I can't recommend Sunny enough as a dog trainer! When I first started working with her, my dog, Remy, was incredibly reactive and I was struggling to manage his behavior. But after just a few sessions with Sunny, I've seen such a huge transformation. She's patient, knowledgeable, and really knows how to connect with Remy. My experience with Klever Canine Academy has been exceptionally rewarding. After navigating several training approaches and various other dog training businesses, I am profoundly grateful to have found Sunny. Her expertise is truly remarkable, demonstrating a level of insight and connection with animals that is, frankly, unparalleled. It became clear that her approach transcends standard training; her understanding of animal behavior is both comprehensive and intuitive. I was initially unaware of the distinction between just a trainer and a trainer that's also an animal behaviorist, but Sunny's ability to quickly assess and address complex behavioral issues in my dogs solidified my understanding of its importance. Knowledge and responsiveness. Its a boarding training so won't start until my puppy is a bit older, but I have been talking with her trainer and she is wonderful

My husband and I rescued a hound mix named Cooper at the very beginning of the year. Unfortunately, Cooper had heartworms and was going thru treatment that required him to be sedentary for the first 3 months after adoption; we couldn’t walk him for more than 10 minutes at a time so as to prevent his heartrate from raising too high. Cooper’s inability to exercise due to this treatment, combined with the fact that my husband and I both work from home, resulted in Cooper developing separation anxiety that eventually made it impossible for us to leave the house together without the consequences of house destruction upon our return. Cooper’s aversion to the crate got to the point that we actually had to physically put the create outside so that he couldn’t see it 😲 This is where S.G. Dog Training jumped in to save the day! 😊 Sunny came to pick Cooper up on 1 May 2022 and returned him on 30 May 2022. Prior to pick up, I had provided Sunny with a list of our top priorities his training should focus on, along with some ‘bonus’ items that could be worked on if they had time. Top 3: My husband and I would like to be able to leave the house, we wanted Cooper to be good in a crate, and finally, we wanted to be able to walk Cooper on a leash comfortably and not in fear of being tripped (Cooper tripped me the second time I took him out and we were only out for 10 minutes). While Cooper was away at training with Sunny & team, we received daily videos of what was being worked on showing how well Cooper was doing. I had a lot of questions throughout the journey as I’m very much a ‘why’ person, sort of like a 4 year old that asks ‘why’ about everything! 😊 Luckily, Sunny was very patient with me and answered every single one of my questions, providing me with an explanation that satisfied my need to know ‘why’ things are done this way or that way, therefore allowing me to reenforce those same behaviors when Cooper was returned. Her team, Julie, in particular, also went above and beyond for Cooper teaching him things that were way above our expectations and even sending him home with a couple of certificates! 😊 The day Sunny returned Cooper, she spent a couple of hours with us showing us all the things Cooper had learned and making sure that we were able to follow thru on the same commands/lessons and that we had the confidence to do so. At our request, she even jumped in the pool to show us how to work with Cooper to help make him ok with swimming. That’s still a work in progress, but it’s a start! Since Cooper’s return, not only are we able to have a crate back in the house, but Cooper goes in there willingly, several times a day! Erick and I have been able to resume our normal social life without fear that Cooper is either howling like a madman or destroying the house. It has been amazing! On top of that, Cooper is now a breeze to walk!! I’ve gotten several comments from other dog walkers while we’re on our morning walk about how well behaved he is. That makes me a proud mama!! 😊 Sunny and Julie are still available to us for questions, as I am still learning how to be a great dog mom for Cooper. Because of S.G. Dog Training, we are able to keep Cooper as part of our family for many years to come. I would recommend them to anyone looking for assistance for everything from behavior modification to everyday commands and tricks for their canine family member. They are extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer any of your questions so that you understand why things are done the way they are done. Without S.G. Dog Training, I could not see how we would have kept Super Cooper in our lives. We are forever grateful for what they have done for us. I have no doubt Cooper feels the same way. 😊5/5 More...

Sam and Sunny are an amazing duo for dog training. We found them through another company, but they have been absolute peaches when it came to training out dog, Bruno. Bruno had a lot of fears and no confidence in himself. He loves my family and his home, but was terrified of new people and situations. Sam and Sunny kept him for a month and gave us daily progress. He’s a completely changed dog and has learned how to be comfortable and calm around people in our home. I want to cry from how far he has come from the first day we got him and to everything Sunny and Sam did for him. They are magnificent trainers. We are so lucky to found them. Bruno was in amazing hands and it shows. We HIGHLY recommend this fantastic duo for dog trainers! We will call them if we need anything in the future. More...

I had been experiencing behavioral problems with my dog since I got her. I tried a few behavioral pet specialists coming to my house for in person analysis and training sessions, with no avail. After years of her incessant barking I found it difficult to handle myself. I contacted Sunny and Sam on September 24th for a 3 week obedience training period. After Sunny's initial review of her behavioral problems she decided that 5 weeks would probably be much more beneficial for Ruthie (my dog). Let me say her assessment was on point!! I found Sunny and Sam to be extremely caring, empathetic and very assuring that I could achieve success with her input and training. She was always available to answer any questions or concerns that I had. Her texts, video updates helped explain the reasoning for her particular training methods. I had much less anxiety with being away from my dog, thanks to her videos and communication. I found the proofing very valuable when she and Sam interacted with Ruthie separately. Lastly, she and Sam did excellent hand off training and answered my questions even after the hand off. After her training in September I was so satisfied with their love of dogs I used them again two weeks ago for boarding while I was out of town. When Sam came to pick up Ruthie she mediately went to Sam hopped in the car and went off for a week of her own vacation! I would highly recommend Sunny and Sam for any pet owners feeling like there is no answer or just if you need someone to take great care of your pup when you are out of town! More...

We have a Chihuahua mix puppy that we hired Sunny to help us train. Sunny was fantastic! in a few sessions we were able to lock in on the skills we had, learn new tricks like an agility see saw and poles, and good walking behaviors. we have 3 other dogs and she also helped us get the pack functioning really well from not allowing displacement, better food manners and learning that dogs are also some of the best teachers for puppies! I would recommend Sunny and anyone on her team to anyone who's looking for training!! More...

We cannot convey how thankful & blessed we feel to have found and experienced the work of the amazing S.G. Dog Training with two of the best, Sunny & Sam. Upon wanting to add a puppy to our home, we came home with not one, but two puppies. The cutest, most lovable & energized puppies and where definitely DOUBLE THE FUN, DOUBLE THE TROUBLE! Lol We quickly realized that training was required. Before we hired Sunny & Sam’s services they spent time speaking with us asking questions about our pups, what their outside & inside spaces & days consisted of, what are concerns were etc. They answered all our questions as well. We sent them for a two-week training session and let me tell you, they came back as different puppies. The transformation was incredible! While in training, they send updates & helpful videos for future reference and when we played them, our two puppies got so excited and ran looking for Sunny & Sam just hearing their voices. Upon return after their training, Sunny & Sam do not just leave them off and say goodbye, they spend time showing what the puppies have learned and instruct us on how to successfully continue the accomplishments made.
