone call and was put in contact with James Dillion. Initially I was reluctant to put my personal information into the portal due to I was always use to going in person with a W2 form. Mind you this was my first year doing a 1099 form. I spoke with James who scheduled an in person meeting with me. I explained to James my 1099 form concerns along with other matters. James took the time to meet in person and answered all of my question’s/concerns. From start to finish, he was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. A couple of days after the meeting I again spoke with James who informed me my return was complete and ready for review. Transitioning over from my former CPA to: Noren, Nordling & Associatea was the best move I could’ve made. Initially I was apprehensive like any new relationship. The professionalism thorough audit of books while initially was tedious wow was it worth it. Jason Shindler & Nicole Brousseau were extremely modest. Due to poor accounting and wrong scheduling I was in the negative 2k according to the NY State. When I heard the correction for my 2023 return of close to 30k then 2024 just as high how could we have missed so much I thought silently. These guys really saved me when I was in a bind trying to get a CPA review of my financials of my real estate business to support an SBA loan. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Noren, Nordling and Associates. I initially spoke with Marcus, the owner, who recommended paying $500 for a strategy planning session to review my tax situation and provide a quote for filing. He estimated tax filing would cost around $1,500, with the final quote depending on any recommendations from the strategy session. Based on this, I moved forward, as I knew my tax situation required minimal adjustments. I was assigned to Nicole Brosseau, who initially seemed attentive. However, communication quickly became a major issue. My emails, texts, and calls went unanswered for weeks. Even after multiple attempts and speaking with their secretary, I was told they hadn’t received my emails, which seemed implausible. Scheduling follow-ups became a nightmare, and when we finally had the strategy session, it confirmed what I already knew with no significant changes to my tax plan. When I finally received their quote after chasing them down again, I was shocked to see a $3,000 fee for ongoing tax planning/strategy sessions quarterly meetings in addition to the $1,500 for filing. This was never disclosed upfront. I had already paid for a strategy session, which revealed no changes were needed, so the additional $3,000 made no sense. I attempted to clarify this with Marcus, but reaching him was impossible. When he finally returned my call after days of waiting, I couldn’t speak as I was boarding an international flight. Upon my return, I left voicemails and emails, none of which were returned. If it was this difficult to communicate with them during the onboarding process, I can only imagine how frustrating it would be once I became a client. The lack of transparency regarding fees and the abysmal communication left me feeling misled and disappointed. I would not recommend their services to anyone. More...
