I help find the story inside ordinary footage. I’ve been editing and telling stories with video for more than 20 years, with a focus on pacing, timing, emotion, humor, and clarity. I work with YouTube videos, social media content, promotional videos, music projects, interviews, personal projects, and short-form content.

Jamalrecords has hosted promotion of my last two Nezrok releases, which gave a higher profile, translating to more sales.
More importantly, Joe Howell produce two exquisite videos for me, that not only captured the perfect mood and essence of the music & lyrics, but we’re perfectly executed from concept to completion. He took the time to understand what I wanted and translated them into the most professional videos.
Highly recommend!

We are a LIVE band and in this year of the pandemic we had to record a virtual performance for the first time ever. Working with Joe was a pleasure from booking and coordinating schedules to day of recording and post production. He exceeded our expectations and his attention to detail was evident throughout the day as well as in the final product. The end result was a 1 1/2 hour “live” performance that made our client happy and provided us content for all sorts of marketing in the future. Thank you to Joe and JahalRecords for a job well done!! Highly professional in every aspect. Mr Howell exceeded our expectations in both quality as well as creativity. With very vague instructions, he provided us with amazing product that we were proud to present to several of our customers, including WalMart who were very pleased and featured it on their website. Jahal Records provided professional quality for a very competitive corporate environment, and he sure made us look good! More...

Joe Howell is a gem and a complete pleasure to get to work with. He is completely knowledgeable about so many things but certainly has tremendous knowledge of music, video, photography and visuals in general. I have known Joe for many years and have found him to be brilliant, a total gentlemen, respectful, straight forward, honest and dedicated to turning in the best work that is possible. The work he did, videoing, editing, creating, and syncing for L.A.X. was excellent and we were more than satisfied, we were pretty blown away. I would use him again and again More...

I have done a few projects now with Jahal Records and they have been absolutely exceptional! There exists an above-and-beyond attitude that, especially these days, is quite refreshing. Joe Howell takes a great deal of pride in his work, always offering more than is expected of his service. The fast turnover time for my projects shows that when this company takes on a job, it takes priority. Even when I wasn't sure of how to achieve the results needed for a production project, Jahal Records took the time to walk me through my hurdles, and weigh which option would be the best choice to move forward. I would highly recommend their service for anyone in need of quality video or sound production for projects of any size. More...

Were Joe not an incredible musician/bassist, it would be life changing enough to experience his perspective and friendship.
These modern times seem filled with shallowness, and self serving junk.
He represents a return to sanity, with razor focus on the job at hand. Joe puts his entire heart and soul into every project, every session, and backs it up with infinite skill and life experience. So whether it be providing exemplary bass tracks, or visionary modern video composition and editing, Joe is irreplaceable. Do yourself a giant favor and include him in your next project.

As I lovingly refer to Joe Howell as “The Master Manipulator”, the man who can make anything happen digitally. An honor and a joy to work with, he frequently comes up with ideas for my projects that I hadn’t even thought about. Know that you project will be done professionally when Joe is on the job. More...

All of our video and photo production has been recorded by Joe because we not only get an excellent end result but constantly receive all the support we could ever need along the way.
He is a joy to work with. He is always professional but keeps the tone upbeat and makes working together a highlight of the day.
He always goes above and beyond.
Through the years he has not only created beautiful images, but has offered a plethora of education about all video and recording questions we’ve ever had.

What do you love most about your job?
What I love most is the opportunity to meet and work with people I might never have met otherwise and to help them shape their ideas into something meaningful. I enjoy taking raw footage and finding the strongest story, moment, humor, or emotion inside it, then working with the client to create a final piece that feels personal to them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My first computer, and the dream of recording my own original music, was what started everything. It gave me the tools to create, record, and distribute my own compositions. From there, my work expanded into videography and video editing, and eventually I brought those skills together into my own business. What continues to inspire me is helping clients find creative ways to tell their stories and shape their ideas into something they’re proud to share.
Why should our clients choose you?
I strive to help each client realize their vision while making the process comfortable, collaborative, and straightforward. I bring more than technical editing to a project—I focus on story, pacing, timing, and the small choices that help the finished piece feel natural and personal. My goal is not just to complete an edit but to help create something the client feels good about sharing.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes. I provide video editing services remotely and work with clients regardless of location. Footage and other project files can be shared through Dropbox, Google Drive, or another preferred file-sharing service. We can communicate by email, phone, or video call throughout the project so the process stays simple and collaborative.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Most projects are handled remotely, which keeps the process simple and convenient for clients. If an in-person meeting is ever needed, I’m happy to discuss whatever arrangements make everyone comfortable.
