I recommend Trainer Roman from Lerner & Pooch highly. When I first reached out, my 1-year-old Norfolk Terrier Jewel was pulling like a freight train on leash, and generally running the house like a furry dictator. I love the breed’s big personality, but they can be a handful. Roman completely turned that around, and (just as importantly) he trained ME to be the calm, consistent leader Jewel needed. From the very first session, Roman’s approach was different. He didn’t just tell me what to do – he explained the “why” behind every technique in a way that finally clicked. We worked on place command, structured walks, and most importantly, how to set clear boundaries without ever being harsh. Jewel is still her spunky, feisty Norfolk self (thank goodness!),but we are learning to control most of our wilder impulses. What impressed me most: • He’s incredibly patient with humans too. I asked a million questions and he never made me feel silly. • The progress was fast but never forced. After just a few weeks I could already see Jewel looking to at me with new respect (and a lot less side-eye). • Follow-up support is fantastic – quick responses to texts when I hit a bump. Roman is wonderful. From the moment my husband and I met him we saw how knowledgeable he is of dogs and his dedication. We had just gotten our Schnoodle that was just 4 months old. We wanted to get her trained as soon as possible to prevent any bad behaviors from developing. Everything he said would happen and how she would react was on point. He basically trained us to understand her behavior and how to correct it. In just 2 months Ebony has come such a long way. Hiring Roman was the best thing I could have done for both my pup and me. I adopted my Monroe from a shelter where he had been for 4 months and previous to that, in a puppy mill living in a cage for 3+ years. . The poor little guy had horrible anxiety and I tried working with him for about 5 months and he wasn’t getting better. I went online and started researching training for him and spoke to a few people and I decided to meet with Roman. I hired him right away and what a game changer. We just finished our 5th visit and Monroe is well on his way to living a very happy dog life. He would never eat during the day, only once I went to sleep. Now he eats when the food goes down morning and evening. His walks were stressful for both of us. Now we have structured walks that are productive and his anxiety is getting less and less. Watching the progress and changes is so exciting. He’s a different dog in just 5 weeks. He still has a ways to go to really perfect all the trainings but we are on the way. Roman is fills accessible by text and phone to offer advice and help. He is an amazing trainer I just wish I hired sooner!!! As cute as he is, our Bichon was nipping our children, going potty all over the house, grazing his food and pulling his leash during walks. Roman’s structured dog training program helped transform our puppy into a contributing member of the family who understands that we are his leaders. I have a frenchie and he jumped on everyone and pulled my arm off every time we went outside. I can't believe I actually found a company that caters to small dogs! I had tried a few other companies including the pet store and a trainer that came to my house for a lot of money until he got annoyed with me. I'm ashamed to say I gave up until my apartment complex told me that my dog was the reason I would not be able to renew my lease.
